Personality
Jem is naturally extroverted, boisterous, and lively. She's very passionate about appealing to her fanbase and about using LAW to platform herself and other awesome individuals throughout the company! Jem is very animated and oftentimes she can be over-the-top. sometimes to a cartoonish degree. But her big personality and her ability to appeal to others have etched her into the hearts and minds of many fans and wrestlers all over. Jem tends to leave an impression on people, typically a good one.
Years of being an internet personality have made Jem wise to the ways of how to make a spectacle out of herself and others. Holland isn't above teasing others and resorting to slight mischief to get clicks, views, and hype behind big partnerships, feuds, matches, and events. But at her core, past her boundless confidence and her silly, nerdy, gamer-inspired antics, Jem means well. She's a very endearing girl at heart who wants to build up herself and others, and body some scrubs where she can along the way. Jem can be quite brave, sometimes to a fault. But she's not afraid to stand up for herself or others, especially her fans. Even if the odds are stacked against her.
History
Jem grew up in an impoverished household. Her parents had to work hard to make ends meet. As a little girl, it was always an aspiration of Jem's to become successful so that she and her family could have an easy life. Thankfully, she'd stumble across her hustle quite young. When she got her first cell phone, Jem immediately took to vlogging her everyday life. It started off as nothing particularly special. She was eager to share the mundane things. But doing so clued her dozen viewers into how tight money was in the Holland household. You could only talk about creative ways to spice up instant ramen meal dinners for so long before people start to catch on. A handful of folks reached out to donate. And after learning the basics from some well-intentioned folks online, a tiny Jem set up her channel to be monetized. With the small proceeds that came in, she brought her first video game console, setting into motion the events that would see her go on to become a successful video game streamer.
Jem was a hit online. Seeing her grow from a young girl with very little to someone of note online made people very passionate about her growth and her journey through life. She made a lot of awesome friends online, many of whom she got the pleasure of meeting later on in life at conventions and expos. Jem's parents were understandably skeptical at first. But the culture on the internet centered around Jem proved to be extremely positive and lucrative enough. She put years of effort into covering all of her bases, maximizing her online presence, and putting donation money towards better recording equipment and cameras. She improved gaming rigs. She collabed with other E-Girls online. In her young adulthood, she began branching out from gaming. Jem did makeup streams, cosplay content, and even workout videos. Jem earned enough presence online to attend IRL events and even host a few of her own. From giveaways to meet and greets, she worked tirelessly not just to make a career out of this shtick, but to grow her fan base whom she loved so much, and to make this a lucrative enough career to take care of her parents.
Jem eventually did make just enough to buy her parents a house, locking one down for them before she managed to get one for herself. Around the time she had done this, she was approached by talent scouts and business people at LAW. These folks sold Jem on the idea that she could expand her image even more by wrestling and streaming full-time, using one gig to promote the other and vice versa. And while it took a little convincing, Jem took that ball and ran with it. Her combination of bombastic energy and big personality, not to mention the huge fan base and following she already had, saw to it that she made a huge splash on LAW! Having been there since the early days of the company, Jem's known as one of the best promos and staple talents on the roster. Jem's been featured in big matches and PPV's. She's been put forward to represent the company in cross-promotional matches and events. She's one of the top merch sellers in the company. Many LAW fans, even those who weren't familiar with Jem before she started wrestling, couldn't imagine LAW today without her. Over the years, Jem had come to feel just as strongly about LAW and the possibilities it offers. After years of building up her resume at LAW, the time came for Jem to finally capitalize!
For LAW Apex, Holland had specifically sought out top wrestler and present-day LAW Heavyweight Champion Alaina Sanders. She laid it all on the line, choosing not to extend her expiring contract in the hopes of defeating Alaina at the biggest event thus far and capturing the LAW World Openweight Championship to put herself in a position to bargain! Fate had other plans, however. Despite everyone in the arena loudly expressing support for her, Jem ultimately came up short. The company took notice of her love and passion for the company and the success she had brought them over the years. General Manager Dan Defranco himself offered her a new contract with a substantial pay raise, as well as other opportunities, prompting Holland's latest makeover!
Wrestling Style
Jem is an all-arounder in the ring and on the mats. With her surprising amount of resilience/energy and a wealth of in-ring experience, she's able to control many matches with textbook wrestling holds and moves. Crowd support is an integral part of Holland's wrestling style. Jem tends to draw on the crowd during her matches. Even if she's simply wrestling a match on stream, she often acknowledges and calls upon her audience, evoking comments, subscriptions, and other online interactions. When the crowd is feverishly behind her, she seems to dig deeper than normal, pulling off feats of strength late into matches that she couldn't pull off normally without the boost from her fans.
Signatures/Finishing Moves:
The Ban Hammer
In an homage to The Hulkster, Jem channels all the charisma and fanfare she can as she hulks up and drops an opponent to set up for a Running Guillotine Legdrop to put them away! The name is a reference to the times she has to ban select followers from the comments in her streams.
The Million Sub Special! (Though we're way past 1 mill now!)
A Guillotine Choke/Body Scissor Combo that Jem uses to close serious bouts out by submission when she can!
Ad Break!
A Modified Lotus Lock in which Jem uses her opponent like a makeshift gaming chair and reclines to try and get a submission out of them! The move often gives Jem the chance to sound off and speak directly to the cameras about today's sponsor!
