Those that Heal and Those that Hurt: Doctor Fabulous vs Korra the Enforcer - Apex Qualifer

Seconds after Korra kicked out of the first pin she was being pulled into another. The force of her break out gave Fabulous the momentum she needed to try again by pulling on her arm to drag her down with a seatbelt pin with a quick motion and executing the move fast enough to get Korra on her back. This was not what she wanted. She wanted to start a real fight but she was being pulled around to keep the match slow and kill the adrenaline she was on after the headbutt. Korra had no choice but to bridge and pull on her arm while kicking hard enough force the break. All while having to prepare for whatever she would be facing next.

While Doctor Fabulous held Korra in her Seatbelt Pin, hearing the referee get into position and count the first count, she was already preparing to spring into the next position she could. She knew she couldn't allow Korra to hit her again like that--the Doctor would instead try to prove herself dangerous in a very different way. Korra could have all the strength in the world, but Doc Fab had her wits and technical prowess to contend with.

After her strong foe popped out of the Seatbelt Pin, the Fabulous One leaped on top of Korra's back and then latched her hands across the darker-skinned girl's face. Then, she leaned her weight on her back as she pulled back hard, locking on a Crossface and trying to keep Korra at bay and apply as much pain as she could to her. "So... we're not going to play fair, I take it," remarked the Doctor before wincing, shaking her head to clear out any further cobwebs in her mind from that headbutt.

Korra was free again only to be pressured into something else. This time it wasn’t a pin. Doctor Fabulous jumped on her again to pull her arms across her face and pull back around her cheek to pull her into a crossface. Her head slowly fell backwards causing her neck to feel some of the unyielding pressure that threatened her enough to make the enforcer hiss in pain. She still refused to cave in or give up. She had to do something while that head was hurt and her arms grabbed the locked hands to free herself. Pulling on them to bring them down and free her face enough to turn. She couldn’t just break the hold or the doctor would try something else. If she got the space she would risk it all with a turn of her body and elbow to the brow. “Bell rung. Until it rings again all is fair game.”

Doctor Fabulous kept a firm hold on Korra's face with her Crossface hold, making sure to really lock it in tight. She could sense the frustration from Korra at the very least, and that was good enough for her. She kept a close eye on her opponent to see how she might try to escape. "I guess if we're splitting hairs, I'll say you're being 'unsportsman-like' instead of a raging B," remarked Fabulous sardonically.

However, next would be Korra throwing a risky maneuver at Doc Fab, which was exceptionally perfect for her now. Easing on the hold as Korra swung her body to elbow her in the face, the technical submission artist ducked her head, letting the elbow graze the top of her head! However, as Korra fell back, it opened her up perfectly for the sitting Doctor to grab hold of the Anaconda Vice and yanking back hard with what she calls End of Session! A vicious and dangerous hold that could very well make many women tap out this early in the match. While Korra may not be one such woman, the Doctor was happy to hold it in and force her wicked foe to have to work for a release. "Feel free to let the bell ring again though whenever you'd like," added Doc Fab with sarcasm as she cranked her hold on tight.

The doctor was free to call it whatever she wanted since it made no difference to her. Korra was only interested in making sure she came out on top which was achieved by winning. She wasn’t going to wait for someone else to make the first move just like she wasn’t going to wait in this home for a quick exit and aimed for Fabulous’ head to get out early. The result of her next move only made her opponent back off and go for her arm instead of connecting with a cheekbone or the back of the head like she would have wanted it too. And to further highlight her failure the Doctor started to pull the arm back so it was folded against her shoulder and pulling her arm close to her head for an anaconda vice submission hold. Korra had broken the spirits of stronger fighters with that kind of submission and some others to know that letting her lock that in this early could be the end of her undefeated streak. Acting with speed and quick thinking that most thought wouldn’t exist for a brute like her Korra would bring her free arm up to fight the hold long enough to pie face Fabulous. From here she couldn’t overpower her and after she had spent so much time maneuvering her into places of her choosing all Korra could do was force her head back enough that she could kick her knee out to hit her with. She did her best not to show the clear surprise and panic her mind was in right now but she expected that headbutt to stun Fabulous. She recovered quickly. Still that head couldn’t be completely fine and maybe a few extra knees might do what the headbutt didn’t.

