Hikaru vs. Emilia: Climbing The Ladder

Hikaru was hurting and things were only about to get worse. The surging Emilia grabbed Hikaru by the neck and swung, taking Hikaru down painfully to the mat with a neck breaker! Hikaru let out a moan and cradled her head in her arms, kicking the mat weakly as she is down and looking to be out of it as Emilia had fully retaken control of the match. Things seemed to be spiraling out of control with a dazed Hikaru looking defeat in the face!

After successfully executing the neckbreaker Emelia lay flat on her back for a moment, panting for breath, her body sore from the toll the match had taken on her. Eventually she rolled, struggling to her knees to look down on Hikaru's stricken form lying poleaxed on the mats. A breathless smile crossed her face. She had this match won!

With a feeling of elation, Emelia quickly draped herself across Hikaru's body, sweeping the other wrestler's leg up to lock in the pin and nodding to the referee.

"ONE!"

Hikaru groaned and kicked as Emilia covered her, pinning her as Hikaru struggled to escape to no avail!

"TWO!"

Hikaru was really in a dire situation and as the referees hand was about to descend a third time she thrust her shoulder up needing all the strength she had to just barely break the pin count and keep the match going! However all she could do after was flop to the canvas, laying on her back gasping for breath wondering what she was going to do next...

Emelia was breathing heavily as she lay across Hikaru, sure that she'd done enough to put her opponent down for good and finally get a win on the board in her LAW career! The Scandinavian beauty felt excitement swell in her breast as the count reached two.

But before that magical third count could fall Hikaru suddenly found a burst of energy, just enough to twist her shoulder up off the mat to break the pin. Emelia let out a yelp of surprise as she was shunted sideways, losing her grip on Hikaru's leg and the referee straightened up, moving back and stopping the count.

"Damn it!" Emelia panted in frustration. She was already tired - what did she need to do to finish off her tenacious adversary?! Groaning with effort she struggled upright and took hold of Hikaru's ankles, dragging her towards the corner. Dumping her foe flat on her back, Emelia would turn and mount the turnbuckle before turning to look down at Hikaru. Then, with a yell she would leap into the air, attempting to finish the other wrestler off with a devastating splash from the turnbuckle!

Hikaru was out of it but was aware of Emilia trying to climb the turnbuckle. If this connected regardless of what the exact offense was it was game over for Hikaru.

Hikaru strained and rolled to the side, allowing Emilia to crash down hard onto the canvas! After watching the crash landing it was Hikaru who would try to crawl back over to the downed Emilia to cover her for a pin instead!

Emelia leapt from the turnbuckle, knowing the risk she was taking but also knowing if she landed this move the match was as good as over. She plummeted down toward Hikaru, ready to slam her opponent into oblivion.

But to her horror, her opponent managed to roll aside at the last second.

"OUGHHHHH!" Emelia cried as she slammed into nothing but hard canvas, smashing the wind out of herself and rolling flat onto her back, groaning in pain. With her whole body stunned from the impact of her ill-advised gamble, she offered no resistance as Hikaru covered her for a pin of her own, and the referee started counting.

"ONE!"

Hikaru was holding her breath as she kept Emilia covered, hoping the pin was secure enough for the win. Hikaru was running on fumes and knew that Emilia's crash landing had to have done a number on her.

"TWO!"

Was this it? Hikaru wasn't sure but if Emilia kicked out it would leave Hikaru in a very tough spot to try to figure out how to keep her down. Hikaru kept hoping against hope that the referee's hand would hit the mat one more time allowing her to steal the win!

No, no, no!

Emelia could do nothing, lying in a winded, breathless heap as Hikaru covered her, the chances of her first ever win slipping through her fingers thanks to her own foolishness in attempting the high-flying move. She groaned in dismay, trying to raise her shoulder but her body would not respond, too tired and sore from the match to obey her commands.

"THREE!"

With aching finality the referee laid down the final count, consigning the Scandinavian beauty to a fifth consecutive loss in her dismal LAW career. Her body sagged against the canvas with a moan as she was forced to accept her latest defeat.

Hikaru heard the bell ring and she rolled off Emilia, struggling to sit up before staggering up to her feet. She swayed as she stood, leaning against the ropes as she barely managed to win. Really Emilia defeated herself because Hikaru dodged her top rope dive. If that hit there was no way Hikaru was kicking out of anything. She gasped for breath and tried to take in the victory but really she got lucky plain and simple.

"H-hey.... you did really good. I think you should have won." Hikaru said as she was slumped against the ropes still unable to fully stand on her own.

Emelia rolled onto her side with a groan of pain and disappointment as Hikaru's weight was lifted from her shoulders. So there it was - a fifth defeat. There were no jeers falling from the fans this time though, she hadn't embarrassed herself, pushing her foe to the brink and in the end, being a victim of one poor decision to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Hikaru's breathless statement echoed her thoughts. The other wrestler's words were slim comfort to Emelia, but the match had been a closely fought contest, and a good show for the fans. There was no call for any undue unpleasantness. Climbing unsteadily back to her feet, the Scandinavian held out a hand for Hikaru to shake.

"I think the better wrestler won today," she conceded. "But it was a good match. I'd love to train with you sometime if you're free - I'm sure there's lots we could learn from each other." Given the nature of their match today, it was evident both wrestlers had weaknesses that the other had exploited!
