Alizeh had just said some harsh words to Marzia. Words she wished she didn't have to say... But they were necessary and not a single part of Alizeh regretted it. At the end of the Mariza wanted this. She wanted to turn this match both of them had wanted and waited for into warfare to prove her own toughness. Alizeh didn't want that, but Marzia didn. So as far as Alizeh was concerned she was just giving the Italian what she had asked while being completely and totally honest while doing so. It wasn't her fault if the truth hurt... Along with her submissions.

Looking down on Mariza both literally and physically after freeing the girl from her last leg focused hold Alizeh waited patiently as Mariza took her time breathing, trying to recover from the pain Alizeh had put her through. Naturally it took her a bit to do so. Something that against Alizeh's better instincts made her smile softly at managing to do. That being said however it didn't take Alizhe too much longer to fully pick herself up and get into a standing position to meet Alizeh, not that she wasn't still panting heavily as a result. So whatever the Italian had in Mind Alizeh would be ready.

Though as she did so it became quickly apparent that what Alizeh had said had gotten into Marzia's head, making the girl snarl and growl at Alizeh before lashing out at her. 'Good.' Alizeh thought to herself intent on dealing some more damage to her opponent before putting her away. The kinda damage that would suit this new version of Marzia. Tensing her body up as Marzia got up to her feet Alizeh waited, already knowing, feeling what Marzia was about to do, and she was smiling in readiness for it.

So when Marzia's hand came down across Alizeh's chest it hurt, but she was prepared. "Ngh!" Wincing in pain Alizeh would look up at her opponent with a small smirk. "That all ya got?" Alizeh asked as she reared her own arm back before swinging it forward, intent on driving her own hand across Mariza's chest with a chop of her own in revenge for the one Mariza had given her and starting a chop battle in the process!

Coming out of Alizeh's brutal legbar, it was going to take Marzia some time to collect herself. She winced, hissing under her breath as she reached down to rub at her knee, then her ankle - she had to check each joint in order to make sure nothing was broken, and each time she did it left her body tensing up from the pain it awakened in her. Even greater than the pain of the hold, however, was the pain of knowing what had happened between her and Alizeh. They were friends. They should still have been friends - but it was Marzia who had gone and thrown all of that away, and all because she was that desperate to prove that she was stronger than anyone who had ever doubted her thought. She thought she was over it. She thought that now that she had learned, that she had gotten stronger, she would never need to worry about being the old Marzia again - about slipping up, embarrassing herself, going slack when she had everything falling into place. But now that she was face to face with an old friend, it brought everything bubbling back up to the surface, reminding her all too well of what she had turned her back on.

But she couldn't stop now. If she did, it would only be proving her worst fears - that she really was weak, that she really was helpless! She wouldn't dare let those things come true! Gritting her teeth and snarling under her breath, she forced herself back to her feet - she teetered uneasily on her legs at first, but she soon found her center of balance and shot a glare back straight through Alizeh. If the green-haired girl really thought so little of her...then Marzia would have to show her who she was now!

She swung her arm as hard as she could, cutting through the air as she aimed right for the center of mass. A crack rang out as Marzia hit her mark, turning Alizeh to the side. But no sooner had that happened that Alizeh shot back with a chop of her own, one that landed with as much force and as hard an impact as Marzia's! The Italian girl swung back in an arc as the side of her opponent's hand landed against her chest, her head reeling backward and her back twisting. Slowly, she straightened herself, looking back up at Alizeh. She heaved and panted under her breath, trying to hold the air in her lungs. But Marzia knew just one thing - she couldn't let this be the end. Not like this. Alizeh wanted to see what she could do, and she was going to prove it!

"Oh, no...no, it's NOT!!" Roaring in rage, Marzia swung back with her arm once again, going for another chop across Alizeh's chest - this one even harder and faster than she'd done before. However, if that hit, Marzia would be ready. She hoped that Alizeh would swing back with another chop of her own - if she did, she would catch her by the wrist, bending back at it! "This, Alizeh...this is who I am now!!"