Doctor Fabulous had mostly wanted to make a statement with this against the rather vicious Korra--clearly wanting to show that she wouldn't just allow herself to be bullied around. Needless to say, she had been successful in that. But Korra was still relatively fresh and ready to fight back, and Doc Fab wasn't naive enough to think this was a sure thing to get her win. But she knew it would be enough to debilitate her.

Soon, she felt Korra starting to push back at her an loosen the leverage on her hold, grunting as she did so. Eventually, she felt a knee strike her in the head, which Doc Fab resisted at first, instead opting to yank on the hold even more. A second one had dislodged her though, making Fabulous fall back, holding her head. Then, she rolled over onto her side, saying, "Tsk... Had you sweating there for a second." She then shook off the blows, trying to deal with the pain while she had a moment to breathe.

Enough movement and hits managed to force Fabulous off her before she could put her in that submission hold and made her back off. Korra was safe and Fabulous was getting cocky after a few attempts to put Korra away nearly worked. It was a bad start that Korra needed to out behind her and get right back to what she should be doing against this doctor. “That second will cost you.” Another threat and this one she would she make sure was followed up with pain. Korra would get to her feet while she watched Fabulous for any sudden movements. Now that they were back up those quick actions wouldn’t work like before and Korra Luke get to dominating the way she wanted to.

Doctor Fabulous brought herself back to her feet as well, watching Korra all the while. She could only grin now that Korra wasn't charging at her or making the first move. She shrugged her shoulders and then remarked, "The big girl making threats, but is too afraid to make a move. Don't tell me I left an impression already."

The Wrestling Professor was in a grappling pose, slowly circling Korra as she watched her with a simple smile. She would then feint going for her stronger adversary's legs, but then reel back, smirking. She continued to circle until she would rush forward, ducking down and then slipping behind her. A hard pat on the back followed before Fabulous stepped back swiftly, smiling at her opponent. She would play games of cat and mouse as long as she wanted to--and for as long as it would take for Korra to get more riled up.

“What amateur do you think you’re in the ring with?” Goading opponents was a common tactic. Korra used it several times so she couldn’t complain when someone tried to use it on her. Okay his of course only applied for people who were willing to see things both ways. Korra only saw things her way and what was something trivial that was expected of an opponent like Fabulous was in her head an insult for implying Korra was so simple minded that someone thought it would work on her. Such was the kind of the angered enforcer to think that everyone should see her as being above such tricks that she was ironically at risk of falling into the trap she thought she was too good to be baited by. Her defensive stance and furrowed face felt painted on while she watched her foe carefully to avoid falling into a trap. Nearly jumping at the few and watching Fabulous slip through and slap the back of her shoulder before she slipped out of reach. She was playing a game at a time like this. It was a demand for her head to be twisted off like a bottle cap. The angry enforcer could only fume while she watched her continue to move around but staying low to give her no opening to strike her. The only thing she could think of doing was going low and rushing the doctor when she was still away. She knew she could be expecting a rush but her low posture and rare for her size speed might surprise Fabulous before Korra could wrap her and send her to the floor.

Doctor Fabulous was doing her best to keep Korra from getting too comfortable, and after she had managed to give her a pat on the shoulder, it seemed like it was working. "Not an amateur... but someone who definitely thought she was in for something a little easier with a pretty blonde as her opponent," answered the Wrestling Professor with a smirk. She was satisfied to see Korra's reactions currently--at least until the next one took her off guard.

Her legs were taken down with Korra's bigger size and strength, and despite her trying to back up, the Doctor was still caught, being planted on the mat hard. With a loud gasp of pain, the blonde was aware enough to know what to do in such a situation, and she grabbed hold of Korra's one arm with both hands. She didn't want her to be able to pummel her or grab her with both arms. In her prone state, she needed some kind of leverage. As Fabulous caught her breath, she would attempt to manipulate Korra's one arm into a key lock, hoping that may be enough to deter her from whatever she may have wanted to do next with the blonde down!
