The Young Lioness Cup: Gabi Pelletier vs. Rem Mathers

Gabi dragged Rem forward into a run, aiming to drive the bluenette's head into the canvas with a thunderous bulldog to really lay her mark on the match. However, her intent was pretty clear to everyone, including Rem, who wasn't about to let it happen without a fight!

"Waagh!" Gabi yelped in surprise as Rem's arms closed around her legs, causing the charging Lioness to trip over her own feet and go tumbling forwards. She instinctively released her foe from the headlock, throwing her arms out in front of her to stop her face from smacking straight into the canvas. Both wrestlers would tumble to the mats, and Gabi had to try and wriggle loose from Rem's grip - desperate not to lose the momentum she had been building up.

Rem's defensive tactic was once again a success. She had tripped Gabi and felled her to the mat, with a grip on her legs to boot. Rem's defense had been keeping her in the game for awhile now, she had to try some offense. Even with the struggles she was having, she couldn't win if she couldn't muster up some kind of offense.

Rem's came to a quick decision as to what she would try. Already having a grip on Gabi's legs, the bluenette would try to turn around and take a seat on her opponent's back for a Boston Crab. Of course, Gabi wasn't making it easy with all her wiggling and squirming, but Rem was going to make defending just as difficult of Gabi with her attack.

Gabi thrashed and flailed as Rem kept hold of her legs, but right now she didn't have any real leverage with her lower half all snarled up by her foe. Flustered, her training went briefly out of her mind as she struggled in an undisciplined manner, leaving Rem with a small opportunity, which the bluenette took advantage of.

She felt the grip on her legs, and the press of her opponent's backside to the small of her back and Gabi's eyes widened in horror. Not another submission hold...

"No-AAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIGH!" she squealed as sure enough, Rem locked in the Boston Crab submission, beginning to bend the unfortunate Canadian glass-cannon in half. She shook her head in desperation and bucked her body, trying to lessen the pressure before she could be made to tap out!

Rem's attack worked, and now she had Gabi locked into a Boston Crab. Though it was to be somewhat expected, considering the advantageous position that the bluenette was in when she tried for the submission. Rem hoped that this time she could hold her submission without her worries and concerns getting in the way.

But Gabi sure was not making that easy. It wasn't that she was threatening to escape or anything, the hold was clearly effective. But Gabi was such a screamer. And with every cry that reached Rem's ears, she felt her resolve to hold her submission shake and weaken. Rem couldn't believe herself, what good was a wrestler that was afraid to hurt her opponents?

But as Rem felt her subconscious fears starting to overtake her conscious desires, she knew she had to try something else before she weakened her hold and gave Gabi another free reversal. So Rem released the Boston Crab and tried to get down on Gabi's back to lock in a rear naked choke. If she locked it in, Rem would then shut her eyes. She hoped that if she couldn't her Gabi scream or see her struggling, then she would be able to maintain her resolve.

Gabi let out a gasp of relief as once again she was granted a reprieve from the submission hold, just seconds before she would certainly have tapped out. She didn't know if Rem was just taunting her, but it didn't seem that way. Not wanting to question her good fortune, however, Gabi slumped onto her front, massaging the small of her back with a groan.

That moment she took to try and recover turned out to be a mistake as Rem was quickly on top of her, the bluenette trying to press her advantage by entwining her arms around the Young Canadian's neck in a rear-naked chokehold!

"NGGHH!" Gabi let out a high-pitched gurgling squeak as the hold was locked in, kicking her legs desperately. Already sore from the other holds Rem had inflicted on her, she didn't know how long she could hold out in a simple move like this. Taking a tight hold of Rem's arms, Gabi tried to roll sideways with all the force she could muster, looking to keep rolling as much as she could until she could dislodge her tormentor!

In a vacuum, Rem's idea to stop herself from being able to see or hear Gabi's struggles was sound. She was able to maintain her hold now that she was able to keep herself from thinking about what she was doing. But this was a wrestling ring, not a vacuum, and so, there was another problem that Rem would soon find herself struggling with.

Gabi's escape attempt. She was by no means weak, likely stronger than Rem in terms of pure power. To escape, Gabi began to roll. She rolled onto her back, butting Rem beneath her, then rolled over again, and again. It seemed like her intention was to continue to roll across the rings until she was able to break Rem's chokehold.

