Triin Liiv (D) vs Emaline & Killswitch - A Handicapped Heroine

Unread post by Jaystar »

Standard (handicap) match
Victory via pinfall, submission, count-out, DQ or KO

Triin Liiv was excited, but nervous. Excited because she was going to have her LAW debut tonight! While her time in AFW so far had seen some success, she had also been struggling quite a bit, and her record had not exactly turned out to look good at all. But that wasn't something that should have disheartened a valiant heroine! No, she just had to keep on getting in new matches, trying her best, and to put villains in their places... And what could have been a better chance to do that than her debut match in LAW?

The nervousness was obviously very natural as well. Having her debut in a new league was obviously exciting and a source of anxiousness, as was also the fact that she hadn't been told who she was going to be facing. She had only been told that it would be someone who would contrast well with her knight-gimmick, with the swords and all... And while that shouldn't have obviously been a show-stopper, and it wasn't, it still definitely was a source of some nervousness for the Baltic Knightess.

But as soon as the staffer gave her the cue to enter, Triin knew how to set her doubts aside, and focus on her debut entrance in the LAW ring!

Marching down the ramp with a determined look, Triin's hands held the (mock) sword she was carrying towards the ring. Not really engaging with the crowds before she reached the ring, the Estonian then walked around the ring, before climbing up by a turnbuckle to stand on the top ropes, to show off some flashy moves for the crowds with her sword. After showing off some of her skills, the knightess then jumped down and settled in her corner, letting the sword rest by the turnbuckle, and waited anxiously to see who she was going to be facing tonight.

While Triin completed her entrance, both of her opponents, Emaline and Shira, waited within the locker rooms. Dressed in an emerald green bikini, the former stood in front of her locker mirror, casually combing her hair. On the other hand, the latter wore a cyan bikini with pink polka dots. Visibly more nervous than her partner, she sat on her hands atop a bench with her gaze directed fully towards her prop swords laying beside her.

"Do you ever wonder how cruel management is?" The pinkette suddenly asked out of nowhere.
"N-no." Although surprised at first, the redhead managed a proper answer. "I-I mean, I don't see why we should concern myself about that kind of stuff."
"We shouldn't." The Emerald Viper bluntly stated. "Yet that does not mean that we should refrain from contemplating such thoughts. What kind of cruel man would book a debuting rookie in a handicap match against you and me."
"Well..." Killswitch went to respond but was interrupted by the arrival of a LAW official summoning them to the arena, prompting Emaline's lips to curl into a smile.
"Postpone that thought." She absentmindely ordered as she put her comb away. "There is a rookie in a ripe need of squashing."
"Yes!" Taking up both of her prop katanas Shira gave a spirited affirmative. Together, the pair left the locker rooms.

The Emerald Enclave's theme resounded throughout the arena as two its members walked out onto the stage. With a self-assured smirk, Emaline sauntered down the ramp, disdainful confidence characterising her elegant stride as always. Meanwhile, Shira tried to emulate her friend but glimmers of her anxiety shown through her strut, despite her best efforts. In an attempt to take her mind off the crowd, she started performing tricks with her prop swords.

Soon enough, the duo arrived at the ring. The Viper went through her usual routine of a lethargic yet graceful backflip over the ropes while Killswitch opted to simply clamber over them. Together, they approached their opponent, though Emaline stood in front. She crossed her arms and grinned as she appraised their opponent with condescending eyes. Yet she did not deign to introduce herself. And neither did Shira.

Triin was waiting anxiously to see who she was going to be facing tonight, and as soon as she saw a figure coming down the ramp, her sights immediately sharpened on it. But this time, it was rather difficult for her to comprehend who exactly was marching down the ramp...before she realized that there actually were two of them! Now what was that all about?!?

Triin's realization certainly did nothing to alleviate her anxiety. She could only observe with a rather concerned expression as the duo made their way into the ring... But of course, making observations could also turn out to be valuable! Both of them seemed to be some kind of redheads, with the other pinker than the other, and both seemed to be rather similarly sized, also compared to Triin herself. Although the closer the duo got, the more details Triin was able to distinguish, one of which was that the other of them was maybe a bit taller than her, while the other a bit shorter.

