An Idol Fit For a Queen - Amika Ishibe [D] v. Satsuki Hayano

Unread post by FreestylePoet »

Standard Match
Victory by pinfall or submission within the ring. Standard disqualification rules apply.

Trepidation did not come easy for Satsuki Hayano. A woman whose entire existence had been either street rats, Yakuza, or socialites had little to fear, and adrenaline was her drug of choice anyway. Getting Satsuki's blood pumping was easy if you had something to offer, but causing it to run cold was another game altogether -- one with precious few solutions. Maybe an impossibly long gap between rooftops. Or a turf war breaking out in her nightclub.

Or perhaps the idea of breaking in a new wrestler.

It wasn't until she'd already dressed for her match that some ringside assistant informed her of the run of show for tonight. That it was fairly normal for debuting rookies to be paired up with more experienced wrestlers was news to her. Satsuki's own debut had been against someone with hardly any more experience than her. Still, as annoying as it was to ramp up to more challenging opponents, that wasn't the problem tonight.

The problem was that now Satsuki was on the other side of things. As opposed to scratching and clawing her way up the ladder, now she was the one who had to roll the dice on a new wrestler. Maybe this new girl wouldn't be half-bad. Maybe she was even a prodigy or, even better, someone with actual experience before LAW. Just the same, however, tonight's debutante could be hardly any better than Mikan -- and memories of that match already threatened to set Satsuki off. If she had to waste another ten minutes running circles around some hapless jobber...

Satsuki's Entrance Music - GAMBLER by MONSTA X
Speculation was rather pointless when the real thing was just moments away, wasn't it? Satsuki made her way down the entrance ramp, her stance slack and unimpressed. Hands in pockets, jacket already half-shrugged off. Still the same aloof smile across her lips, small and casual. When she reached the ring apron, she shucked her jacket the rest of the way off and slinked between the ropes. She posted up in her corner as if it were a balcony overlooking the dance floor, watching the entrance ramp with restrained interest.

Mysteries, mysteries...

Amika's loyal following had been abuzz for weeks prior to this match. Although the idol was no stranger to putting on a show for her fans, there was no doubting that this time would be different. The thought of fighting in a ring had scared her all those months ago when she was first starting to train for her new career, but now, as she waited patiently in the gorilla position for her cue, Amika only felt a calm sense of anticipation.

Oh, who was she kidding - Amika was downright giddy with excitement!

She tried to put on a stoic gaze as all the stagehands passed her by, imitating the serious look all those wrestlers on T.V seemed to have, but all that seemed to do was made her look like a constipated blow up doll. A deep exhale quickly returned Amika's face back into it's signature expression - an ear to ear smile that immediately lit up the room around her.

Her fans had been watching her steady introduction into the world of pro wrestling for quite some time now, and finally she'd be able deliver with a once-in-a-lifetime show: Her debut! While a stagehand had handed her a briefing on tonight's opponent, the only thing Amika had taken a look at was the polaroid clipped to the top of the folder. Satsuki Hayano - She was cute! And pretty! And just the kind of girl Amika knew her fans would love to see her share the ring with.

A familiar sound sent her heart into a flutter. It was the same entrance music that her greeted her on music stages worldwide, and was now her cue to enter the arena and greet the crowd for the very first time.

Mika-Chan!

No stranger to spotlights and cameras, Amika immediately launched into her usually routine. "What's up LAW!.. it's Mikaaaa-chan!" With microphone in hand, she began singing the chorus of one her latest hits, swaying her hips to the tune of the music. Her music video played on the jumbotron and screens above, a familiar sight to the fans that dotted the packed arena.

Amika passed the microphone to a nearby stagehand and began skipping down the ramp towards the ring. A few quick hops brought her up the steps and between the ropes, leaving her with a unobstructed view of her stunning opponent. Amika offered a slight bow towards the referee before making her way to the center of the ring with a huge grin on her face, in start contrast to the rather apathetic disposition of her opponent.

"I'm Amika Ishibe - but you probably know me as Mika-Chan" Amika squeaked, her hand outstretched in hopes of a pleasant start to the match. "Wow, you're even more beautiful up close! I promise to go gentle on ya." The idol said with a wink, although her voice didn't carry the usual inflections of a joke.

There was only one chance to make a first impression. Words, actions, tone, and body language would all be balled up into that weird little thing called "vibes." In a split second, Satsuki would decide exactly what kind of doomed newbie Amika was going to be: One worth her time or one worth her swiftest of kicks. As soon as the music began, it became clear that Satsuki would have no shortage of

In a word, that was her first impression: Amika was loud. Her entrance music was loud, her song was loud, her voice was loud. But more than that, it was like every damn bit of her was made in a lab to catch attention. Satsuki had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. The brunette's little performance simply confirmed what little Satsuki already knew about idols: Amika was at home in front of a crowd, more than happy to prance for their love and support -- or, at the very least, she was damn good at acting like it.

Satsuki kept watching despite her best wishes. Soon enough, though, more puzzle pieces started to click into place. The eager smile on her face as she slipped through the ropes, the cordial handoff of her mic to the nearest stagehand, and above all, the courteous bow to the referee. With each act of glee or respect, a devious grin grew on Satsuki's face. They were nothing more than hints, but maybe there was a game to be played here after all.

Her interest sufficiently piqued, Satsuki now resolved to feel her opponent out. There was still the possibility that Amika might be a worthwhile competitor in her own right, in which case there would be no need for a new wager. Regardless, Satsuki needed a better read on the idol. She hid her cards at the drop of a hat, flickering her smile from impish to starstruck as she all but skipped towards the center of the ring.

