If the character's profile has not been posted to the intergender roster, then you have no reason to believe they do mixed matches. Simply asking people and letting them know you're interested in mixed matches with certain characters should alleviate this and I don't see the difficulty in communicating/asking.

I don't think this is a constructive criticism. Probably doesn't belong here.

I'm almost afraid to post here again, but, this time I think I have a legitimate complaint.

I'm fine if you or a character you own doesn't do intergender/mixed matches, but, make sure you MAKE IT CLEAR that you don't.

Or ya know, you could just send a simple pm saying "Hey does __ do intergender stuff" And then be ok with a reply of "No, not really." It's not like it's such a huge hassle and takes a grand total of like...two minutes. And seeing that most of the matches on the site aren't intergender, and most people don't already have the label on their characters anywhere, it's a bit more of a hassle to go and put "Doesn't do intergender" on all of your characters just to please a few people that you've never interacted with.

That was actually a bad way of saying what I'm trying to say. Words were never my strong suit. Or maybe I'm just a complete idiot. Debate that amongst yourselves.

I have had several intergender matches with females that do not have a page on the Intergender section. I don't know if that is against the rules or not, I assume not, as such a rule would be next to impossible to enforce. With that in mind, the line of no mixed/mixed becomes as foggy as a vaping competition (Yes, those actually exist) It wouldn't take a minute to distinguish whether or not one has characters that do intergender or not. Now that intergender is slowly and surely on the rise on LAW, I think distinguishing characters becomes more important than ever.

Please keep in mind, I AM NOT asking that every female becomes available for intergender, because, quite frankly, that's just silly. I'm just asking for clarification is all.

If ya want clarification, just pm asking for it. But still same response from me. For new characters, whatever. If people want to put something saying they're up for intergender then they should. Or they can post em on the intergender roster as winner said since that's about the clearest indication of "I'm up for it" you're gonna get. But for people who already have rosters they're gonna have to go through all their characters and add something, in most cases "not up for intergender" which ya might just be safe assuming anyway if they aren't on the intergender roster. That's not really effort people are going to want to make for a rather small portion of people who could just as easily pm them about it.

but yeah tl:dr, much easier for the small number of people looking for intergender to ask about it than for the majority of people not on the intergender roster to add something to their character page.

Eh, I guess you're right. Though I do want to shout out those who DO make it clear. You know who you are.

As much as I'd like for it too happen, intergender just isn't going to be as prevalent as fvf. I just have to accept that. Nothing wrong with that, mind you. It's just how LAW is.

To be fair that is pretty easy. if they don't got an profile in the mixed division then they aren't into intergender matches

Help me come up with RPing Resolutions!

Unread post by FreestylePoet »

Six months ago, I made my LAW account. I still consider the date of my first thread to be my "real" LAW-iversary, but considering that we're still fairly close to the start of 2022, I figure I can make this both a retrospective AND a place for some New Year's LAW Resolutions.

So yeah, I've only been here a few months, and I've been super excited about all the plots and stories that I've come up with with all of you. Every thread has been an absolute blast, and I want to take a moment to thank you all for helping me get settled into the community.

That being said, there's a reason that I posted this in the Constructive Criticism thread. Even though this isn't what I consider my real LAW-iversary, think that this is as good a time as any to solicit feedback from my fellow writers. Over the past few months, I've felt myself getting better at writing and RPing in a lot of ways, but I've also become acutely aware of the areas in which I'd like to improve as a writer. That being said, there are known knowns, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns. My own biases and writing preferences may be blinding me towards some ways that I might improve.

So generally, I just wanted to get everybody's thoughts on how I might best be able to improve as a writer and as an RPer! I'd love to hear thoughts from both my previous partners and especially from those who are just reading some of my other threads. When it comes to planning, writing, starting, and replying to threads, how can I get better?

Any of my threads (I try to keep them as updated as possible in my characters' chronologies) should be good points of references, I think, but for those who might not be as familiar with my characters, I can point to some of my own. I think the threads that best showcase my style are Shiori v. Chiaki, Brooke v. Rose Gold, Satsuki v. Yuki (even in its early days), and Louise & Karl.

Feel free to reply here or DM me on the site/the Discord with your thoughts! Thanks for any time you might be able to offer!

TL;DR - I think I know what some of my weaknesses are as a writer and as an RP partner, but I'd love to hear some feedback from others.