But the big question was, which one of them was going to be her opponent? To that, Triin actually managed to determine an educated guess rather easily. The management had mentioned that the girl was going to suit well with her knightess gimmick, so surely she was going to be the one holding the katanas, right? Though the other girl was the one who ended up positioning herself in front... Maybe she was a manager?

Feeling slightly disappointed that the pair who had entered the ring seemed to wish to skip introductions, the heroine decided that she needed to take the matter into her own hands. Seeing that the other girl still held her katanas, Triin also grabbed her sword once again before approaching the two redheads in the middle of the ring. Planting the prop sword upright on the mat in front of her before staring to talk, Triin strived to give out a confident impressions despite the turmoil inside her. "So, good evening. I'm Triin Liiv, the Baltic Knightess. And which one of you do I have the pleasure to slay tonight?" Her eyes were mostly fixed on Shira who was carrying the katanas, clearly signalling that she was probably expecting it to be her instead of Emaline in front.

"~Ohoho, my.~" Emaline let out aristocratic laughter as she responded in a pompous manner. "'Slay' you say? How presumptuous. But that is only to be expected from one who is oblivious to the nature of this match."
"T-this is a handicap match..." Shira elucidated succintly. "A-and hi... My name is Shira b-but my ringname is 'Killswitch'... You m-may refer to me as either or..."
"And you may refer to me as Emaline."
"We will b-be your opponents for tonight."
"Indeed." The pinkette snickered before she ushered to her teammate towards their corner. "Come now, I believe that this conversation has run its course. The knightly stepping stone has heard all that is necessary for her to hear."
"A-alright..." The redhead agreed. "G-good luck Triin. L-let us have a good match, yes?"

The Viper vaulted over the ropes and took her place at the ring apron behind the ropes. On the other hand, Killswitch put away her prop swords and limbered up in her team's corner, doing some arm stretches while she awaited the ring of the bell. When the bell did ring, she tenatively approached the Baltic Knightess. However, Shira did not go the offensive. She instead maintained a defensive stance with her arms raised, ready to block and/or counter whatever was thrown at her.

At first, Triin's reaction to the response to her question was excitement. The pink-haired girl surely sounded like a villain, and thus she would be a prime target for Triin to slay! But very soon her situation took a totally opposite turn... "A Handicap Match?!?"

Suddenly, Triin's level of confidence slumped to her feet and a nervous blush started developing on her cheeks. And despite her best efforts to hide it, her body language most likely began showing signs of nervousness. The resulting chaos inside her head ensured that the names of her opponents were left unmemorized, while the knightess was trying to figure out how to react to the unexpected turn of events. Frankly, everything that the duo said was left unheard before the mentioning of the "knightly stepping stone", which happened to pick up Triin's attention again. But by that time, her opponents already appeared ready to start...

"Oh... Y-yes... Let's have a good match!" the Estonian blonde mimicked Shira's words while she was coming into terms with the situation. And the more the initial shock was subsiding, the more excitement was gaining ground inside the heroine. Granted, a Handicap match surely was a tough one, but also a chance to show off her skills in her debut, right? Potentially, she could give a great first impression of herself... Especially, as neither one of her opponents appeared to be much larger or stronger than her! Besides, Triin always loved to be the valiant knightess facing the evil, no matter how hard the opponent!

Observing Emaline leaving the ring and Shira staying inside, the Baltic Knightess noted that the redhead had been the one holding the katanas. Thus, they should have been a good pairing in the ring! And as the bell rang, Shira began approaching her, but there was an air of cautiousness in her behavior, as had been in her words. Maybe Triin could turn that into her favor...

Closing in on Shira as well, the blonde knightess noted that the girl took up a defensive stance. Thus, attacking right away did not seem to be a wise move to make. Positioning herself right in front of Shira, the Estonian decided to see if she could outsmart her. "Well, then... It's too bad that you gave your katanas away... I would have loved to take my sword here to meet you and see what you are made of." the blonde began teasing her opponent a bit, curious to see her reaction or if her defenses would begin to drop.