Marzia would torque harder on Alizeh's wrist, hoping to wring everything she could out of the wristlock. Then, though, she would pull Alizeh's arm to drag her low while she stepped over her arm to bring it between her legs and pull back for a standing armbar!

Re: Duel of Rebirths: Alizeh Midori vs Marzia Servelli 2

A fever pitch had broken out between Alizeh and Marzia as things between the two had finally broken down to a all time low of utter violence between the two former friends. All that mattered now was victory. Even if Alizeh had to destroy Marzia and herself in the process, that victory would be hers no matter the cost! So now the two were locked, stalemated in a battle of will power and physical force with each sending brutalizing chops towards each others chest with no amount of remorse whatsoever in the process. What remained to be seen however was who would break first, Marzia, or Alizeh? Who wouldn't be able to withstand the force of the other and back down in the wake of the new image of one another.

However Alizeh had made a mistake in believing this new Marzia would stick to a fair contest of brute strength. No if anything the new Marzia had shown she didn't care about rules or sportsmanship. That much was evidently clear. But even in a contest such as this her disregard for fair play was at its highest. Before Alizeh could react after sending her own air shattering chop Marzia had already come back with another herself, causing Alizeh's chest to absolutely BURN in agony, her tanned skin flaring red from the impact and causing the green haired girl to hiss softly in pain. Not that it would stop her mind you. Rather Alizeh was fully intent on clapping right back against her opponent. Rearing her arm back Alizeh tensed her muscles before swinging it forward, intending to drive her palm against Marzia's chest once again for a deafening revenge chop!

However that's not what ended up happening. As Alizeh brought her palm down towards Marzia's chest the Italian girl suddenly reached up, grabbing her wrist out of the air and pulling her in a wrist lock! "Grr!" Grunting softly and gritting her teeth as Marzia manipulated her limb Alizeh saw what Marzia was doing, wrenching the hold as best she could while attempting to pull Alizeh down low for something Alizeh knew would be bad. But she wouldn't so easily back down. "Well.. this... is who... I am now!" Alizeh shouted, jerking her arm back with each word before ducking low and spinning under Marzia's arm, undoing the wrist lock and even reversing the hold onto Marzia in revenge! Pulling the caught arm up Alizeh would rear one leg up, resting her thigh over Marzia's caught arm and bracing her boot on the Italian girl's face as Alizeh shot one last glare at Marzia.

"AND I'M WINNING THIS!" Alizeh roared fiercely as she would then aim to fall backwards, pulling Marzia with her to land a inverted stomp facebreaker on Marzia! If the move worked however then Alizeh wouldn't be done far from it in fact. No that was only the set up. For after landing the move Alizeh would curl her leg around Marzia's arm before sitting up in a kneeling position, trapping Marzia's arm in the process! As she did so Alizeh would reach forward, going for Marzia's leg that she had targeted earlier. Grabbing the limb Alizeh would lift it up before starting to bash the knee against the mat for a total of five times! Once the bashing was completed Alizeh would then attempt to pull Marzia's leg back and over Alizeh's shoulders to lock in her new finisher, the Emerald Twilight!

Re: Duel of Rebirths: Alizeh Midori vs Marzia Servelli 2

When Alizeh shot back with a brutal chop across Marzia's chest, it hurt. There was no denying that. The girl could hit hard, and what made it even worse was that Marzia knew it was coming from someone she used to consider a good friend. Before, when Alizeh hit her, she could tell she was only trying to test her strength and endurance; that the two girls were both trying to push one another onward and upward to improve their skills and to grow more and more with each time they met. There was none of that now. Now, when Alizeh hit Marzia, she wanted her to hurt. The impact left stinging welts across the Italian girl's chest, with a streak of red rising across her skin, and her eyelid twitched as she tried to brace herself against the pain, her nails digging into the palms of her hands as she tried to overcome the burning sensation that ran through her. She could shrug off the pain, but what stuck with her was knowing that Alizeh wasn't holding back any more. She saw Marzia as a monster that needed to be vanquished. There was no hope of the two reconciling now, and it came across in the intensity with which they met each other. But if that was the case...then Marzia just needed to hit Alizeh back just as hard!

