The arena dimmed as spotlights began to flash onto the stage to the beat of the song Dr. Feel Good by Rania. Doctor Fabulous stepped out onto the stage in a white doctor's coat and a pair of glasses, placing a hand on her chin and looking thoughtful as the crowd cheered on the Wrestling Professor. She had been gaining a reputation for being quite the technician in the ring, and the crowd had grown to appreciate her method of working over her opponents. And Doctor Fabulous loved it as well.

As she walked down the ring, she had waved to many people in the crowd, posing with a few people for photos before getting to the foot of the ring and grabbing hold of one of the ropes and climbing to the apron, giving the crowd a wink as she made a sensual pose and stepped into the ring. She had her arms out as she walked to the center of the ring and took off her glasses and removed her coat, revealing her gear for the upcoming match. A confident smirk on her face came after as she handed them to the referee to remove for the match and she walked to the ring ropes, standing on the bottom rope and leaning over the top rope, arms held out along it as she once again struck a seductive pose before stepping off the ropes and moving to her corner, stretching as she awaited her opponent's entrance for the Apex Qualifier!

LAW seemed to be throwing its mother of all tournaments with the Apex Tournament, so there was no way that Ishtar Vasiliev was going to miss out on the fun. It didn't matter if the Russian had to fight a 500 pound heavyweight to get the Openweight Title, she'd power her way through every pound of every opponent that she had to face down to win it all.

But oddly enough, winning wasn't a requirement to get in. There was a bit of variance depending on experience in LAW and preexisting accolades and achievements, but for a large portion of wrestlers, Ishtar included, the only requirement to reach the main tournament was to participate in three specially sanctioned qualifier matches. Win, lose, or draw, both wrestlers were eligible for credit for Apex.

Not that I won't still try to win, but it's certainly convenient," thought Ishtar as she prepared to make her way out to the stage as the music switched from one classic rock song to another.

Ishtar walked to the ring with confidence in her step, and focus in her eyes. She fed off of the energy from the crowd like she was a conductor pulling in electricity for power. Even if she wasn't as worried about the match as she might have been if higher stakes were attached to the outcome, the mighty Russian was still plenty ready to throw down with her opponent. Speaking of which, ""Fabulous, huh?" Ishtar said upon entering the ring. "That outfit certainly matches the billing. Let's see if your wrestling does too." She offered a handshake. She'd be ready to pounce if needed, always wary of the potential for cheap tactics from strangers. But Ishtar was still willing to at least give them a chance upon meeting them.

Doctor Fabulous watched as Ishtar entered the ring, keeping an eye on her and trying to pull whatever she could from her, almost studying her. She liked to gather more about her opponents aside from them simply being wrestlers. It appeared the platinum-haired girl was confident, and fired up by the crowd. It was fine--enough for now in these early stages. And so when she offered the Doctor her hand as they met in the center of the ring, Doc Fab glanced at it briefly.

Taking her hand, the psychiatrist gave her a firm handshake, nodding with a smirk. "Well, it would be presumptuous of me to call myself fabulous if I couldn't back it up, right?" She winked at Ishtar before stepping back. Then, she would hold her arms up, preparing for a lock up with her foe for this Apex Qualifier!

Alright, she seems nice enough, Ishtar thought as Doctor Fabulous stepped back from the handshake to start the match. Opponents who could get through a handshake without any drama, and just act like a regular person, usually ended up being rather chill in the end regardless of their ability. The Russian would also get into her stance as the bell rung, starting the fight.

The Doctor looked like she wanted to open with a lock up, and Ishtar was all to happy to oblige that. Ishtar was a powerhouse's powerhouse. Any moment in a match that directly pitted her opponent's strength against her own was nearly always to Ishtar's advantage. Assuming no trickery, Ishtar would lock up with Fabulous and start trying to use her immense strength to push and bully her back to the corner. Once she did that, the Russian would try to disengage with one of her arms so she could ram the blonde into the corner post with a shoulder charge at her chest.

Doc Fab liked to use the opening of the match to analyze just what kind of opponent she was up against. Without knowing it, many people gave away their styles and intentions early on. Ishtar obliged with the lock up and the pair of women grappled, but one thing was clear: Doctor Fabulous was not going to win any contest of strength. As she resisted a little bit, she was pushed back into the corner, groaning softly. The blonde grit her teeth and held up her hands when the referee had forced the break between them, but Ishtar wasn't about to let her go without a receipt.

