A Magician's Prisoner...or a possible friend...

This seemed to get Ayumi's attention. Really she had nothing to sass her about this reply, as the last thing she expected going into tonight was that they'd find any common ground on anything. But hearing Piper talk about how Regina being a partial inspiration to her persona was enough to get a rare if involuntary smile out of the lips of the magician.

"You know, I...I actually can see that." Ayumi said, rubbing the back of her head as the airhead tried to form this into words. "When you were out there upon reflection I uh noticed you carried the same kind of confidence she does. It's uh equal parts frustrating against but uh fun to watch..." Ayumi said with a subtle blush, clearing her throat right after.

Piper really had no idea what she was doing right now. After how that match had ended between her and Ayumi the last thing Piper ever expected was for the two to be civil with each other, let alone getting along! Yet here she was, admitting one of the rare hidden parts about herself she would usually keep buried then expose.

And it was all cause of a movie. But Ayumi's positive and even earnest response helped quite a bit in making Piper feel ok with divulging such info. "Heh... yeah I guess its kinda obvious in hindsight." Piper said with a small smile before looking at the magician girl next to her.

"So are you like.. a big Zatana fan or something?" Piper asked, making a guess at Ayumi's own inspiration while revealing herself as somewhat of a comic book fan in the process.

Ayumi had expected to tease and make Piper do menial tasks for her this night, the last thing she expected was this casual conversation with a former rival. But Ayumi could not help herself as their mutual appreciation of Mean Girls seemed to show a shocking connection between the two; something added when the name Zatanna got mentioned.

"Oh you know her? I didn't expect that, yeah a buddy of mine in school showed me to it and ever since I tried to work some of her style into my persona..." Ayumi explained to Piper with a subtle blush as she never opened up like this to one of her peers.

Needless to say this was a new experience for the magician.

Piper nodded softly at the response Ayumi gave her about the girl's style. "yeah that makes sense, it shows." Piper said while leaning back against the couch, fully relaxing ever since the match had started. The unintentional connection between them forming something of a bond, however small it was.

But it was enough for Piper to feel comfortable around the magician girl. So she figured as long as things were as chill as they were... she may as well enjoy it. "You should make a cooler singlet or something. Really work that in. Maybe use more black." Piper observed, not being rude or snippy with her remark, but genuinely honest and thoughtful, a real suggestion for Ayumi.

This was new for Piper, in a way Ayumi was one of the first few friends she had in LAW, and it was... nice.

Ayumi was not sure how to feel. Earlier in the day she considered Piper to be an annoyance; a rival to humiliate and she had all these plans to really milk her POV privileges. Yet as this discussion carried on, those thoughts seemed to fade.

"Guess it is just I think I look better with brighter colors. Not sure I could carry black, think it...think it would work?" Ayumi asked Piper. And she seemed to have a certain sincerity to her tone as they relaxed to watch the movie together.

"Think you could carry move of Regina's energy. Maybe add a flair to your outfit?" Ayumi suggested, as it was becoming clear why she didn't have such desires to humiliate Piper as she did earlier. So no longer saw an annoyance or someone to prove superiority to.

She saw a possible friend.

Piper shrugged in response to what Ayumi said, leaning back against the couch and taking some more bites of her salad as she did so. "Hmm yeah." Piper said as she heard Ayumi's response to both her suggestion and the girl's own suggestion in kind.

"Its something I've been meaning to do for a while." She said, taking a break to drink some lemonade before continuing. "Outfit commissions are expensive after all." Piper said with a pout.

"Oh for the record though." Piper said as she looked over at Ayumi. "Black works for anyone. So I'm sure you could make it work." She said with a nod to the woman, and even a small, barely noticeable smile on her face.

This seemed to cause Ayumi to fully relax. Internally she had some doubts of what she was saying as she socialized with someone who had been her opponent mere hours again. "Can see what you mean."

Ayumi nodded at the black went good with anyone comment, and her own smile grew. Perhaps, this night would be enjoyable for a different reason. "And likewise I am sure you can come up with some stylish designs, you seem to have the natural flair."

Ayumi passed her own comment as she took a sip of her own lemonade. This...this was nice, the magician wrestler decided.

Piper nodded at what Ayumi said, feeling much more relaxed by the second and starting to genuinely enjoy the time with the magician as a whole. A far cry from where the two had started off from earlier in the night when they first met.

"Thanks." Piper said genuinely with a nod to the compliment and a small smile. "There are a few things I've had in mind, I'll show you them later if you want." Piper said with a nod to the girl as she sat back, enjoying the movie and... her new friend as well.

The idea that she'd want to be shared anything with this girl would've seemed absurd earlier, but in truth as they watched the film and chatted Ayumi smiled as the idea seemed appealing.

"Yeah..." Ayumi said, accepting that perhaps she had made a friend today. "...I think I would like that, and maybe I'll show you something I know as a thank you." Ayumi said with a nod back to Piper.
