Cheryl Williams vs Megumi Mutoh - Apex Qualifier Match

Megumi was helpless to Cheryl's attacks, her focusing on the arm had done so much to her that she could drag her everywhere around the ring and was keeping Cheryl in complete control. Wrapping her arm around the ropes Cheryl would throw a knee into Megumi's belly before she would pull on her arm bending it against the ropes and using the knee to keep Megumi in place and unable to pull away or adjust herself. The ref would start counting down since Megumi was on the ropes but Cheryl would only need 3 seconds of this before she let go and flip backwards.

"She's hurt, I need to make sure she can't recover." Cheryl said having put enough space between them to run in and jump off Megumi's body to hit her with an enziguri. If that connected Cheryl would be in a position to continue her attack on the arm, planning to wear it down until she could put on tighter and tighter submissions until even Megumi had to submit.

With her being trapped at the corner, Megumi was unable to defend herself from Cheryl's next attack, which was a knee strike to her belly! "AUGHH!!" Megumi was left breathless by the attack. With her being cornered, she became an easy target for the cheerleader, who proceeded to target her arm and keep her there at the corner before the referee intervened, counting down since Megumi was at the ropes.

Still, Megumi was not in a good condition after everything that she had taken, and Cheryl seemed to be readying herself for her next attack. Sure enough, the cheerleader charged towards her and hit her with an enzuigiri. "GUHHH!!" Taking the enzuigiri, Megumi was left hanging at the corner, with her arms over the ropes preventing her from falling face first onto the mat. It seemed that the Combat Genius was in deep trouble.

Cheryl's mind was set on her attack patterns and she was getting emboldened by each success, her attacks were all connecting and Megumi was barely able to stand. Cheryl wouldn't waste any time taunting or celebrating her success, she knew that she was fighting a combat genius and giving her any time to breathe was going to badly affect her. She would grab Megumi's arms and pull her out of the corner while placing the arm above her shoulder, raising it up and dropping it down on her shoulder to bend it over her.

Once she was done with that she would pull the arm down and try to jump and wrap her legs around Megumi's waist before locking in a kimura lock. Assuming Megumi fell she would be on the floor with Cheryl trapping her and bending her arm back in the kimura, pulling it to the limit to test how much more Megumi could take while keeping her from being able to free herself or protect her arm.

Megumi was in a dire spot right now at the corner as Cheryl then pulled her away from there. Falling down onto the mat, Megumi was then subjected to Kimura lock. The pain was enough to cause Megumi to cry out in pain.

"AAGHHH!!"

In her current state, Megumi was in danger of having to submit, but for now, she refused to submit to Cheryl, defiantly glaring at the cheerleader even as the referee went to ask her whether she wanted to submit or not. She needed to find a way out of this before it was too late.

Megumi's position was dire, which Cheryl would exploit and make it worse when she pulled on the arm and hyper-extended it. She refused to submit and was even glaring at Cheryl to make it clear she wasn't done but Cheryl just kept twisting her arm as much as she could. She was aware that it would take some time to make a fighter like Megumi say she had enough but she had an arsenal of submissions that she could use on her arm and make Megumi finally give out.

"Tough cookie." Cheryl said admiring Megumi's fight, but not wanting to give her a moment's break. She would lean on Megumi and make sure she would have to struggle to actually move to any ropes but would keep trying to pull on her arm before Cheryl would consider letting her go, she just needed to wear on the arm a few ways before she could get a finishing submission.

The Kimura lock was very painful, and Megumi could feel her strength draining the longer she was trapped there. It seemed that Cheryl wasn't going to let her go anytime soon, and the only way for Megumi to escape this was through rope break. Gritting her teeth, Megumi would try to crawl towards the nearest ropes, though with her current position as well as the pain that she was currently suffering in right now, it was hard for her to actually move.

"Nnnghhh!! NGHHHHH!!" Groaning out as she forced herself to move, Megumi would try to move closer and closer to the ropes, though with such a snail-like pace, her progress would be slow, and she would be extremely weakened even if she managed to reach the ropes.

Cheryl was trying to make the combat genius lose some of her tools by keeping her arm trapped and extended in ways that would try to break her down. Megumi would attempt to bring herself closer and closer to the ropes, even with Cheryl weighing her down she was still getting closer and closer. Cheryl wouldn't let go, even if she did get the ropes the submission could do it's work before she got there.

Cheryl wouldn't need to hold it much longer, letting her go once she grabbed the ropes and would slide off Megumi, knowing that she had done enough damage and could back off for a minute. Though she wanted to pull Megumi off the ropes the ref told her to let Megumi go completely and Cheryl would comply and walk to the middle of the ring waiting for Megumi to get back up.

After a moment that felt like an eternity, Megumi finally reached the ropes, though the damage was already done. Holding onto the bottom rope like a lifeline, Megumi was finally released by Cheryl, though she was left exhausted and weakened by the whole ordeal. Still, she couldn't afford to stay down as she would use her unhurt arm to pull herself up, groaning as she felt the pain from the hold that she had been subjected into.

Looking past her shoulder, Megumi could see that Cheryl had returned back to the center of the ring. Gritting her teeth, she would turn around and face her opponent. Her body was aching though she refused to stay idle, knowing that she needed to beat the cheerleader. After a while, she stepped away from the ropes, though she wouldn't make any move to attack, with her arm being too hurt to carry out any offensive move.

As one would expect from someone with so much experience Megumi was not leaping to rush back at Cheryl after barely escaping the kimura. She took things slow and didn't attack since she was now fighting with one fully working arm and a target on the other one, Cheryl intended to get back to that arm but she wasn't about to push her luck and go for it knowing that Megumi would be protecting it above everything else. Instead the cheerleader would start to make the first move, stepping in close to give Megumi something to worry about as she inched closer and closer to her.

Once she was in range Cheryl would throw a kick to Megumi's gut before coming in close and grabbing her head so she could pull her back. If that worked Cheryl would then grab the bottom of her shorts and move to her side before pulling up on her head and shorts and dropping them both down to the mat.

Watching Cheryl carefully, Megumi tried to figure out a way to counter whatever the cheerleader was about to do next. She could see that Cheryl was inching closer and closer. Then, she saw Cheryl's foot lashing up, and the Combat Genius would try to react to the attack by using her unaffected arm to catch the incoming attack. After that she would use her hurting arm to maintain her grip on her opponent's leg.

"Nghh!"

Megumi winced, still feeling the pain on her affected arm. This would certainly hinder her greatly, but one hand was all she needed for her next move. With her securing her grip on Cheryl's leg, she would use her healthy hand to yank at it, trying to make Cheryl lose her footing, taking her down with a dragon screw takedown!
