Naomi is a sports nerd and avid gamer of all trades. From her very first high school newspaper to her freelance sports journalism she’s always had a fascination with competition. Far more comfortable at home on the couch watching the games than actually taking part, she is an analyst and commentator with an eye for detail and a youthful enthusiasm to match. Generally cheery but willing to ask the hard questions, she always tries to strike up a good rapport with her interviewees in order to get the juiciest tidbits of information out of them. Beyond her professional role she loves a drink, is quick to call out perceived bullshit, and likes nothing better than settling in for a night of games, virtual or otherwise.
History:
Naomi started her journalistic career at the age of twelve when she wrote up articles for her local newspaper on the school rugby team. While she didn’t play herself, she was fascinated by the teamwork and the tactics, unusually insightful for her age. Discovering a gift with words, she soon started looking for more things to cover, writing up match reports on football, hockey, volleyball and anything else she could find, generating a stream of content that began to get her noticed.
At sixteen her best friend became embroiled in the local wrestling scene, competing in inter-school contests that Naomi dutifully followed. She soon found a new fascination with the wrestling discipline, the moves, the hype, the outfits, the sensuality and the fans gathering her interest like a drug. Her coverage focused in on those contests and for two years she became a local start journalist in the field.
Looking to extend her coverage of the professional wrestling scene, Naomi garnered a small following as she travelled to events all over the UK, her cutting words and analytical approach earning her plaudits among the community. Eventually she managed to get herself on a tour circuit around the Nordic countries and through Europe, her blog gathering steam all the while.
At the season’s end Naomi had a sterling reputation as a content creator, writer and all-around asset to the scene. With her freelance contract expiring, she was approached by Ark Triumph representatives to take up a post as a writer-in-residence, providing analysis and insight for their wrestlers while covering the wider league as a whole. Partnering up with the organisation gave Naomi greater behind-the-scenes access than she’d ever had before, so she eagerly accepted a rolling six month contract to cover LAW in all its glory!
From the lamest loser to the biggest powerhouse, Naomi is here to get the scoops on all aspects of the league… and while she’s at it maybe gain some valuable personal experience of life in the ring!
