Backstory: The title and moniker of ‘Yin’ have been passed down through generations since ancient Chinese times. Yin is an secretive, masked mercenary that has served royalty, nobles, criminal factions, anyone who might need nuisances or certain problems to conveniently disappear. As per tradition and heritage, each person to inherit the title is male. But this was until the birth of Rixia Mao. Her father bore the mantle of Yin, while her mother passed away shortly after giving birth to Rixia. While her father agreed to pass his title onto her, he was unnaturally strict and stern when it came to the shy girl’s training. Sleep was rare and meals were only rewarded upon successful completion of tasks. She suspects this was her father’s way of ensuring she could handle the difficult expectations and pressure that would be placed upon her shoulders.
When her father believed she was ready, he put her in touch with one of his associates, a man who went by the name Cao Lee. Cao was a representative for a crime syndicate called Heiyue that had established a significant presence across the eastern hemisphere of the globe, but also with branches set up in Europe, Africa and the United States. With their fingers dipped firmly in the world’s criminal underworld, they were seeking to expand into the growing popularity of LAW. In order to gather intel on the federation and how best to exploit the sport of wrestling as part of their criminal ventures, Cao informed Rixia that her contract would see her sign up as the newest wrestling talent of the roster. An unorthodox first job, but one she was well suited for, nonetheless…
Personality: When in the ring, Yin is something of an enigma and prefers to keep to herself, appearing mainly in the ring for matches and rarely seen backstage or in public. Confident but never foolhardy. Clever yet not boastful. The defeat of her opponent is all that she fixates herself upon, and she will never yield or surrender until every ounce of energy has been expended from her body. She has little tolerance for wrestlers that possess big egos, believing they do not take the sport seriously, and she is more than happy to prove this to them in matches…
…As Rixia the ‘backstage worker’, she is considerably more polite and cordial towards others. She is also a lot more humble in her own abilities and capabilities. She wrestles with the internal dilemma of wanting to live a life of normalcy, free from the pressures of her role. She still attempts to close herself off to others to ensure no one makes the connection between her and Yin, but perhaps those who pursue a friendship with her may be clever enough to link the dots…
