The Lightweight Classic Match 4: Morgan Frey vs Dawn Wilder

Morgan tried her best to keep her mind in order even as she was trapped in the cobra clutch. She needed to find an opening to escape whatever Dawn had in mind for her next. When she sensed that her opponent was going to transition into another move, Morgan would try to seize this opportunity, pushing at Dawn before attempting to slip her head out of her hold, avoiding having her face driven into the canvas.

If she managed to escape, Morgan would stagger backwards, hoping to put a distance between herself and Dawn. Breathing out, she would try to recover her bearing and composure, hoping to get herself ready for her next clash with her opponent.

Dawn aimed to keep her opponent overwhelmed by quick exchanges. The moment her purple foe could foresaw one attack, then the Canadian would ensure that event may not be repeated by approaching a different angle. By pulling Morgan around to prepare the modified bulldog, the shorter woman had more room to use her arms. Dawn proceeded to jump in the air in a bid to plant her opponent, however a well timed shove led to the blonde only grasping the air. "Huh?"

Unable to alter her flight, Dawn was only granted an uncomfortable landing. "Ahhhhhhhh! urhhh" Somehow upright and leg straightened, Dawn was forced to rest for a few seconds until she became comfortable once again. Provided that Morgan didn't exploit this opening, the blonde tried pulling herself to a stand. Mildly aware that the fellow lightweight was behind her, she turned around 180 degrees pacing towards her target with an outstretched arm. A simple maneuverer in the form of a clothesline.

Successfully escaping Dawn's hold and avoiding being brought face first into the mat, Morgan tried to regain her footing in order to fight back. She was currently standing behind her opponent, and as she recovered her footing, her opponent had risen back up onto her feet before she spun around, trying to hit her with a clothesline.

Thankfully for Morgan, she managed to duck at the last second, avoiding the attack from her opponent. From her position, she would try to close in and wrap her arms around her opponent's waist, locking her into a waist lock. For the time being, she would make sure that her hold was snug and her opponent was secured in her arms as she would try to come up with her next move.

The match didn't slow down for much longer as evident by Dawn jumping into the dray. Either there will be a prolonged chase or Morgan will finally taste the mat. She relied on overwhelming the purplette with flexible follow-up attacks, spinning around for that additional momentum. Her opponent proved to still be an agile contender, not only avoiding harm for a second time but also transitioning into a counter submission.

Dawn tried to run out of the smaller woman's clutches but the hold was already locked tight. Half a foot difference yet the Canadian didn't possess a clear strength advantage as if she was battling a chimpanzee. Her instincts took over temporarily, throwing a leg backwards to possibly strike Morgan in the gut.

Successfully avoiding the clothesline from her opponent, Morgan then went low and wrapped her arms around Dawn's midsection, locking her in a waist lock. She was thinking of what to do next as she squeezed her opponent's body with her arms. But Dawn had decided that she didn't want Morgan squeezing her as she brought her foot up and kick Morgan right at her belly, causing the lightweight to gasp out in pain.

"UUGHH!!"

Morgan struggled to maintain the waist lock, but thanks to the kick to her stomach, her hold around her midsection would be loose, and she was struggling to breathe, which would allow Dawn to continue with her onslaught.

Some additional strain on the core resulted in Dawn gritting her teeth temporarily, but even while hunched over she still had the ideal posture for a counterattack. After throwing a surprise mule kick, the hold suddenly loosened and Dawn made sudden progress towards slipping out of the waistlock entirely within a single step. "Very well..." Saying out her thoughts in then open. Nothing seemed too overwhelming at a glance.

Perhaps Miss Frey didn't take kicks to well so the blonde thought of gaining on the stunned purplette by spinning around on her rear foot, aiming to strike Morgan in the chest with a roundhouse kick at the risk of becoming dizzy or intercepted.

Due to her hold loosening thanks to Dawn's kick earlier, Morgan was unable to keep Dawn trapped in the waist lock for long as Dawn managed to escape her grasp. Grunting as she lost her hold on her opponent, she tried to salvage the situation as she looked at her opponent who had just escaped her. Seeing that Dawn was trying to deliver a roundhouse kick, Morgan would move slightly backwards, narrowly avoiding the kick that was aimed to her chest.

Believing that Dawn would have less balance after attempting to deliver the roundhouse kick, Morgan would try to capitalize on this as she would rush over to her, hoping to knock her down into the mat with a shoulder block. With Dawn still on one foot, she believed that the shoulder block would easily topple her opponent down, if it connected. By bringing her opponent down, Morgan would be able to gain an upper hand over her, thus making it easier for her to deliver more attacks on her.

Even without her semi-divine awareness she could tell Morgan was at least mildly frustrated by her waistlock being thwarted, therefore yet another hit could lead to some massive progress for the blonde and finding more of her opponent's inner voice. Due to the motion being foresworn and Morgan recovering just in time, the roundhouse kick was avoided.

This moment resulted in the moonchild remaining on a lone foot unsteady and a bit frightened by staring at the nearby enemy. She couldn't lower her raised leg down in time and tried hopping out of harm's way. Her attempts turned out to be in vain as Morgan ran into her like a bull. "Ahhhhhh!" Easily toppled onto her back, the sudden fall left the blonde stunned.

Running into Dawn with a shoulder block, Morgan managed to knock her down. Knowing that she needed to capitalize on this, Morgan would run past her, moving towards the ropes before rebounding from them, returning back to where Dawn was. She was planning to use her momentum for her next attack, and when she got closer, she would use her momentum to perform a running moonsault, flipping in the air before landing right on top of her opponent.

Thinking that her opponent might be winded and rattled after taking the moonsault, Morgan would then maintain her position on top of Dawn, reaching down to one of Dawn's legs, hooking it with her arm. She was going for a pinfall attempt. It might still be early, but she would try to test her luck and see if she could seize a victory early in this match.

As a result of the shoulder block and connecting with the mat, Dawn was trapped in a temporary daze, allowing Morgan to take lead once again. As if she didn't want to take too many hits already from the purple whirlwind. Dawn desperately tried to coordinate her body into a knee raise and possibly guard the moonsault, but she was just too late. "AUGHHHHHHH..." The acquired momentum coursing throughout the blonde's entire core, forcing her to wheeze out. At the same time, legs and head jumped up simultaneously accompanied by an exasperated expression.

She was pinned down and seemingly motionless minus constantly gasping for oxygen. Despite being winded she had enough in the tank to comprehend the current situation. In an attempt to break the pin, Dawn threw her free leg up at the hopes of striking Morgan in the neck. If she was able to avoid a quick defeat then the blonde would try rolling repeatedly towards the edge.
