Upon receiving her cue, the Eighth Wonder made her way out of the locker room, heading over to the ramp as she received quite a pop from the crowd. Folding her arms under her ample breasts, Athena watched Alexia make her entrance, waiting for her to join her in the ring. Soon, the two wrestlers were in the ring, and after hearing the other woman's condescending words, Athena chuckled and responded to her in a confident manner, "Is that so? That means if I beat you tonight you'll start out your 2022 career with a loss, correct?" She grinned, clearly unperturbed by her opponent. She believed that if she fought hard, then the match would be hers.

Soon, the referee made her way between them, making sure that both Alexia and Athena were ready for the match. Calling for them to the center of the ring, the referee then called for the bell, starting the match between them. As soon as the match was started, Athena would take a stance, holding her hands up in preparation for her clash with her opponent. Watching her opponent carefully, she would maintain the distance between them for a bit, circling her before surging forth, looking to start off the match with a lock up.

Alexia would just look at her opponent as she heard the other woman ask if she would start her 2022 career with an loss should Athena win. As the very idea was so stupid that it was not worth answering in her opinion as she would just smirk back as she made her way to the ring as she saw the other woman take her stance and just look at her. Both Athena and Alexia locked up with each other, and Athena would try to exert her strength as the two of them were pushing against one another. Feeling the strength of her fellow heavyweight, Athena would make sure to keep pushing as her boots skidded against the canvas. For the time being, the two of them seemed to be evenly matched, and they seemed to have entered a stalemate where neither of them seemed to have gained any leverage over the other.

Alexia was pushing forward with all her strength as she would get annoyed when she was unable to further push the other wrestler backwards. As she had figured it would have bin easier , but Athena was holding her ground as she just growled in frustration as she attempted to take another step forward as she hoped to finally break the stalemate and show she was stronger then the other woman.

Sensing the frustration in her opponent, Athena would stand her ground even as Alexia tried to push back against her, stepping forward in her effort to gain an upper hand over her. And then, Athena decided to shift tactic as she would suddenly release the lock up before seizing Alexia's head. From there, she would pull her opponent's head down into a side headlock where she would begin wrenching her opponent's head under her arm.

Alexia was letting her frustration clearly shown as she pushed forward in the hopes of forcing Athena backwards. As it seemed to be paying off as she thought she had the other woman where she wanted her only for the other heavyweight to let go of her arms , and move beside her in an instant. After a while, Athena decided to follow it up with a strike, where she would raise one of her arms up, the one that wasn't holding Alexia's head in the side headlock before she brought it down, hammering at the back of Alexia's head before letting her go, making sure to drop Alexia down onto the mat after inflicting the damage.
