Demon vs Goddess: Byleth Eisner vs Ishtar Vasiliev

"I am so excited for this" Ishtar Vasiliev said to herself as she waited backstage for her LAW singles debut. She loved fighting alongside Noelle for tag matches, but just as great was the feeling of going it alone. With nothing to determine the outcome of a fight except for yourself and your opponent. A one on one clash of power and ability.

Soon after, Ishtar's music began to play, and she came out from the backstage towards the ring. She let the tension build with the song as she got to the ropes until it climaxed, and when it did, she leaped into the ring with a thundering impact that shook the ring.

Ishtar took in the cheers of the crowd as she strutted around the ring, confident as she took it all in before settling in her corner and waiting for her opponent.

Byleth was being matched up against Ishtar Vasiliev. Their physiques were not to different, though still Ishtar still held the advantage. Being the heavier and taller of the two. Being well studied on her opponents, Byleth knew that Ishtar was undoubtedly a power type wrestler. Looking to power her way through the match and win the match. Byleth not being the weakest, was likely weaker than Ishtar. Knowing that brawl would not be in her favor Byleth decided it'd be best to use her speed and out grapple her.

Now backstage, Byleth would have her music playing loudly on the speakers. Emerging from backstage Byleth kept her plain expression as she waved to the cheering fans. Showing only a hint of a smile when she interacted with the people on the barricades. A rather decent entrance, now at the ring Byleth would take a quick look at Ishtar and begin formulating a plan. Taking the steps up and going in between the ropes. Byleth would take off her hooded cape, not before shooting a rather intense glare at Ishtar.

Not being one to talk a lot in matches. Byleth would be sure to at least show good sportsmanship Lets both have a good match Byleth said more than ready for the bell to ring. Wanting to wait and see what Ishtar had planned to start the match.

As Ishtar watched Byleth make her walk down to the ring, she could see her opponent watching her. Studying her. Plotting against her with an sharp glare in her eye as she entered the ring. Ishtar knew that these kinds of people were the technical wizards, the kind of wrestlers who didn't care how much power you had, because they would never let you use it. These women were the tough fights for Ishtar, the ones who could really fight against her.

Byleth gave Ishtar a quick greeting before settling into her stance. This would certainly be a tough fight, but it would be a good fight, win or lose. "Heh. If you wrestle as intense as you glare, I'm sure it will be," Ishtar said as she settled into her own stance as the bell rung.

Though Ishtar had great brute strength, she did not use brute force tactics. She had never been foolish enough to assume she would get by on raw power alone. Ishtar stepped forward and offered a test of strength to Byleth, but of course Ishtar knew that Byleth would not accept. In reality, the test of strength was Ishtar saying Your move.

Byleth was careful about Ishtar's strength, so when the bell rang she was fully expecting Ishtar to rush her. It was a good surprise to see that, instead Ishtar decided to take a slower approach. Simply stepping forward and offering a test of strength. A standard way to start a match, but one that showed Ishtar wasn't just all power. Impressing Byleth slightly, not that it would show.

Placing her arms up as well, Byleth looked as though she was going to take Ishtar up on her offer. Inching forward with her arms, just as she was about to connect with Ishtar. Batting down Ishtar's hand Byleth would immediately quickly to Ishtar's side and kick the back of her knee. Hoping to knock her down, with the Ishtar hopefully on her knee. Byleth would grab onto Ishtar's head running forward and hoping drop her head down with a running bulldog.

As Ishtar stepped forwards with her arms raised, Byleth began to mirror her, looking as if she was going to accept Ishtar's offer to test strength. Yeah right, Ishtar thought. I know you know me. The only way this is fooling me is if you're actually going for this. Ishtar was looking for the fake out.

And as expected, once Byleth got close, she cut to the side and tried to kick Ishtar in the knee. "Knew it!" Ishtar said as she jumped back, dodging the kick. Now the match had really started. Looking to counter while Byleth was still on one leg from the kick, Ishtar would immediately jump back in with a spear at Byleth's stomach. If successful, Ishtar would get on top of Byleth and work her tummy more with some knee strikes.

Byleth was looking to get Ishtar on the ground early in the match. Being pretty confident on her ground game she was sure to show Ishtar more than one submission move. That wasn't the case though since Ishtar would dodge the kick just in time. Keeping her plain face Byleth was careful to asses the situation next.

Ishtar would take another jump back and run at Byleth looking to hit her with spear. Thankfully she was given enough time by Ishtar to return to a normal stance. While not being the strongest individual, she could certainly use Ishtar's strength against her. As when Ishtar closed in, Byleth would lower her stance and turn sideways. Grabbing Ishtar in the middle of her spear and scooping her up. Using Ishtar's momentum and power against her to slam her back down on the mat.

The point of Ishtar's spear attempt was that she wanted to catch Byleth off balance from whiffing a kick. But unfortunately for Ishtar, she wasn't very fast, and Byleth able to regain her stance. But Ishtar was still right there, it was too late not to commit, and just because Byleth got both feet back on the ground didn't mean she was going to be able to stop this.

Except Byleth was able to stop the spear and then some. Byleth ducked to the side and grabbed Ishtar as she was leaping at her. Ishtar tried to adjust midair and turn her shoulder into where Byleth had ducked to, but the Ashen Demon was able to handle Ishtar, and slammed her down to the mat. The slam also put Byleth right on top of Ishtar, so she immediately began trying to use her power to force her way up, refusing to give Byleth a quick and easy pinfall. If things went well, Ishtar would even try to reverse the position and get on top of Byleth.

Byleth's reversal had worked perfectly. Ishtar's spear had been turned against her, Byleth promptly slamming Ishtar back onto the mat. Ishtar was quick on the uptake though trying to muscle her way to reverse the position. A puzzled look came over Byleth's face as she noticed Ishtar's plan. It was hard for Ishtar to say the least considering she was in the bad position.

Byleth leveraging her position knew this and just transitioned her body to Ishtar's side. Pressing her forearm into the opposite of Ishtar's neck, while trapping her arm over her head. Trying to cut off her air supply by locking in a arm triangle choke hold

Ishtar's attempt to break Byleth's pin was an attempt to stop something that wasn't coming. Contrary to what Ishtar thought, Byleth wasn't going for a pin after the slam, so when Ishtar tried to come up, Byleth simply slid her body to side and started wrapping her arm around Ishtar's neck. Byleth managed to get Ishtar into a triangle choke hold, but she knew exactly how she was getting out.

Ishtar turned her body up towards Byleth to generate as much leverage as she could, then she took her free hand and fired a punch straight at Byleth's exposed head. And if that didn't make Byleth release her hold, Ishtar would just do it again while trying to push Byleth away with her trapped arm. Ishtar was confident her breath could outlast Byleth's head.

Byleth had locked in a deadly choke hold on Ishtar using her own arm. Ishtar would continue to show exactly what sort of wrestler she was. Aiming to punch Byleth in the head. The blow landing cleanly, though without nearly as much power Ishtar wanted. To compensate this, Byleth simply moved her head closer to Ishtar's making it harder for Ishtar to land a blow that would cause good damage. Still she struggled now pushing Byleth with her trapped arm as best she could. Byleth being stubborn in her hold made sure to tighten it now for good measure.
