Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
Match Type: Standard
Thunder Ryuko was not messing around and looking to keep establishing herself as a top lady in the wrestling world regardless of size or experience. She looked herself over in the mirror and smiled as she was satisfied with how she looked.
Tonight she was going to beat down that gaijin Kayla again, of that there was no doubt. Tyuko wanted to outshine her last performance by destroying the woman. Ryuko was going to out on a proper wrestling display.
As her music played the crowd cheered the arrival of the thunder empress. Ryuko walked down the ramp with a serious look on her face, and she was not going to go easy on Kayla even though the last outing was a victory for Ryuko. She climbed into the ring and kept a confident strut going as she eventually settled into her corner awaiting the arrival of Kayla.

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
As she placed her bags back in her locker, Kayla Grant could only keep her mind on one thing - and that was Thunder Ryuko, the woman she was booked to face tonight. It wouldn't be the first time she had been in the ring against the Wrestle Angels veteran - and really, that was why this was so important to her.
It all began innocuously enough, with the two running into each other at the gym - and Ryuko calling Kayla out for the trouble her tag partner, Ashley Daniels, was causing, despite Kayla herself being as earnest and serious about her training as ever. That had gotten on the Californian's nerves, and she was determined to prove that she could handle herself, challenging Ryuko to a match one on one. Unfortunately for Kayla, her pride in her own abilities had perhaps gotten out of hand, and when the match finally came, she couldn't keep up, leading to her ending up flat on the mat and eating a pin courtesy of Ryuko's muscle buster.
That was a loss that had stuck with Kayla for a long while. It wasn't just that Ryuko had brushed her off, or doubted her. It wasn't even that she had messed with her friends, or even that she had beat her in the ring, ultimately. If there was anyone Kayla was angry at, it was herself. For letting her temper get the better of her, and for paying the price because of it. Kayla was someone who prided herself as a capable wrestler, and that she had what it took to be up there with the best. But her arrogance had cost her, and it was one defeat she couldn't let down. She couldn't let that be the end.
She learned a lesson that day. Ever since Kayla lost to Ryuko, she was determined she wouldn't let that happen again. She retreated even from interacting much with Ashley, leaving the redhead to go on her own for a few singles matches, while she focused her attention on training and improving her performance so that when the time came, she would be ready to prove to Ryuko once and for all she was a force to be reckoned with. It had been a long, hard few months, of practically nonstop exercise and sparring - but now, it was the night to see if all of that would pay off.
Straightening herself, Kayla turned to the door. It was time.
As the lights came on and the music played, Kayla looked out over the stands, raising a clenched fist in a show of strength as she committed herself to doing her best. She proceeded down the ramp with a measured step, approaching the ring, and as she slid inside, her eyes locked onto her opponent, staring her down from where she assumed her place in the corner. She didn't say anything, but the look in her eye said enough.

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
"Hmph... maybe I need to take you seriously." Ryuko said innan attempt to get underneath Kayla's skin. In truth Ryuko was going g to be serious no matter what.
As the bell rang Ryuko circled Kayla before trying to lock up with her grappling and struggling before trying to transition to a standing side headlock! Ryuko was stating things off simple but on the right foot!

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
As she straightened herself to reach eye level with her opponent, Kayla's eyes narrowed, and she grumbled under her breath. While ordinarily, being told she was worthy of being taken seriously was something Kayla would take as a compliment, she would have hoped Ryuko would have taken her seriously a long time ago. But it was because she didn't that she was here right now - and she had to prove that the veteran should have started respecting her months ago.
"Hmph..." she muttered, taking a step closer to Ryuko. "I hope you will, because I won't hold back!"
As soon as the bell rang, the action was on, and the two women were quick to meet in the center of the ring. After a short period of circling, the two joined arms in a lockup, and Kayla grit her teeth, leaning in closer to try and bring her weight up against her opponent in an attempt to steer her back. But it wasn't long before Ryuko swung an arm around her head, pulling her in close with a headlock!
With the pressure mounting around her temples, Kayla growled in frustration. She wanted to show Ryuko what she was really capable of, but things weren't going so well for her right off the bat. She couldn't let this keep her down, though - and she was only motivated to fight back harder! As she sucked a breath in through her clenched teeth, Kayla attempted to get an arm around Ryuko's waist, whereupon she would try to pull her off her feet before falling back to take the two of them to the ground!