To Gabi's credit, it was a clever idea that was working. With each roll, Rem found it more difficult to keep her grip on Gabi's neck. Rem knew that she wasn't actually choking Gabi anymore, so she had to try something else. She waited for Gabi to roll onto her stomach so that Rem was on top. Then the bluenette would swiftly get up off of Gabi, then try to body splash down onto where Gabi's rolling would take her next. A potentially dangerous option if Gabi wasn't where Rem predicted.

Gabi let out a choking squeak of effort as she rolled with all the force she could muster, yanking Rem along for the ride as the two Lionesses crashed around the ring. She could feel the grip on her neck loosen quickly as her desperate plan succeeded, at least in part. It took a few more spins before Rem's arms finally released their grip.

With the sudden weight being lifted off of her Gabi's momentum carried her another full roll, but she knew from her past mistakes in this match that Rem would be following up. As she rolled onto her back she shot out an arm to stop herself and looked frantically to locate her foe.

She found Rem plummeting towards her, looking to splash down on the prone Canadian to keep her momentum going! But this time Gabi had kept her wits, and more importantly, kept tabs on the other wrestler.

At the last second she curled up, bringing her knees up tight to her chest to present Rem with nothing but a solid boulder of a landing, which would hopefully wind the bluenette when she came slamming down on Gabi.

Rem had thought the worst that could happen was that she missed Gabi and landed face down on the mat. Something that the bluenette could probably recover from before things got too bad. Rem didn't think Gabi would be able to roll from her stomach to her back, see Rem and recognize what was happening, and then raise her knees over her stomach in response.

But guess what happened.

"GAHH!" Shrieked Rem as her stomach gave in completely to Gabi's knees. She fell down onto the mat next to Gabi and rolled onto her side, unable to do anything but groan in pain, curl into a ball, and hold her belly. Nothing short of an utter sitting duck, free for any submission, drop, or strike that Gabi desired.

Gabi could only hope her desperate move was successful as she tucked her knees up to her chest to counter Rem's attempted splash. She braced herself as the bluenette's shadow fell over her, but her luck held true. Rem couldn't stop her momentum and came plummeting down, slamming into Gabi's tightly packed frame with thunderous force!

She let out a grunt of pain as Rem's body collapsed into her knees, but the pain she felt was nothing to what had just been done to her opponent. She gasped with relief as Rem toppled sideways, landing on the canvas in a limp heap, utterly helpless after her ill-advised move. Gabi exhaled a deep breath, struggling upright and turning on her downed opponent.

"Sorry, Rem," she panted. "Better luck next time!"

Then she reached down, grabbing Rem's blue hair to ease her upright, before bending her forward and tucking the other wrestler's head between Gabi's legs. Taking a deep breath, she pumped a fist for the crowd once, then reached down and wrapped her arms around Rem's waist. With a yell of effort, Gabi would attempt to heave her opponent up into the air before swiftly bringing her back down into a thunderous sitout powerbomb! If the move connected, she would hold Rem there, attempting to transition straight into a pin from the power move.

"Ahhh," Rem continued to groan in pain. She felt her head get nestled between Gabi's thighs, and Rem also felt her opponent leaning forward on top of her back as she wrapped her arms around Rem's waist. The bluenette recognized what was coming, and also that there was no way she would be able to take it and keep fighting.

Time slowed as two things shot through Rem's mind in that moment; at the threat of defeat, Rem felt her violent side, her Oni form rising up in her mind. And Rem also saw the solution to this attack. if rem Reached a hand down and grabbed one of Gabi's ankles, the brunette would yank herself up along with Rem, she would fall and the bluenette would land on top of her. Then from there, the demon would feast.

The same demon, the same side of Rem that came out against Reny. The side of her that gave her the power to defeat her, but the loss of control that caused Rem to not stop. To keep going until Reny was bloodied and Rem was disqualified. That voice in her head that only saw red. That told her to hurt. To break. Rem couldn't hurt someone else like that. It wasn't worth it. So Rem pushed that other side of her back down and pulled her hand away from Gabi's ankles. And then Rem went up.

"AHHHH!" THUD! Rem went limp on the ground. Her arms lay motionless above her head, with the only sign of life from Rem was her chest gently pushing up and down with her breathing. Gabi held steady for a pin.

And that was it. Rem had chosen defeat over unleashing the side of herself that lost all control. It was a wrestling match. A fight. And Rem had lost because she was afraid to hurt her opponent.