She made sure every chop she threw was even harder than the last. She couldn't let Alizeh overtake her; if she was going to prove she was a stronger, tougher, better person, she couldn't let herself be bested this easily! She roared in pain with each blow she took, and the chops she slung across Alizeh's chest left the flat of her own arm aching from the sheer force she put behind them. But she had to keep it up. She couldn't fall slack now. And when she felt she couldn't chop any longer, she just changed up her tactics, grabbing Alizeh by the arm and slinging it between her legs. Marzia had always been skilled in submissions, and if that expertise was what it was going to take for her to break the green-haired girl once and for all, so be it - she was going to throw everything she had at her!

Her fingers grasping at Alizeh's wrist with a white-knuckle force, Marzia clenched her teeth, drawing all the power she could summon into this hold. Her thighs wrapped around her opponent's arm like the grasp of a boa constrictor. She had to win this. She had to make this work. Anything less, she knew, would be a betrayal of all she believed in, all that she knew about herself - it would prove that all the efforts she'd made to improve herself were a failure. And yet, in the back of her mind, Marzia was begging for Alizeh to tap out now - just to make sure she wouldn't have to face the guilt of looking at her as her opponent any more.

But that wouldn't happen. Marzia was well versed in holds, but so was Alizeh - and she knew how to turn this back against her foe! Just then, Alizeh rolled out between Marzia's legs, twisting her wrist in the process to reverse the hold! In an instant, the Italian looked back up at Alizeh, and her eyes went wide, her jaw dropping into a gasp. When Marzia looked back out at Alizeh, it wasn't with anger, or with disdain. It was with shock and awe - she could hardly believe that she was seeing. That despite it all, despite how hard she'd worked...Alizeh still got the better of her.

"N...no..." In that moment, Marzia was shaken back into reality. Her tough, ruthless image dropped. She looked back at Alizeh with a blank stare, her mouth hanging open in a gasp, just before Alizeh's foot came down on her face. And then, she fell back, leaving Marzia to fall against her and driving her face down directly onto the sole of her boot!

"MMFF-!!" A thud rang out as Marzia's head bounced off of Alizeh's boot, rattling her body with a tremor. She began to sink down into the mat, face-down and motionless; the only movement she showed was the slow rise and fall of her body with each breath she took. But Alizeh wasn't done with her! She grabbed Marzia's arm, scooping herself back up. And once in position, she began to slam her leg again and again into the canvas, each time causing it to bounce!

The Italian threw back her head, bellowing out a scream. Her leg was already sore from where Alizeh had targeted it earlier; this was just making everything hurt a thousand times worse, and each time her leg fell against the mat the pain surged through her body once again. By the time Alizeh pulled back on her leg for the Emerald Twilight, the whole crowd cheering wildly, she realized it was hopeless. Marzia had fought as hard as she could, but there was simply no more she could take. Her body had been stretched to its limits, and at last, she had reached the end of the line.

Tears watered in her eyes, and her teeth clenched. She didn't want it to come to this, but she had no choice. It was with no shortage of regret that Marzia tapped her hand against the mat, signaling her surrender.

"THAT'S IT!! I GIVE! I...I give..."

Re: Duel of Rebirths: Alizeh Midori vs Marzia Servelli 2

This was it. The climax of this match between Alizeh and Marzia. Their battle had quickly gotten personal, with neither girl wanting to back down to the other and admit one may have been wrong. Truthfully both probably were in the wrong for how they handled their respective changes in attitudes. But Alizeh wouldn't say it, and she highly doubted that Marzia herself would do so. Instead Alizeh was determined to end this battle once and for all and everything she had done up until now would lead to such a result. Namely her targeting of Marzia's leg thus far. It was all in preparation for this moment precisely. When Alizeh would grasp Marzia's hand, fighting out of the girl's own submission attempt to do so. So with Marzia's hand in tow Alizeh brought the girl down with an inverted stomp facebreaker before instantly transitioning to a submission. One that left Marzia's arm locked down while Alizeh reached over to grab Marzia's leg and pull it back. Seamlessly locking the Italian girl in the green haired girl's new and penultimate finishing move, the Emerald Twilight!

