Athena Wonder vs. Amy Evans - Battle of the Strong

After struggling, Athena was finally released from the choke, and she gasped and coughed, clearly weakened by the hold. She needed to focus on her recovery, or else she might end up losing to Amy.

Speaking of Amy, she decided to go for another submission hold as she put her into a position where she was then subjected into a crossface hold. The pain caused Athena to cry out in pain, but like before, she wasn't submitting, though she was getting weaker and weaker by each passing second.

"AAARGHHHHHH!!!"

Amy's grip on the hold remained as tight as she could make it given the damage done to her throughout the match. Amy could tell Athena was wearing down and she knew that at this rate she would start to see Athena's grit and will fade. She was tough but that only got her opponents so far before the pain was just too much to bear and she would either tap or pass out, Amy had to just hold it until then.

"Tch...You want to keep screaming until your voice goes away....or do you want finally end this?" Amy said, trying to ignore her own flairing aches while she kept pulling on Athena's head feeling she was close to winning this match with how Athena seemed to finally be fading, but the hold would not be let go until she got her confirmation.

Held in the crossface, Athena was in absolute agony, crying out in pain as Amy continued cranking up the pressure into the hold. Still, the veteran refused to surrender, showing that despite how disadvantageous her position was, she wasn't going to submit that easily. But it was clear as day that if she didn't submit, she might end up passing out from the pain. Such a thing would surely affect Athena in a long run, and with her being past her prime, resisting like that surely wasn't a good idea to begin with.

Even so, Athena decided to not let that happen. Even as she was trapped in the hold, Athena tried one last ditch attempt to get herself out of this predicament. Clenching her fist, she would try to throw a punch at where she thought Amy's face was. It was a move made out of desperation, and if the move failed, then there would only be one outcome for this, and that would be her defeat in a way of knockout.

Athena had been struggling for some time, it seemed that Amy had truly been able to break her down and was on the brink of ending the match in her favor. But no matter what Athena seemed to just keep trying to fight even as she was screaming out in pain and clearly about to suffer the worst of this submission, the blonde pulled on figuring that if she wouldn't submit she would still pass out eventually. Athena had to know she was close to giving out in one way or another so instead of waiting for much more Athena struck at Amy before this could go on much longer.

"Gnghh!" Amy groaned while head bounced from the punch. She had been surprised by the sudden strike not thinking Athena could do such a thing and it hit her right by her nose, making her let go to tend to her hurting face and saving Athena from the near end to this match.

Athena's fist made impact with Amy's face, and she was freed from the crossface. Gasping and wheezing, Athena tried to push herself up, but the damage prevented her from doing so immediately. So, she would try to move towards the closest ropes by crawling, already on all four. She wanted to reach the ropes so that she could pull herself up. Her body was battered almost to its limit, and Athena didn't know how much she could take from her opponent.

If she managed to reach the ropes, she would pull herself up and keep herself there. Getting herself on her feet, Athena would make sure to direct her gaze at Amy so that she could see what she was up to. By doing that, she would also be able to prepare herself for any kind of attack, though due to her current condition, there wasn't much she could do here.

Athena escaped her clutches for now and Amy was frustated by that fact, she had felt she was so close to a win once again but now she had to think about of something else to win. With Athena on the ropes Amy would have to wait and the ref was watching both of them making sure Amy made no sudden moves to get at her, not that Amy was going to, she had no intention of attacking now while she could rest a bit.

But she was making a new plan already, Athena would have to be on the defensive which meant she would be the one expected to attack, Athena would protect her body and her leg since those were what Amy had worked over the most so Amy would need to try and find an opening to attack where she didn't expect and stun her. Slowly she stood up rubbing her face and watching Athena for her next move.

Using the ropes to pull herself up, Athena huffed, her body throbbing with pain due to everything that she had taken. Still, she refused to stay down and be beaten by the younger blonde. After regaining some of her strength, Athena let go of the ropes, though she was favoring her unhurt leg, making her seem to be moving with a limp. This had put quite a handicap on her, giving her opponent more advantage.

Not that Athena cared. She wanted to show it to Amy and everyone here in the arena that she was here to win. Still favoring one leg, after taking a few steps away from the ropes, she would suddenly launch herself towards her opponent, arm stretched out as if trying to go for a lariat. But as soon as she got closer, instead of hitting Amy with the lariat, she would slip past her before attempting to wrap her arms around her waist in a rear waist lock.

With that simple move Athena had saved herself from disaster once again, she had a talent for that it seemed. Amy would slowly get back up to her feet watching Athena who while hurting was recovering just as quickly as she did and the two were up after another minute. When Athena finally moved she went back to use the ropes to pick up speed despite her leg hurting and Amy would prepare to dodge the incoming lariat.

Amy ducked when she got close, but in doing so she ended up falling right into Athena's plan. She never planned to hit her and instead got her arms around her waist and pulled in behind her, trapping the scrappy Lion. "Dammit!" Amy cursed, mostly at herself for falling for that. Her hands would go down and pull on Athena's arms to try and free herself but at this range Athena had her power and Amy had no leverage to use against her.

Successfully tricking Amy by faking a lariat before slipping past her to catch her from behind with a rear waist lock, Athena would tighten her hold on her, preparing herself to execute an attack. Amy tried to pry her arms off her waist, but Athena was already prepared for this. Her muscles tensed as she planted her feet on the mat before she attempted to hoist Amy up, throwing her over her head and sending her crashing down into the mat with an explosive German suplex.

To maximize damage, Athena would make sure to release Amy's body upon impact. Athena herself would end up on her side after executing the suplex, though she would quickly push herself up onto her knees so that she could clearly see her opponent after suplexing her.

Feeling Athena's arms wrapped around her Amy's efforts focused on breaking the hold to prevent herself from being sent into the ground with very ill effects, instead of keeping her from using it like she normally would. Ultimately her attempts didn't break the grip and before she could stop it she was off her feet without a chance to prepare and Athena didn't just lift her up but launched her over her with an exploding suplex that made Amy fly across the ring and land on her neck at one of the worst angles.

"Gaagh!" Amy screamed while her body rolled the rest of the way and ended up on her front, the crowd gasping in shock at Amy's unfortunate landing. Amy could handle plenty and even now she wasn't out of it but the way her head was spinning and her neck was aching Amy couldn't move herself much, slowly trying to get up but still prone despite herself.