The should rammed into Fabulous' chest with a shoulder charge, and Doc's body smashed into the corner again as she reached up, holding her chest and gasping for air. She slumped into the corner and closed her eyes tight. It was a stunning blast that took the breath out of her quickly. It would seem that Ishtar got the early advantage in the match as Doctor Fabulous tried to collect herself.

As Ishtar had been expecting, she was quickly able to overpower Doctor Fabulous and force her into the corner. The ref seemed to think that Fabulous getting pushed up against the ropes counted as a break, so Ishtar chose to attack while she still could. The Russian rammed her shoulder into the Doctor's chest, leaving her slumped in the corner, vulnerable to more.

From here, Ishtar had two options; she could go for strikes, or she could try to pick Fabulous up and slam her. The Russian decided to take the more cautious route and go in for strikes. Ishtar hit hard, but she had only landed one hit. Her opponent still likely had plenty of resistance in her to resist and interrupt if Ishtar tried to grab her and lift her up.

With Fabulous on the ground, a kick was the most natural option to start with. Ishtar would aim her leg to go straight into the Doctor's chest where the shoulder charge landed. Then, she would use the forward momentum from her kick to lean forward into and overhead punch meant to come down onto the Doctor's temple. If both blows connected, Ishtar would drag the blonde out of the corner by her legs to get her away from the ropes, then Ishtar would try to lock Fabulous into a Boston Crab. The match could potentially end quite quickly if the Doctor can't mount a resistance.

Doctor Fabulous kept a hand on her chest from the harsh blow she had received. She knew exactly the kind of fighter that Ishtar would be now, and if it wasn't clear to her, the following kick would as it pounded into her chest again, blowing the wind from her lungs as she cringed in pain. The psychiatrist shook her head, trying to catch her breath again, only to be blasted in the head with a punch, flopping over to her side, stunned. Ishtar had managed to effectively stagger her in this match, leaving her reeling in the early goings.

As she was being drug out from the corner, arms over her head as she simply allowed herself the chance to gather her wits again, she felt herself be grabbed by both legs and Ishtar was beginning to turn the Doctor. With a sharp, panicked yelp, Fab began to turn her body with it. Even if she was rattled, her instincts for submissions came in and she was able to hold onto one of Ishtar's legs and allow herself to not be turned. And then, she would take her forearm and attempt to blast the back of Vasiliev's knee, hoping to batter her down and keep her from being able to stay standing to lock in the hold!

Ishtar felt Fabulous' body cave around her foot in response to her kick, and then drop onto her side after the Russian rocked her square in the skull with a big punch. Ishtar would have simply kept pummeling her head until a knockout was declared, but doing so against a downed opponent who was stuck in the corner was rather awkward to do. The ropes would work against Ishtar twofold, in that they would obstruct her punching windups, while also providing an easy escape for the Doctor if she could get a limb to them.

So the natural decision for Ishtar then was to drag Fab out of the corner. But at that point, if you're already grabbing their legs, you may as well do something with that instead. And so, Ishtar would try for a Boston Crab. But Fabulous had managed to hang on well enough to resist it. She grabbed at Ishtar's own calf to ground herself and stay on her back. Then when Ishtar tried to pull her leg out of the Doctor's grip, she punched her in the back of her knee. Throwing the Russian off balance and dropping her down to her knees.

The forearm shot to Ishtar's knee seemed successful as the weight of the Russian's body went down, and so did her grip and leverage on her hold. Doctor Fabulous managed to crawl and scamper away to behind Visiliev, letting out an exhale of relief. She wanted to get the opportunity to recover, but she knew she couldn't allow it. Ishtar's speed and power was too impressive together to allow that to happen.

"Come on...!" said Fabulous as she pounced her weight on top of her back and locked in a headlock. She would then lean down and try to leverage her bigger opponent towards the mat with the hold, trying to keep her down, and hoping to recover as she was keeping Ishtar down towards the mat with the simple hold.

With Ishtar's attempt at a Boston Crab stymied, now it was Fabulous' turn to go on the attack. That would come in the form of Ishtar feeling a weight latch onto her from behind. Fabulous wrapper her arms around the Russian's head and started trying to wrangle her all the way down to the mat. Ishtar was able to catch herself by sticking her arm out onto the mat before the doctor could drag her down.

Ishtar could feel Fabulous' heavy breaths on the back of her head. She was likely trying to stall for a bit so she could recover from the initial assault that she had taken from Ishtar. But with none of her limbs restrained, the powerhouse recognized an opportunity to dish out more damage instead, and keep the Doctor breathing heavy. Ishtar would swing her elbow back into Fabulous' side. A simple attack, but Ishtar didn't need complex right now.