So holding onto Marzia's leg in the most painful way possible Alizeh would lean forward, stretching the limb to its absolute limit as Alizeh did so. Securing the move and applying as much pain to Marzia as physically possible! "Take this!!!" Alizeh would roar as she did so, clutching at Marzia's limb as tightly as possible as she did so, wanting to end this once and for all. Luckily within moments the moment finally came. Marzia began tapping her hand wildly against the mat, finally causing the bout to end as the bell rang! Holding onto the limb even after the bell rang it took the ref pulling on Alizeh's shoulder to prompt the girl to finally release the leg of Marzia and stand up off the Italian girl.

"YES!" Roaring out in victory Alizeh would stumble and land on her ass, but with a look of victory present on her face as she pounded her chest proudly at having gotten the win over Marzia. Looking over at Marzia the green haired girl would push herself up and stumble towards the Italian girl before ending up in a kneeling position in front of the girl. Waving the ref off Alizeh would grab Marzia by the hair, forcing her head up and having the girl look up at her with a glare directed into the Italian girl's eyes. "Always remember this! I'm the one who beat you! Me! Remember that!" Alizeh practically yelled into the girl's face before pushing her face down into the mat before forcing herself up to her feet. As she did so the ref would then grab Alizeh's wrist and lift her arm up in victory as Alizeh panted and took in the victory, basking in the glory of her first win with her revamped style before rolling out of the ring and heading back to the backstage, already planning for her next bout.

Re: Duel of Rebirths: Alizeh Midori vs Marzia Servelli 2

It was over. Marzia had struggled to reinvent who she was, trying to shed all the parts of her that were holding her back from her true potential. She wanted to be strong, she wanted to be tough, and more importantly, she wanted to win. All of those desires, she thought, could be traced back to the same origin. She was too weak, too timid; she needed to be more assertive. When she had thrown all those things away, she felt like she was making progress. She was confident it was the era of a new Marzia, a Marzia who wouldn't let anyone tell her where to go or what to be any more. But in the end, she had brought all of her newfound aggression and determination and will to surpass what she was before into a rematch that had been brewing for some time, one that could set her career right once and for all...and it hadn't been enough.

As Alizeh rolled off of her, Marzia righted herself on her knees, balling her hand into a fist and pounding it hard against the surface of the ring. Her teeth clenched and her brow furrowed in frustration. What had she done wrong, she asked herself? As her knuckles went white and her nails dug into the palms of her head, she ran through the possibilities in her head. If Alizeh hadn't targeted her leg so much, she thought, she could have won - all she'd need to do was to hold up a little while longer, but with the strain she'd incurred she wasn't able to keep up. Hell, she might even have been able to withstand the Emerald Twilight, she told herself. There was no way it could be her fault. It was supposed to be foolproof. She was better now. No one could stop her now, so why could something like this happen!?

There was only one explanation, Marzia realized. And as Alizeh grabbed her by the hair and pulled her wincing to her feet, the Italian knew it was standing right in front of her, looking her in the eye. If she was up against anyone but Alizeh, she could have won. She wouldn't have gone soft. It was their friendship, their bond, that was holding her back; on some level, Marzia still yearned for the two of them to be friends. She still felt those regrets, all through the match. That was proof that she had never made the transformation she craved. Those impulses in her, the connections that made her softer, weaker...they were still there. And now, they had cost her when she was most in need of throwing them aside!

She couldn't stand to look at Alizeh any more, and to be reminded of her failures. Not her failure in staying true to their friendship. Not her failure in crushing those parts of her that wanted to hold on to a past that only crippled her potential. And certainly not her failure to win this match. As her eyes narrowed, Marzia tried to lean in closer still to lock a glare into Alizeh's eye - but before she could do anything else, the green-haired girl shoved down on her head, rubbing her face against the canvas.

With Alizeh making her exit from the ring, Marzia rose up on her knees, taking in slow breaths. Even after her opponent had left, her eyes lingered on the curtains, never blinking and never averting her gaze. A shudder ran through her body, and her muscles tensed. This wasn't over, she knew. Marzia still had work to do...

But to what end?
