l'Italia s'è desta: Silver Heart vs. Marzia Servelli

Velia did her final stretches before making her debut on LAW. For all intents and purposes, she probably would've never wrestled at all if things went the way her parents had wanted, but, they were a continent away, so there was nothing they could do. Silver shone like the moon, and it was about to blind whoever management set her up with: the only thing she knew for sure, was that she was a fellow Italian. She eventually got the cue to enter, and out came the one they call Silver Heart.

Velia almost felt kind of silly entering as Silver Heart to a band with the same name, but, the LAW crowd seemed to dig it, as she was greeted to a relatively positive response<"Making her way to the ring, making her LAW debut, from Florence, Italy. SILVER HEART!" the ring announcer bellowed as Velia entered the ring. She gave a simple wave to the crowd and went into the corner. Velia was never one for pomp and circumstance...

While Silver was making her entrance, her scheduled opponent stood back in the locker rooms. She was still and silent, her forehead pressed against the lockers as she took in a few slow, deep breaths to calm her nerves. This, she knew, was new to her - among her first singles matches ever since she began training under Gail Whitaker, and ever since she resolved to stop letting herself get held back with second-guesses and hesitation. In some ways, it was an intimidating thought - Marzia would be on her own, with only Gail's lessons to go off of, and she wouldn't have a safety net to fall back on. But she knew that was a leap of faith she was going to have to take. She wouldn't get anywhere from hiding behind anyone. That was behind her now. And when her last match against Lara Toshinatsu had gone well for her, she could at least feel assured that she could do something right.

All she knew was that the world was going to see a whole new Marzia.

"And her opponent, from Rome, Italy, MARZIA SERVELLI!"

As harsh, driving music played over the speakers, Marzia stepped out onto the entrance ramp. She bit her lip, doing her best to look out toward her opponent with a scowl as she balled one fist and planted it against the palm of her other hand. She wasn't used to acting this tough, but she knew at least what she was supposed to do, and she knew she needed to take her next step into this new world.

Storming toward the ring, Marzia glared up at Silver, pulling herself up through the ropes to lock eyes with her. There, she clenched her teeth in a snarl. "Hey, punk-! Listen, I don't care where you came from, or who you are...you're still going down!" Marzia knew she was dealing with a fellow Italian, but - although the better part of her wanted to get to know Silver better - she knew that was pointless. She couldn't let herself go soft, and she would have to deal with her like she would anyone else! She just hoped the conviction in her voice was convincing.

Velia silently watched her opponent make her entrance, and if she was being honest, didn't think much of it. In her mind, this bombastic nonsense was simply a formality. Silver Heart rolled her eyes at her taunting, "Typical Roman..." the Florentine said with a sigh, "Many of your lot undervalue Silver, tell me, will you make the same mistake?" Velia nodded to the ref to start the match already, the bell rang and the match was on! Velia didn't want to start off crazy, so she went for a lockup, hoping to crawl before walking, so to speak.

Marzia narrowed her eyes toward her opponent, clenching her teeth as she stiffened her back and tightened a fist at her side. Velia didn't seem to be taking her seriously, and Marzia hated that. Even if she might have been hesitant at first, now she saw there was no reason to hold back. She let her anger take control, channeling her feelings the way Gail had taught her. This was her time to prove herself, and her opponent was trying to shrug her off as though anything she did was meaningless! If Marzia had anything to say about it, it'd mean something...

As soon as the bell rang, Velia came in closer, taking Marzia in a lockup. Marzia returned the gesture, taking hold of her by the collar and elbow and beginning to push and shove up against her. She leaned in close in an attempt to steer her back, but it wouldn't be long before Marzia broke her hold on her foe. She just wanted to lull her into a false sense of security, and while they were close, she would strike, lifting her arm to deliver an elbow across Velia's face.

The lockup was accepted, but, something was definitely off about Marzia. She seemed like she could blow a gasket at any time. Velia wondered if it was in her opponent's natural state, or was it a show for the fans. Either way, she hoped for Marzia's sake that she learned how to control herself, otherwise this would be a short match. The lockup was shoved away from the lockup and Silver Heart was at first confused, only to be met with an elbow to the face. It knocked Silver Heart back a few steps. Velia countered withh a kick to the midsection. If this Roman girl wanted a striking match, that was what she'll get!

