How to Throw a Punch - Katherine 'Drifter' Scarlett vs Tia 'Breaker' Langray

Kay found herself easing her stance when Tia once again took her foot off the gas not long after the Canadian was able to connect with her swing. A slight sweat began to develop upon Drifter's brow from the intensity of Tia's assault against her, but once more Tia chose to slow things down for a moment, placing her hands behind the small of her back as she began to walk towards Drifter again.

"I won't lie, it feels a little unnatural at the moment keeping the stance, but... it does make a fair bit of difference. I don't think I would have normally got such a swing in if I was fighting in my usual style. You came at me hard." Drifter replied to the initial compliment.
"As for tanking hits, it's worked for me all my life so far... when I began fighting I just used to get beat down all the time, so I started getting used to it, but I can understand that it's not the smarted of styles." Kay conceded.

Kay was taken off guard however when Tia offered to train her. The Canadian's eyes went wide at the sudden offer, all of this whilst the two were in the middle of a match.
"I..." Kay's words caught in her throat. The Breaker was offering to show her the ropes, and spoke with such authority and focus. Tia had been there and had done it all, having the accolades and trophies to show her career as a champion, leaving a legacy none would forget. Even now in what was probably the twilight of her career, Tia had barely missed a step in her skills. Most who looked to relive the glory days were unable to catch and hold that same fire... Yet Tia still had it! She'd made a fool of Kay during her barrage of attacks, and the only reason Kay was able to counter was because Tia showed her how to. Now the Veteran was offering to help Drifter walk down the same path as she had.

"I don't know what to say... it... it would be an honour! I'm not sure if I'm worthy enough though Tia... I'm... I'm not wrestling here for trophies or championships like others are. I don't have that same drive that you do..." Kay spoke honestly. As much as Drifter wanted to accept her offer, she did not believe she deserved it. Surviving had always been key to Drifter... the thought of gunning for a trophy or belt had never even occurred to Kay.

Tia nods her head hearing Kay story about how she got her style and taking hits, but a small frown appears on her face from hearing her say that she is not worthy enough and doesn't have the same drive to be great. Hearing that doesn't sit right with her at all but she knows that to people like Kay a drifter is all about surviving and drifting from place to place, never settling down and always moving .

"Well then... I see..." her voice clam and cold, before getting back into her Hitman stance a look of anger on her face. Cracking her knuckles at her opponent, this is the Breaker again she will break Kay out of that mindset and build her up again from the fires of battle she will get that drive.

'Then I guess I'm going to have to beat it into you Kay." Lunging forward going for a kick to the mid section, wanting to keep her opponent on her back foot she may have taught Kay how to defend but let's see if her tanking hits would hold true.

It was not the reaction Kay had been expecting to say the least when she saw a darkness and intent befall Tia Langray's eyes. The young lightweight wrestler had meant no offence, only trying to speak truthfully, but it seemed the Breaker was not satisfied with her reply. Tia moved with swiftness, threatening to beat some drive into Kay! She came forwards with great speed for an older woman, throwing a quick kick towards Kay.

The Canadian kept her stance, but the brief lesson Tia taught her was only going to go so far. She was unable to defend against the kick of a former Muay Thai champion, as it deftly slipped through her defence and crashed into Kay's bare stomach. She grunted out, doubling over for a moment from the impact alone, backing up until she was against the turnbuckle. Kay bit down on the pain throbbing though her abs, knowing Tia would be right on her. She had no choice but to rally quickly, knowing more punishment would be on the way if she didn't keep her guard up.

With her back against the turnbuckle, Kay looked to use the ring to her advantage, leaning back against the top turnbuckle to support herself before she leapt up and tried to kick both feet out against Tia as she approached... her hope was to drive her back and gift herself some much needed space to slip away! It felt like Tia was coming in for the kill!

It's seem her opponent has gotten the message now Tia is very upset but after the beating she going to give the girl, then Kay will be saying a different tone afterwards. Seeing Kay being able to block some of her kicks using the style she taught her but shakes her head seeing one of kick's landing hard in Kay stomach with a dull thud.

Before she can rush in and press her advantage on her now cornered opponent, Kay did something Tia wouldn't even have thought of doing ever in her career, as she runs right into her opponent feet sending her backwards giving her opponent much needed space.

Impressive ... But is that all you have or are you going to show me more..."

Kay was glad for the space. She moved swiftly on her feet to shift around and get out of the corner, giving herself a lot more space to work with. Tia was finally being driven away for a time after she caught her with a stiff double kick from the turnbuckle, at least showing the Breaker she was a quick thinker. Kay placed a hand upon her stomach as she approached Tia, favouring the area at the side of her abs were the Breaker's boot had clashed against her hard body. No doubt that would hurt later when the adrenaline began to wear off. Taking up her guard again, Kay began to close the distance upon Tia at her own behest.

