Mai Trixie vs. "The Tapout Artist" Corina de Windt

Unread post by rogue-kiss »

Corina carried a cautious optimism that her match tonight would last, oh, at least three more minutes than her last.

Mai Trixie appeared more gifted and difficult opponent in the physical sense, if nothing else, but websites could not really tell a girl what figure a woman would cut when they stood face-to-face. From the gorilla position, she tried to peep into the hallway to see if she could spot her, but no, too many other bodies all rushing around for her to spot her opponent.

She scrunched her cute face in displeasure, but her cheerful countenance quickly returned. She even turned to a random backstage hand and leaned towards her. "I'm sure this one will last longer." she said, earning nothing but blinking and nodding in response. This match would be great! She could have no doubts. The rocking on her toes commenced posthaste with her self-reassurance.

Cori stepped out, and after a bout of smiling and flexing, she followed her tradition of blowing the flower petals she held in her hands across the stage. Flowers from her waistband (save one) were given to a half-dozen outstretched arms on the ramp. Ah, being out here among so much energy already made her feel optimistic that she would find much more fun in the ring tonight.

"Alright, Mai Trixie. Show me what you have for meeee~" she said to herself as she strutted up the stairs and looked back to the stage. Cori hoped she showed much more resilience than her last match partner. That would not be too hard, really.

This was Mai's time. She had worked a year on the indies, refining her craft, and now she was in the big leagues, the biggest wrestling company in the world out in Japan signed her because they saw her potential, they saw what she could do, and now she was here to make her impact, and no matter how slow or quick her ascent was, the world was going to know of the name 'Mai Trixie'.

Her opponent was a dangerous one however, a woman by the name of Corina De Windt, also known as the 'Tapout Artist', of which it only took one guess for Mai to figure out why she was called that. An expert technician, having won her debut match in just a minute. Mai would have that scouted!

Out came Mai Trixie next, who burst through the curtain and gleamed her smile to the adorning fans who gave her a decent reception. Waving and slapping some hands, the blonde soon rolled her way into the ring, and came face-to-face with Corina. A woman who was shorter and lighter, but a lot bulkier and defined, Mai figured she could use her size advantage to get the upper hand, and she enthusiastically offered a handshake to her opponent before the bell rung, a sign of respect. "Let's make this a good one now!"

Cori found herself nodding her head and tapping a hand on her thigh in satisfaction seeing Mai. She came to LAW to engage better and better talent and test herself to her limits, and her last opponent's inexperience and (mmm..how did she put it) lack of pain tolerance did not exactly fulfill those needs. If Cori wanted easy matches and lots of wins that did not push her to her limits, she would have stayed in her old promotion where the competition stayed thin, too thin. She wanted her matches to at least be close even if she expected to win them.

But Mai looked the part of top competition. Cori retreated to lean against the far side ropes before Mai entered, and from there she watched the blonde with a pleased smile. In her eyes, Mai could fit as a prototype. She could see wrestling promoters taking a lab bottle and deciding they had made the perfect physical blend of size, shape, prettiness. The image made her snicker at herself, knowing it was ridiculous. And none of those traits made anyone a good wrestler.

But she was oh so hopeful.

Without a teaspoon of apprehension, she sauntered over to Mai, taking the hand offered. "Oh please do! I'm counting on it."

As quickly as her hand had clasped Mai's, she pulled it back and bounced sprightly on her bare feet back toward the corner to streeeeetch one leg and streeeetch the other while the referee gestured for the bell to ring, and her eager look lingered on Mai.

With the sound of the bell, Cori stayed bouncy, and she bounded right back up to Mai with all the confidence in the world to throw herself into the taller woman for a lock-up.