As she took Silver's hands and leaned in closer, Marzia's eyes narrowed, locking onto her with a glare. She was waiting for just the right moment to strike, so that she could make sure it would land with maximum impact - not just to slow her opponent down, but to make a statement in the process about how she meant business. Sure enough, it wasn't long before she made her move, pushing Velia away from her. The newcomer was distracted for a moment, which was long enough for Marzia's purposes, as she struck out with an elbow aimed at her head, landing with a crack!

Velia went staggering back a short distance, and Marzia leaned in closer, watching after her. She bent her knees and leaned forward at the waist, getting closer to Silver and watching for any sudden movements she might make. But she would be a moment behind her foe, as Velia kicked her leg out toward her, catching her in the gut before she could act!

The air knocked out of her lungs by the impact, Marzia coughed, doubling over forward and clutching at her gut. For a moment, her momentum was halted in its tracks; Velia had quite literally knocked the wind out of her sails. But she wouldn't let it keep her down for long - she looked back up with a huff, holding her arm up and charging straight for Velia with a clothesline! She was through waiting around to let her opponents take advantage of her, and she had to come out guns blazing!

Velia was admittedly a bit surprised on how well her kick worked, as her opponent looked out of breath, but, as she expected, her opponent let raw emotions take over better judgment an charged blindly toward her. Silver Heart prepared to jump out of the way, and she did just in itme! She quickly countered with a kick to the back of the head. Oping to knock her wild opponent down. If this was successful, she would get behind Marzia with a sleeper hold, hoping to wear her opponent down...

Marzia hated to admit it, but she hadn't quite gotten used to letting herself cut loose and venting her aggression through her matches. There was still room for her to miss things and make mistakes, and sometimes she wasn't paying as much attention to her surroundings as she perhaps should have. Such was the case when Silver lashed out and shot a kick at her abdomen, causing Marzia to buckle forward. But, as she looked out at her fellow Italian with a glare, she resolved that she wouldn't crumple, or let this slow her down. She would just let it stoke her anger - an anger that she was about to turn on Velia!

With fire in her eyes, Marzia came charging straight at the girl, her forearm held up as she prepared to come crashing into her. However, just before she could hit, Velia hopped to the side - and lashed out with another kick in the process, catching Marzia in the back of the head! She let out a groan as her head was knocked to the side by the force of the blow, and with a thud she fell to her knees. Which put her in just the right position for Velia to attack from behind with a sleeperhold!

Mariza coughed and gagged, feeling her head steered back as Velia put down the pressure around her throat. Rather than let this wear her down, though, Marzia was even more determined to break her hold! She glared back toward Silver with a snarl, baring her teeth in an attempt to send a message that she wouldn't let this keep her down. Then, she would swing her elbow back behind her, trying to hit Velia in the ribs!

Silver Heart didn't really expect to have her opponent go down this quickly, nor did she expect for her opponent to just lie there and take it. Italians had way too much pride for that. However, she did not expect Marzia to make this much of a fuss over one of the most basic holds in wrestling! However, all her fuss was slowly loosening the hold, and soon it became apparent that it hurt Silver more to have the hold on, so she eventually let Marzia out of the hold. At least for now, the two Italians were at a stalemate...

Marzia was letting herself let loose. In all her career, she had held herself back, trying to stay calm and assess the situation before her. If she got too caught up in her aggression, even in her drive to succeed, she was worried she would let down her guard, making a mistake that her opponents could seize upon. But that same restraint was holding her back from reaching her full potential, she knew now. There was no time for hesitation. She had to show everyone what she was really capable of, Velia included!

Grunting under her breath with each swing of her arm, Marzia hammered away at Velia's side with her elbow, and eventually the pain grew too much for her opponent to bear. Velia let Marzia go, and she bent forward, catching her breath. But she couldn't waste time. Now that Marzia was free, she was going to show Silver Heart what a real sleeperhold looked like!

She had always excelled when it came to grappling and technical moves, and that was what she would leverage now - as she spun around behind her foe, looking to lash out and snare her arm around Velia's neck to hold down a sleeperhold of her own! She clenched her teeth, stiffening her body with focus as she pulled back on Silver's throat to push her up against her chest!
