The Young Lioness Cup, Opening Round: Reny Selene vs. Rem Mathers

Reny realized that perhaps that Rem is not used to dealing with strike, then she might as well take advantage of it fully even if she doesn't like it herself

Reny would have step forward to try to deliver a one two toward rem face to try to direct her attention to her face as reny would have followed it up to what it seems like a uppercut aiming at rem stomach, reny would have change the direction of the uppercut at the last second to send it toward rem chin hoping that rem thought that she would do the same combo as last time

As Rem was forced to keep her defensive stance, Reny went for the same starter as she had before; two jabs towards the bluenette's head that were defended with little trouble. And when the brunette went for the low follow up again, Rem would not try to defend anything other than another punch. She had had been caught guessing wrong on it twice now, if Reny did go for the grapple now and took Rem to the ground, then so be it.

Rem dropped one of her arms to intercept a blow to her stomach, but Reny had a trick to try. The gun girl redirected her punch, changing its angle so that it was now a blow to Rem's chin instead of her stomach. But the deception would not work. As Rem had only lowered one arm to stop the gut punch, she still had an arm near her face to stop the real punch. As Reny's attack bounced harmlessly off of Rem's guard, it was now finally time for the bluenette to attack. She would start by grabbing the arm her opponent threw her punch with, and using it to pull Reny forward into a stomach kick.

While Reny is taking control of the fight, it is only a matter of time until rem get used toward her striking fighting style and start ignoring the posibility of a graple and focus on blocking her strike.

That is exactly what happen as even though Reny tried to trick rem by faking a punch toward her stomach before switching it midway to her face, rem manage to block her blow completely with one hand as this would cause Reny eye to widen in shock

This cause a delay in her reaction as reny would have been forcefully pulled toward her opponent as she would have let a painful groan from the impact that her opponent kick gave toward her...but she already this far so she won't back down, as she would have grab a hold of rem leg that she use to kick her stomach as she would have pulled the leg toward her to try to make her opponent lose balances as if she is successful, reny would have try to quickly transition into a single leg bostom crab hold hoping that the switch from strike to submission will be enough to catch her opponent off guard

Finally, thought Rem as she felt her foot connect with Reny's body. She had been stuck trying and failing to block her opponent's combinations, repeatedly managing to scrape by and salvage the situation from turning into an outright mess. But Reny and gone to the well one too many times, and Rem was able to call it out and counter it.

But Reny was going to be annoying about it. She wasn't ready to be done attacking yet. Despite clearly being staggered from the kick, the gun girl would try to grab at Rem's leg and pull her down. The bluenette would not allow this. "NO!" Rem cried out as she stomped her leg down onto the mat, pulling it free of Reny's grip. Then Rem would come forward with a forearm strike at Reny's head, looking to knock her down. "I'm not handing the advantage back over that easily!" she said with and angry grit in her voice.

Reny would have groan in annoyence when her plan to drag rem toward the ground failed horriblely when rem pulled back her leg harshly making reny stumble backward slighy, this is bad, if this continues then she would be the one on the back foot and that will be suck

When rem lunge forward to send a forearm strike toward Reny, reny would have move backward slightly ever so 'slowly' to create the illusion that rem is strike is getting closer to hitting her but never actually connecting to her face. When rem leave herself open from her attack attempt, reny would have tried to do a back flip to both create distance and send a kick straight toward rem chin to rattle her brain if it is connected

When Rem forced her leg free from Reny's grip, the force of it pushed the brunette away. This ending up being a stroke of luck for Reny, as when Rem came forward with her attack, the gun girl's backwards stumble became a backwards dodge. And then, after dodging the bluenette, Reny tried once more to counterattack, this time going for Rem's chin with a backflip kick.

Rem, knowing that she didn't have enough time to block or counter the kick, swiftly twisted her head to the side to evade. Reny's foot grazed her blue bangs, but was unable to connect with Rem's head as planned. However, Reny had gotten away. So even if the gun girl hadn't retaken the advantage, Rem had still lost it, as the match was reset to a neutral state.

Reny would have let out a groan as she would have only hit the hair of her opponent and not their face. However the result is still what she wanted since at the very least she is back in neutral...tho she doubt the same trick will work twice...oh well being patient is just one of the good trait that a marksman have, she could wait

Reny would have began circling Rem as she would have move back and forth while watching her opponent carefully as Reny would have both waiting for the right time to strike and the right angle to strike to have the maximum advantage with her strike

Rem was frustrated. Even if she wasn't necessarily losing right now, she was upset that she wasn't winning. She felt like after playing all that defense, after successfully weathering the storm of Reny's assault without giving her anything really major, and then reversing the position, that she had earned her turn. But the brunette had just slipped away like it was nothing.

Reny wanted to stay back, and circle around, and all that stuff. But that wasn't going to fly with Rem. She wanted to go, to attack, to take her turn to be the one forcing Reny to defend on the razor's edge. So she went in. Rem charged Reny dead on, and leapt forward at the frustrating foe with a gut piercing spear attack that she had dubbed Al Huma

Rem is not the only one who is frustrated. In fact it could even be said that Reny is more frustrated than her opponent since nothing and literally nothing seemingly work against her opponent even after storm of assult that she just send out, and hell she almost get caught and most likely be in a extreme disadvantage if she didn't escape from her opponent just now

However intead of lashing out or get more aggressive, Reny would have keep her cool since she know the second she lose her cool then it will be the second that she will lose. Afterall if she can't gain advantage when she stay relatively calm then how can she gain advantage when she lose her cool...what she need to do is remain calm and wait for another opportunity

And that opportunity come when rem began to charge blindly at her and the very second that rem begin her leapt, Reny will raice her knee straight toward rem face with everything she got as sshe intend to make Rem own momentum to increase the striking power of her own knee

Rem charged. No feints, no bullshit. Rem was attacking, would she overcome whatever defensive attempt that Reny put up? The answer: A little, but mostly no. The bluenette leapt forward and the brunette shot up her knee. Most likely, Reny wanted to catch the crown of Rem's head and stuff her completely. But the gun girl was just a touch late. Though as consolation, her knee struck Rem's face flush on.

"GAH!" Rem cried out as she crashed, uncontrolled into Reny. The two wrestlers fell to the ground, but Rem had gotten the worst of it by far. Rolling, holding a now bloodied nose in pain. Reny's knee also sapped enough of Rem's momentum that even though the bluenette had gotten through, her spear didn't do any damage to the gun girl beyond knocking her down. Rem was in some trouble.
