Lyra Heartfield vs. Helena DuBois (Apex Qualifying Match)

Lyra hadn’t foreseen this, to be honest. Helena stumbling on the ropes and not seeming to come after her despite the clearly furious look on her face. It seems the Canadian woman had known her limits and Lyra managed to do some damage which sent the crowd into a flurry “LYRA! LYRA! LYRA!” chants. They seemed to be excited to finally see Helena get some comeuppance and see her on the ropes without her cheating ways being dominant in this match. Lyra nodded to the fans with a friendly smile and then ran for Helena, but she got caught with a kick to the gut making Lyra get on her knees holding her abdomen groaning. Helena picks her up before bending her slightly and hitting an impacting DDT!

Helena felt good planting Lyra's head to the mat, smiling as she got up. "Know your place you pesky bitch." Helena hissed as she stomped down on Lyra a couple times before yanking her up by the hair. Helena would slap her hard across the face and then move to hook her arms. Helena wanted to lift her up and send her right back down to the mat with a double underhook suplex, aiming to be in control once more.

Lyra screamed in pain at getting yanked up by her hair and then slapped hard across the face. She felt herself being bent over and hooked by the arms as the cocky Canadian lifted her in the air driving Lyra down hard on her back! Lyra screamed and gritted her teeth grabbing her back in pain!

"Not so tough now are you!?" Helena shouted before kneeling down next to Lyra, digging her nails into Lyra's eyes and raking them before scratching up up face!

The official moved in to pull Helena off giving her a warning about her tactics giving Lyra a moment to recover.

Lyra got scratched as she screamed again and the referee stepped up to Helena scolding her. Lyra regrouped outside as she held her eyes and tried to get back her vision.

“I will disqualify you, Helena! Do that again and this match is over!”

Helena held her hand up to the referee and sauntered over to the ropes, climbing through to drop down to the ground outside. She reached out to grab Lyra by the hair and hoped to smash her head off the apron a few times before throwing her by the hair against the side of, or on top of the announce table! "You can't run and get a break little girl. You don't get to stop taking a beating until I say so!" Helena shouted to her as the assault began.

Lyra groaned as Helena smashed her head off the apron a few times before sending her straight into the announce table. Lyra held her right side before trying to launch a kick at Helena’s gut to keep her distance from her. Lyra then climbed on the announce table looking down on Helena as she turned around. Lyra would then try to execute a Moonsault right off the top of the announce table!

Helena was about to keep pounding on Lyra but she took a kick to the abdomen doubling her over and sending her stumbling back a couple steps. Helena also found out that Lyra was able to recover quite quickly from her assault as she climbed up onto the announce table with haste and leapt off crashing into Helena with a moonsault sending her crashing down painfully to the ground in a heap!

The referee counted out to both girls getting up to a 5 count as Lyra headed back into the ring quickly and just used that time to give herself breathing room. She held her back and got herself up to huddle in a corner. Maybe by some miracle, Lyra could win on a count out victory, but she knew Helena would probably get in at the last second.

Helena was down and out laid out on the ground as the count continued. She rolled over and pushed herself up to her hands and knees crawling to the ring as the count reached seven. Helena used the apron to begin pulling herself up as the count reached eight. The tall Canadian grit her teeth and climbed up onto the apron to roll underneath the bottom rope just before the referee was about to call out a nine count. She was hurt but angry, wanting to simply pound away at this woman...
