"So her name is just Rael?" asked Deanna Duncan, arms crossed as they stood in the gorilla area.
Cheyenne Black Rock nodded simply. "Yes."
Deanna waited a beat, then leaned in and clarified. "Like just Rael. One name. Like Cher?"
The Native American nodded again. "Or Zendaya."
"God, how did I not go with Zendaya? Why was my go-to for this Cher?" asked Deanna, shaking her head at her tag team partner. "But her name is just Rael. No gimmicks, just Rael."
"Again, yes," answered Cheyenne impassively.
Deanna clicked her tongue. "Well that's just weird, Chey. And honestly? Kinda hope you kick her ass just because of that. I mean, not that you're not going to kick her ass because come on, you're Cheyenne Black Rock. You have not only two names, but three names."
"Your ability to count continues to impress." Black Rock closed her eyes, focusing on listening to the crowd and the music playing, ready for her cue to go out to the ring.
"I'm amazing at counting, thank you very much. Do you need any hype though? Any encouragement maybe? Reassuring words? I know how emotional you get before a match," said Duncan, gesturing to her relatively stoic tag partner.
"Somehow, I will be fine. Thank you," replied the Native American, offering her friend a small smile. "You may say you're rooting for me though."
"Well of COURSE I'm rooting for you! How bad of a friend would I be if I didn't!? Your number one cheerleader is standing right here! And I'll be here after you get that dub and you rock this Rael girl's world," said Deanna with a huge smile on her face, holding out a fist for Cheyenne.
Black Rock looked at it, then bumped it without a word and started to head out to the stage. Protect the Land - System of a Down began to play as a spotlight shined down on Cheyenne Black Rock, looking as imposing and impressive as ever. Black Rock simply walked down to the ring, nothing special. She was more of an actions inside the ring kind of performer than anything fancy or exciting. The flashy part was usually with Deanna, but that didn't mean she didn't have her own part. With a casual stride, Cheyenne walked up the ring steps and shoved down the top rope as she stepped up and over it before walking over to her corner, arms crossed over her chest as she awaited her opponent's arrival in this upcoming contest, patiently and prepared.