Kay did not respond for the moment when the Breaker spoke. Tia's attitude had shifted significantly and the young Canadian knew she was being serious now. It was time for Kay to try and take some initiative and go on the offensive. Kay bounced on her feet a little, raising her clenched fists before she pushed forwards against the legendary Veteran. She came in low, before rising with an uppercut attempt. Again... there was something rough and unrefined about her approach, but Kay made up for such a lack of technique with speed and clearly had power in her punches.

Her first strike was easy to see coming, but her follow up was not, as her dangerous left hand hooked in with quick succession, trying to catch the side of Tia's body. Despite her lack of technique, Drifter's aim with her fists was good, missing bone and aiming for the more exposed areas. It was evident despite her rough approach that Drifter had been in plenty of fights and knew where her strikes would damage the most.

Tia is starting to like Kay more and more. Seeing this girl with no training, no style, just a tolerance for pain and punishment but still able to keep fighting back knowing she out matched. But sees the weak point in her opponent armor the side where her stiff kicked landed earlier during the match, to break her opponent Tia would go for it in a heartbeat... But that was a much younger her now she will test her future student again.

Seeing her left hook coming at her from a mile away, Tia does not block it or even dodge it. She takes it head on stumbling backwards from the brutal body blow. Feeling the power behind Kay punches and is going to plan on how to take away her strength till she has nothing in the tank left.

"...Not bad... But you still have a away to go.. she says in her stern tone, making the come on motion with her hands, waiting to see what else Kay got.

"Yeah I figured it's gonna' take a lot more than that." Kay confessed herself.

Tia's confidence was certainly disheartening. It was beginning to feel like the Veteran was merely toying with her now. Drifter was able to land a solid strike against her, but Tia was able to for the most part take it. True, the smaller woman staggered back, but if she was in pain from the hit she was hiding it well. The challenge came next, with Tia motioning for Kay to come and bring more if she had it.

Kay felt like it was a trap, but she was not one to disappoint. Kay began to close the distance a little, keeping her guard up as she approached Breaker. The younger wrestler looked to try and take her off guard, not going for a strike this time, but instead looking to attempt a takedown upon Tia Langray. It was a dangerous move, and no doubt would leave her open to a knee strike on approach, but if she could tank the hit, she looked to charge into Tia with the intent to bring her down to the mat.

If she could pull it off she would be on top of Tia and be in a prime position!

Shaking her head at Kay attempt at keeping her guard up seeing the cracks appearing in her guard and skill wise, but the child is stubborn and even thinks she is unworthy of training with her. Sadly she must hurt this girl.. but not to badly but give her the fire to get better in the future so that her name will be feared.

Seeing Kay lunge going for a takedown allows Tia to time it correctly, making sure to place her arm around the back of her opponent head and neck area. But she didn't expect the driver the girl had as her back slams hard onto the canvas breaking her already loose grip seeing Kay in the top mount, her own arms are spread out not able to put her guard up in time.

Kay was almost in trouble, as Tia expertly managed to hook her arm around her neck. A choke seemed inevitable, but Drifter came in with such force that when the two landed on the mat surface, it was enough to stun Tia very briefly from the impact, all but freeing Kay from Tia's grasp! Now on top, Kay had hoped to get a full mount upon Tia, but she had landed between her legs... it was of no matter however as her focus was upon striking whilst her foe was down and open.

She felt bad for attacking in such a manner as she had so much respect for The Breaker... but she began to rain down some bombs in the form of fists upon her! If Kay hesitated, Tia would probably take it as a slight and make her pay for it tenfold... no... Kay couldn't waste this opportunity. The young fighter postured upwards for better leverage, before she began to rain down her fists towards Tia's head in quick succession! For all the faults in Drifter's fighting style, she certainly made up for it with determination and a drive she didn't believe she possessed.

[The Riders]

"Damn it I'm out of position and and that slam broke my grip...shit I'm stuck right now." Tia thinks to herself, she is caught between the mat and her opponent not able to put her guard up in time due to her choke hold being broken. Knowing she is going to take some punishment cause if she was in Kay position she would have done the same, and not felt bad about doing it either.

Punches land clean rocking Tia face from the heavy punches being thrown, knowing that she was going to take them Tia was prepared to tough it out and endure. The crowd cheers seeing blood fly from Tia mouth and nose from Kay punches, but groan when Tia is able to get her guard up protecting her face and head with her arms. Getting her leg's up and start's to squeeze Kay mid section with a body scissors.