Shira narrowed her eyes upon hearing what Triin had to say. "I-I know you're new but that would be cause for disqualification." The redhead answered without letting her guard down. Seeing no reaction or sign of offence, she decided to slowly circle around her opponent, still maintaining a defensive stance and completely refusing to make the first move.

However, as soon as the blonde had her back turned towards Emaline, she would loudly declare. "This is getting tedious." And push down on the ropes in a deliberately conspicuous fashion, baiting an interference. Should Triin fall for the ploy and avert her attention, Shira would exploit the opening and go for a combo, striking the exposed knightess with three quick jabs to the stomach followed by an elbow to the jaw.

Triin just grunted when she heard Shira's comment about disqualification. Sure, technically, she was probably right. But if two knights wanted to engage in a duel, surely the ref girl wouldn't be forbidding the crowds a formidable show of skill, even if there were some weapons involved? Both of them could have agreed to do it anyway... So where was the harm?

Still, Triin knew that Shira was right, and she had to fight with other means to success in this match. Following Shira closely with her eyes, the knightess was sure not to let her get advantage by getting behind her. Or well, that was true until she heard another voice from behind her... Glancing over her shoulder, she could see Emaline having gotten into a position to jump into the ring, and that demanded immediate reaction!

Turning partly around, the blonde knigtess pointed her finger towards Emaline. "You stay there, or- AAAGH!" Suddenly, Shira had begun delivering jabs to her stomach, with the Estonian having failed to anticipate it at all! As a consequence, the blonde heroine's body bent forward, before the jab to her jaw sent her staggering backwards! Barely staying on her two feet, the knightess was trying to gain some distance to her foe now... But at the same time her back was getting closer to the ropes, and not too far from the spot where Emaline had just been at.

"~Ohohoho!~" Emaline laughed at the sight of Triin falling for the bait, a mistake which lead to her eating a combo from Shira. "If the knightly stepping stone is prone to such foolishess, then I doubt that Killswitch will require to tag me in." However, as the Viper made her intentions clear, she moved along the ring apron towards where her opponent headed and cocked her shoulders, ostensibly poising to strike. However, that was just another scheme to draw the referee's attention who also took the bait.

With the ref's keenly watching Emaline to look out for any potential interferences, Shira continued her attack and attempted to punch Triin squarely on the throat while she was still reeling from the first few jabs and elbow. Should the throat punch connect with its intended target, the redhead would then grab the blonde and irish whip her to the ropes. If the ropes successfully catapult Triin back towards Shira, she would attempt a skull shattering drop kick.

Triin was still oblivious to the fact the Emaline's actions had been an intentional bait, she only cursed herself for letting her attention shift away from Shira! And while she definitely would have wanted to protest Emaline's choice of words in "knightly stepping stone", the fact that she was just retreating from her opponent now did not really give her any merit to do so.

Especially not after Shira took another punch at her, this time to the throat! Emaline having successfully tricked this time the referee, the brave knightess was left wide open for the redhead's attack, sending her even further in peril. And while the punch halted Triin's retreat, she became easy for Shira to whip to the ropes. Seeing Emaline rather close by when her body reached the ropes, the knightess thought that she would probably be much better off by catapulting as fast away from them as possible... But that turned out to only send her running faster into Shira's dropkick! The kick sent the knightess promptly falling to the mat, where she was left reeling from Shira's devastating early attacks already.

Emaline spectated the match play out with a self-satisfied sneer, especially after seeing Shira floor Triin via a dropkick. On the hand, Killswitch concerned herself with closing out this match. She crouched down next to her opponent before she went to apply a submission hold. However, before she could do so, she was interrupted by the Viper's voice. "Belay that action." She demanded imperiously. "Desist your offence and grant the stepping stone some respite."

Shira reacted to the odd request with a raised eyebrow but she acquiesced nonetheless. She then approached her teammate and questioned her. "W-why?"
"Because it suits our shared interest." Emaline elucidated airily. "Our respective wrestling careers will benefit more from displaying our prowess over that hapless little wrestler for an extended period of time."
"I-I see..."
While the two Emerald Enclave members had their discussion, Triin was given more than enough time to recover. Moreover, Killswitch had her back turned to her foe...