"Oh wow, the actual Mika-Chan, in the flesh!" She took Amika's hand with feigned glee, as if she'd actually had any idea who this chick was. Satsuki wasn't so talented as to be able to manufacture a blush on demand, but she hoped her body language would do the trick. Both hands clasped around Amika's and rapidly shook it up and down. "I can't believe I actually get to meet you! And- well-..." She dropped her hands, stepping back with a shrug, giggle, and wink -- in that order. "Wrestle you, I guess? Don't worry about going easy on me, though. I can take it!" Satsuki pumped her fists for good measure.

Any apprehensions Mika-Chan may have had about her opponent quickly dissipated as soon as she saw the familiar smile of a fan light the pinkette's face. Amika's cheeked pinkened with genuine affection as Satsuki shook her hand with enthusiasm. "Always a pleasure to meet a fan!" Amika blushed. She admired the girls confidence, although she hoped that the seemingly loyal follower wouldn't be too upset after she beat her.

Given how giddy her opponent seemed about meeting her, Amika sensed that this truly was going to be a warm debut for her. This kind of engagement with her base was just what she needed to promote her following even more! On top of that, her opponent was fit, polite, and best of all, cute! She made a mental note to thank management for setting this one up later on. But until then, she had a match to win!

After they were finished with the niceties, Amika assumed a grappling stance. Despite the cutesy looks, Amika wasn't going into this match entirely unprepared, and her practiced stance showed it. With only seconds to spare before the opening bell, her mind raced with possible way to kick off the match... Kick off. With a reassured smile on her face, Amika put her plan to action as soon as the opening bell was heard.

Rather than go for the traditional elbow and collar lockup like her stance would allude to, Amika pivoted 180 degrees and made a beeline for the ropes behind her. A burst of energy would carry her there in no time, allowing her to spin so that she hit the ropes back-first and rebound with a dizzying amount of speed. While it wasn't exactly the most subtle of moves, Amika hoped that it's suddenness would be enough to catch Satsuki off guard and still in the center of the ring, where she'd be in the perfect spot for Mika-Chan to attempt a running dropkick straight to her opponent's chest!

The feigned formalities ended, and the match begun. A debuting wrestler was a blank slate, and the one in front of her started to fill hers in with more of the same. The fun of the show, it seemed, was one through-line for Amika's story. But what of her skill? That was still worth testing, even if only with a skeptical eye.

As soon as the bell rang, Satsuki slid into an active stance. It seemed Amika had the same thought: Tests of strength were uninteresting side games at worst and left a fighter open at best. The idol got right to it, which was far more than she could say for most wrestlers.

But by the time she'd even thought to surge forward, Amika had already disappeared! She'd spun around, darting to the ring ropes with a boundless energy. Satsuki could only see her opponent's fluttering brown hair, but she could practically feel the doofy grin on the idol's face. To catch her off guard took impressive speed, and even after registering Amika's energetic sprint, it still took Satsuki's eyes a moment to lock back onto the streaking idol -- now a missile piercing the air on its way towards the Queen of Clubs!

The dropkick landed like a shotgun shell in her chest. Amika's feet thumped forward with power, sending Satsuki reeling. The pinkette's life of parkour was the only thing that let her take a modicum of control, and even after one hurried step backwards, her momentum sent her tumbling down. But that step was enough, allowing Satsuki to catch herself, back and arms, on the middle rope! From there she used the rope like a slingshot, firing herself forward and back into the fray. She flipped onto her hands and sprung off, twirling in mid-air to orient herself for a leg drop!

She fell towards her opponent, hoping to land before the idol could rise from her dropkick. It was time to see what all that quickness was good for! Would Amika be able to squirrel out of harm's way? Or would she be a beat too slow to avoid Satsuki's counterattack?

Physically, the idol didn't have alot going for her. She was petite, delicate, and soft - not exactly traits you'd want to bring into the ring. But she did have at least one ace up her sleeve, an ace that she had in spades: Speed. Combined with some surprisingly refined technique, Amika had an impressive ability to transform momentum into power.

And Satsuki got to experience the full force of the idol's skills just as she was rocketing towards her. Amika had effortlessly channeled all that pent up speed into a monstrous dropkick! Her boots dug deep into Satsuki's chest, sending the pinkette flying towards the rope and leaving the idol to flop gracefully on the mat. The grin on her face didn't even falter for a second!

But she knew that a kick like that would surely send Satsuki back for the rebound, and with a quick glance in her direction, Amika confirmed that she was right. Amika prepared to take advantage of the rebound, hoping to trip her opponent just as she came tumbling back. But at the last second, Amika noticed that Satsuki was far from a tumbling mess. Her rebound was controlled and mitigated, before transforming all together into a flipping leg drop!

Amika stared up wide-eyed as the arena lights became blocked out by her opponent's figure. Her body jerked into action, whipping her into a hasty side roll as quickly as her reflexes could muster. She barely completed a single roll when Satsuki landed on the canvas just to her side, her leg smashing into the spot where her neck had just been moments before. "Woah...nice one! You almost got me there!" Amika gulped nervously while rubbing her neck, her voice strained with relief.

But there was no time to waste with compliments. Her opponent had just attempted a potentially devastating legdrop, and almost succeeded too! But a failed drop like that must have surely rattled her tailbone, and if Amika was quick enough, maybe she could take advantage of that. Scurrying over towards her seated opponent, Amika scampered to position herself right behind Satsuki. From there she would attempt to grab onto her opponent's arms and yank them outwards, creating enough space to drive a knee into the pinkette's back! If she was successful, then she would keep up the pressure by digging the knee deep into the small of Satsuki's back, all while stretching her arms painfully behind her!
