Calling Out Another Loser [for Bare]

As the LAW cameras came back from commercial, Holly Matheson was already standing in the center of the ring. An exhausted look on her face, the British Bombshell had a microphone in her hand and the Loser’s Championship belt slung around her waist. Holly paced a little, the laughter and mocking chants the fans had been using to amuse themselves during the break just now starting to die down. The fans had expected someone to come out and hand Holly another amusing beating any minute now, but tonight the British Bombshell had something to say.

“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen …” Holly said, to silence. She then fixed the tech crew with a glare, so that they would turn on her microphone. “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!” she said again, her voice picking up through the arena, this time. The fans gave some teasing cheers, some applause. A chant of ‘one, two, three’ went through the crowd, a reference to Holly’s predictable match outcomes, and she gave a heavy sigh that made her ample bust heave in resignation.

“As you are all very much aware, I’m sure, We Are LAW 2020 ended the same way that We Are LAW 2019 did … with me being sent home with this … bloody … belt. If you didn’t catch the pre-show match, then maybe you saw the photoshoot Suzume arranged. Or read about it on LAWFeed. Or saw the GIFs on creepy subreddits …” Holly let out a sigh and stared at her boots, while some fans laughed and clapped. She then picked up her head and continued.

“But! Stiff upper lip, the show must go on, all that. Because you see, while everyone might have said they saw the outcome of that match coming, they don’t want to talk about how close it really was. I had Suzume for two falls out of those five, and I have photo evidence to prove it! I didn’t win, but I could have! I showed everyone, that I can win a match, and I will win a match!” The laughter got too loud, at that point, and Holly sighed. When it died down, she picked the mic back up.

“Now, not everyone in LAW can say the same,” Holly continued. “In fact, there are girls in this company that have records just as bad as my own, and they haven’t been saddled with this belt. Girls that, for lack of an opportunity, could be in my position, now! And while I wouldn’t wish this thing on my worst enemy … Gemma … I am not going to keep going home and facing my family as the so-called ‘worst wrestler in the world.’ Not when I haven’t earned it nearly as much as other girls!

“I have been watching a great deal of wrestling, you see, and I have been learning names, and I have been doing my homework. There is one girl here, one that has been facing the same challenges that I have but is missing just one thing: this Loser’s Championship! Someone who has just as bad a losing record as I do, maybe a little worse, and I want that girl out here, right now! See, I have been told that I’m too timid, too scared … that I get bullied too easily, and that’s why I’m the Loser’s Champion. But there is one lady that I am not too scared to call out, right here, and right now!

“Piper Sherwood!” Holly cried out, turning to the ramp. “Would you please come out here, girl? I have something I very much would like to talk to you, about!”

”Hmph.” Backstage, dressed in casual wear as opposed to her ring gear one Piper Sherwood sat alone a table near catering. The look on the girls face was nothing short of dejection and frustration. “Sorry Piper. Its too much for you. Your luck will change soon.” She repeatednwith air quotes to a bored looking cater in a exasperated tone. The blonde had just gotten out of a meeting with management after requesting to take part in the LAWLESS title hunt. Only to be denied! “Your not championship material.” She said in a softer, more defeated tone while slumping her cheek on her hand. Looking at the tv in front of her.

She knew that she had a losing streak, a bad one. But she was trying! She almost won her laat match and she even found a trainer! Even swallowing her pride and getting help from someone that beat her before! Yet it seemed the moment she started showing improvement LAW staff thought it best to keep her from the spotlight! Ridiculous! “Ohhhh i don’t blame them...” Piper finally said while slumping forward. Not sure what to do to break this apprent curse she had. That being said at least she wasn’t the one with the loser championshi- ”Huh?” She said in a confused tone as no sooner than she thought of the infamous title holder said woman appeared on the screen in fromt of her.

Leaning forward Piper’s interest was piqued as she listened to the residential biggest loser in LAW’s monologue. Once again Piper couldn’t help but lament NOT being the one with that garish belt around her waist. At least until... the woman started talking about someone even worse than her. Someone she wanted to challenge to prove herself. “Hehe. Who can be worse than you la-“ Before Piper could continue the next words oht of the technical champion’s mouth were “Piper Sherwood!”.

