Therapy session in the ring! Barbara Vs. Doc Fabulous

After her humiliating interview and frustrating defeat at the hands of Casey Kiernan, Sparkling Idol Barbara wasn't feeling particularly sparkly anymore. She felt like she was in a funk, having not translated her success as an idol into success in the ring. The losses she faced shook her confidence and made her fear that her audience, her fans, were going to turn against her. Combined with how Casey had picked at all her sensitive spots in their interview, and how that lazy good-for-nothing had actually beaten her in the ring, Barbara was left feeling rather depressed.

This wasn't the first time Barbara had sought outside help for her psychiatric problems. Back home in America she had felt depressed several times in the past, many times due to her family situation. Back then she had her sister to help her out, good friends as well, and something of a community support structure through her church. She left all that behind when she came to Japan. Though being an idol finally gave her that recognition she craved, filling that huge hold deep inside herself, it came at the price of her mental health. That was the real reason she got forced out after being an idol for only a few short years, the industry messed up her head and spat her out.

Barbara tried to make the most of it by becoming a wrestler at LAW, hoping it would allow her to regain some of her success. But even with more freedom to do as she liked, her issues still plagued her. She wanted to get better, which was why when she found out there was a psychiatrist who was willing to see LAW wrestlers, she decided to take a chance and try it out. What she didn't expect though was that instead of a typical sit-down therapy session, management decided they would meet in the ring!

"How would this work?" Barbara said as she changed into her wrestling outfit backstage, "Am I supposed to talk to her while fighting her?" the idol had her doubts as to the effectiveness of this kind of therapy. She had heard of some sayings where people said there was truth in each other's fists, but she always thought of that as just stuff in fantasy novels. Now she was going to have to actually do this and see where this leads.

The idol stepped out onto the entrance ramp as her one of her music videos played. She still smiled brightly, waving and posing in front of the crowd as she came down the ramp and climbed into the ring, but her heart just wasn't into it and it showed. The crowd gave her appreciative cheers and showed their idol their support, though there was an undercurrent of worry as to exactly what her state was and whether she would be able to entertain. Barbara tried her hardest to ignore everything and just focus on the match at hand. She hoped whatever Doc Fabulous had to say and do would be helpful, because she was feeling just too messed up right now!

Doctor Fabulous was prepared for her next match up against an Idol girl. It seemed like there were a hundred of those running around, from her estimation, and from the research that she had done on Barbara prior to this match, her diagnosis was simple: This girl has a lot she needs to work through. But, that wasn't her job tonight, unless she ended up getting more curious. Which, let's face it, curiosity was what Doc Fab was all about when it came to her opponents. LAW had a wide array of deeply interesting people and she loved to analyze all of them.

Soon, her theme song hit though and The Fabulous One was ready to make her way to the ring wearing a doctor's jacket over her ring gear, walking out at Dr. Feel Good by Rania played and she took her time to playfully chat and pose with some of the fans on her way down while she made eye contact with Barbara a few times on her way to the ring, wiggling her fingers in a wave to her. And eventually, she would walk up the ring steps and step through the ropes before taking off her jacket, leaving her in her ring gear, grinning at Barbara from across the ring.

"Hello Barbara," said the Doctor, doing a few last minute stretches before walking to the center of the ring. "I hope you're looking for a nice match between the two of us," Doc Fab said, running a hand through her own blonde hair and giving her a look over to assess her personality, attitude, and posture in this match to see exactly what she was up against here.

The good doctor certainly looked fabulous as she walked down the ramp, sporting a well-fitted pink dress with her long blonde hair tied back in twin tails not unlike Barbara's. The idol wondered how good she was as a psychiatrist though, unlike most of the shrinks she saw in the past this one looked barely older than she was, and far too put together. But every time she went to therapy she had her doubts, and it usually turned out alright. Sure, this time she was going to do it while fighting her therapist in a ring, but that might actually be a nice change. That thought lightened her dark mood a bit, allowing her to put on a smile as she greeted the doctor.

"Thanks for coming out to see me doc," Barbara said, "I've been feeling really messed up recently, and I'm hoping you can help me out. Meeting like this in a ring wasn't my idea, but I'm willing to make the most of it, and maybe getting in a good fight would help get to the bottom of things!"

Barbara paused, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, let's have a good match!" she said, extending her hand. No cheap shots or bad intentions came from the normally devious idol, she was sincere in her need. And if it took a bout in the ring with the doctor to get things sorted in her head, then that was what she would do!

Doctor Fabulous seemed a bit disarmed by Barbara's words, giving her a confused look. She was acting like this was a session with her, like she was sitting in her office. She was under the presumption that this was a wrestling match, but it appeared her opponent had other thoughts. Normally, she would be happy to help Barbara out, but they were in a wrestling ring, and she was looking to win a match.

Hesitantly, Doc Fab reached out and shook Barbara's hand and then asked, "I'm sorry, what do you think this is, right now? Because I'm here to compete in a match, and despite the theme song and the jacket, I'm not exactly working both jobs tonight. But I'd be happy to schedule something in the future." With a smile, stepping back, Doctor Fabulous once again got in a ready stance.

"Right, of course, this is a match," Barbara said, nodding in agreement. Even if the idol's heart wasn't entirely in it, she was still here to perform. If what the doctor wanted was to fight, then Barbara would oblige. Who knows, maybe she'll get what she wants out of Doc Fabulous as she did so.

Taking a step back, Barbara raised her hands up in a grappling stance. "I'm wondering doc," Barbara said, "What makes you want to get into the ring and wrestle? Like, you already have a perfectly good career, do you just moonlight as a wrestler out of your own interest or something?"