Blinking at the screen dumbly Piper’s eyes widened, her mouth dropped, all the color of her face drained as her brain processed the words. Then her face turned red. Her teeth and fists clenched and her expression morphed into a glare. Standing up suddenly the blonde marched at a fast pace to the entrance ramp. Blindly ignoring all who called out to, laughed at or otherwise attempted to interact with her, Piper marched on with a singular objective. Protect what little name she had left. “Give me that.” She demanded snatching a mic out of a stage hand’s hnd as she came out from the halls and onto the ramp.

As she did the fans took notice and immediately began a mixed chorus of cheers and boos launched at her. Ignoring these she marched down the ramp while lifting her mic to her lips. “Ex fucking cuse me bitch? She demanded as the crowd oohed at her language. “You’re the loser’s champ because you don’t have the instinct to win or the skill. And your way too old to develop them now. Maybe you should just do everyone a favor and retire yourself and that belt and not bother up and comers like myself yeah?” She asked with a cruel tone and a sneer of anger on her face as she made it to the ring and climbed in smoothly. Staring down the older woman before her.

Holly stood in the ring, pacing around for a moment. She listened to the fans. Some were expressing gasping shock, surprised that Holly Matheson, of all people in LAW, had the gall to call someone else out to the mat. Others were beside themselves laughing, just waiting for Piper to come out and make Holly eat every single word she’d just spoken.

Holly paced, beginning to worry. If Piper didn’t rise t the bait, then the British Bombshell might look pretty stupid. The only thing Holly could think of being worse than Piper beating her up, right now, was for her to think Holly wasn’t even worth coming out to respond to …

Eventually, however, Piper did emerge. Holly breathed a sigh of relief, chest heaving so hard it looked as if she might bounce out of her singlet. Holly looked up the ramp to see Piper standing there, looking and sounding absolutely pissed!

“Too old?” Holly said, eyes narrowing. “First of all, you, don’t think for a second that you’ve got anything on me in age or skill. I’ve been put up against some of the most brutal women in all of professional wrestling, and I’m still standing. Your little bum might be younger than me, but all that means is that you have that much more time to learn the hard way. You come out here and call yourself an ‘up and comer?’ Where exactly are you ‘coming up’ to, little lady? Because going by the record, there’s about one place you are about to get yourself ‘up’ to, and that’s right here!” Holly patted her championship hard, to emphasize her point. “Being the next Loser’s Champion!”

Piper’s losing streak was something she held great and absolute shame in. Nothing anyone can say or do could get her upset as if they mentioned her losing streak. At first it was something she didn’t care about. After all she was just here for the praises and popularity that cane with wrestling. But as she soon discovered it wasn’t as clear cut as that. Instead of being the one people talked about as a star she was the butt of jokes, a laughing stock. The sole saving grace was that she was nowhere near as sorely made fun of as the infamous loser champion Holly Matheson. But now here that bitch was trying to change that.

Teeth gritting in frustration at Holly’s quick response Piper didn’t miss a beat as she raised the mic again. ”Don’t ya think you’re stretching things a bit there jolly ol crone!” Piper shot back, making fun of Holly’s accent towards the end as she made air quotes. “You think you’re the only one thats gone against some tough contenders? So have I! What you’ve done in your whole career I’ve done in a few months! She declared, knowing she herself was stretching things a bit but even so she persisted.

“You.. you peaked at this.” She said gesturing with her finger at the loser championship. “Me? I’m young and fresh. Yes I’ve been on a... streak I’d rather not speak about, but thats cause I lack experience. But I’ve got plenty of time to buold some up and change that.” She said before gaining a evil little smirk as she said one more thing. “I at least came close to winning some matches. That in of itself, is more than you can say as of lately isn’t it? So do me a favor and take that ugly belt, and you’re old flabby ass and beat it ya twat.” She said once again taking shots at a trifect of Holly’s belt, her age and her accent. The latter of which with a insult she had learned from a certain red brit that Piper was admittedly fond of.