The idol stepped in, lunging forward to lock up with Doc Fabulous, grabbing her and locking her up close with a collar-and-elbow, her hand reaching behind the back of the doctor's head to pull her in close. "Wrestling wouldn't be my first choice of pastimes, though I've grown to like aspects of it," Barbara continued, "Like this!" She switched her grip after grappling for a moment, grabbing Doc Fabulous's arm and attempting to twist it behind her back in an armbar!

Doctor Fabulous wasn't sure what to make of Barbara at first, but she was willing to be tentative with the girl. But then, she began to ask about the Doctor herself, giving her a bit of a pause as Barbara locked up with her, then promptly began transitioning holds until she was cinched into an arm wrench. Doc Fab glanced over her shoulder at Barbara as she began to move to ease the pain from the hold.

"Well, if you must know... I like the pageantry and competition of it all. Just because I like apples doesn't mean I can't like oranges," said the Doctor before turning and ducking under their arms and slapping Barbara's wrist to break the hold, only to twist under Barbara's arm with it held, locking in a firm wrist lock.

"If you don't love what you do, I don't advise doing it. Career fulfillment is important," offered Fabulous as she then went for a snapmare, hoping to nail the move before attempting to grab Barbara again for a standing wrist lock from a higher position!

Barbara barely had time to twist and enjoy the armbar before Doc Fabulous reversed the hold on her. Letting out a small hiss of pain, Barbara felt her arm get twisted behind her back, grimacing as the doctor worked on her joints. She didn't remain standing for long either, as Doc Fabulous then wrenched on her arm to force her to bend over slightly, before releasing, grabbing her head, and flipping her head over heels in a snapmare! Barbara grunted as she landed hard onto the mats, sitting up only to find her arm trapped again in a wrist lock, only this time the doctor had a much more advantageous position from above!

"Ahhhhh geez," Barbara hissed, using her free hand to hold her shoulder. "You're not the first person who's said that to me," Barbara said, turning her head to address Doc Fabulous, "Career fulfillment is nice when you're allowed to do the things you like."

Barbara slowly began getting back up, working her feet underneath her. "Problems come when the job you think is your dream winds up coming with a bunch of... Aaahhh... Annoying stuff that you don't want to deal with!" With her feet underneath her, the idol attempted roll backwards to reverse the twist that Doc Fabulous had on her arm and break free of the hold. Once she did so, she would kick out her legs and attempt to sweep the doctor off her feet to make her land on her back!

Barbara would then scramble over to grab Doc Fabulous's arm again, trying to bend it behind her back in a chicken-wing arm lock. "But I guess every job is like that, you just have to bear it," Barbara said as she tried to lock in her hold and start working on Doc Fabulous's arm once more.

The Doctor listened to Barbara's words as she was keeping that hold locked in, maintaining wrist control until her opponent managed to slip away. A kick sweep had Fabulous landing on her behind and her arm be controlled for a chickenwing now. Letting out a groan of exertion, she stayed calm, bracing herself.

Then, she would roll back, up and over Barbara until the hold broke, and the Doctor proceeded to grab one of Barbara's arms and use her legs to lock in a Figure Four Head scissor. Taking a moment to brush her hair back she sat in the hold, now addressing Barbara. "It is, in fact, the annoying stuff you need to deal with. And it's a hope the things you enjoy about it outweigh them. You clearly have an aptitude for this, and I think it's mostly about finding your way in terms of what about this you like the most and focusing on that. If you don't like the training or the working out, for instance, it's unlikely this sticks."

Barbara let out a grunt as Doc Fabulous began pushing up and muscling her way out of the hold. The doctor wasn't much larger than she was, but she did seem to have a bit more strength. Barbara maintained the hold as long as she could, but after a few moments Doc Fabulous had rolled them both over and has twisted her arm out of the idol's grip.

Abandoning the hold, Barbara tried to push Doc Fabulous away, but the blonde doctor got into position to lock her in a figure four headlock! "Nnngh!" Barbara grunted as Doc Fabulous cut off her air. Her arms grabbed at her calf, but there was no way she could pull those legs apart.

Barbara had another way out though. She brought her feet beneath her, pushing up and bridging with her hips. Then she twisted her body to the side, trying to flip the both of them over! Such a move should force Doc Fabulous to let her go, allowing her to pull her head back.

"It's not the training or working out," Barbara said after getting her head free. Her hands grabbed Doc Fabulous's ankles, pulling back to keep her from crawling away. "It's the getting beat up and humiliated that bothers me." Barbara would release one ankle, grabbing the other with two hands as she began to twist, torturing the doctor with an ankle lock!

"It's how most of my opponents look down on me and think I'll be easy to beat up and bully," Barbara continued, "I get it, I'm cute and pretty. But that doesn't mean they should think I'm an easy target!"

Fabulous kept the Figure Four Headscissors tight, keeping her held in the hold with great prowess, at least until Barbara had managed to muscle them both over onto their fronts. With a moment of respite as her idol opponent broke the hold she would transition into an ankle lock.

Doc Fab hissed out in pain. "Ahhhh...!" Then, Fabulous would push her front off the mat, knowing she couldn't stay in such a hold forever, and being the technician in the ring that she was, she had the most reasonable counter.

With a well-placed roll, Doc Fab was able to shoot Barbara forward as she held onto the hold straight for the corner of the ring. "Then that... Is what you need to accept, or move past. You can't always come out on top, and this group of women... can be a little hard to deal with," said Doc Fab, attempting to use her good leg to spring up and fire a European Uppercut towards either the front or back of Barbara, hoping to keep her stunned for the moment.