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
Ryuko was squeezing away when she felt Kayla grabbing her around the waist. Ryuko was in shock as she was lift up off the ground and smashed down against the canvas with a backdrop! "UGH!" Ryuko groaned as she crumpled to the mat in a heap, grabbing her head in her arms as she sat back up afterward trying to shake off the effects of the painful counter compliments of Kayla. This was unexpected and Ryuko welcomed the challenge although she was hurting for sure at the moment.

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
With the pressure of Ryuko's headlock squeezing down around her temples, Kayla had to grit her teeth and focus, fighting her way through the pain. But against an opponent like Ryuko, she had even more motivation to do her best, and to prove her strength. Though she was bent down, her legs tense and her muscles quivering to keep herself up, Kayla was still able to get her arm around Ryuko's waist - and, growling through clenched teeth as she summoned the strength to lift her up, she was able to counter, throwing both women to the ground! They landed with a thud, and the crowd cheered to see Kayla taking back some momentum against the veteran!
Kayla rolled onto her side, panting for breath. As she propped herself up on one elbow, she rubbed at her temples with her other hand, trying to nurse the pain. However, she saw that Ryuko was still down, and she had a clear shot to get a move in on her. Turning herself around, Kayla grabbed for Ryuko's arm, hoping to pull it between her legs as she draped them over her chest for an armbar! Hopefully, by weakening her early, she'd better her own chances of success!

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
Ryuko groaned as she was on the mat, but Kayla managed to grab her arm and catch Ryuko in an arm bar! "NGH! Damn it!" Ryuko grunted as she found herself stuck in a nasty hold very early on. Ryuko leaned into the hold twisting her body and using her free arm to pull back, taking away the pressure of the hold. She was still stuck but the agonizing pain was gone now, allowing Ryuko to buy herself some breathing room. She hoped Kayla would abandon the hold since it wasn't effective at this point but Ryuko also had to be ready had Kayla tried to transition into something else.

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
Ryuko had hit the ground, but Kayla knew she couldn't leave it at that. The match was only just beginning, and she needed to give it her all if she wanted to truly prove once and for all that she was every part capable of standing up to Ryuko. Now that she had gone down, Kayla had to seize on the position - and she was quick to lay herself on top of her, bringing her arm up between her legs as she held down the pressure on the joint. She leaned back further, gritting her teeth as she tried to mount as much pressure as she could. And, so far, things looked to be working out well enough for her.
She knew that Ryuko would be in trouble now; while she was sure that such a proud veteran wouldn't tap to this so early in the match, Kayla was confident that she would be at a disadvantage if her arm was targeted. But as time went on, and Ryuko still hadn't broken free, Kayla was left considering how she could turn her opponent's predicament into something even worse. Rolling her weight to the side, Kayla let go of Ryuko just enough to get her onto her stomach, hoping that her opponent would be stunned enough to allow for her to set up another hold.

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
Ryuko was surprised by the roll but she wrestled long enough to know that she had to scramble back up to her feet. Kayla was in better position and ready to pounce however. The most Ryuko could do was prepare herself and think on her feet hoping she would have a technical counter to whatever it was that Kayla was trying to do! This match saw a much more focused, determined Kayla than last time. Ryuko had been caught off guard but once she recovered she was sure she was going to make Kayla pay.

Re: Kayla vs. Ryuko Rematch!
In rolling Ryuko over, Kayla was prepared to get behind her so that she could work at her other arm, one by one weakening her joints and helping to ensure that her efforts to stand up to her later in the match would be considerably impaired. She just needed to get in the right position in order to move on to her next target - but the match had only just begun, and Ryuko still had energy to spare. Before Kayla could capitalize, she pulled herself to her feet, leaving the Californian looking up at her looming overhead as she rolled up to her knees.
Her eyes narrowed, Kayla grumbled in frustration. Still, it would only be a minor setback to her plans, and she could just as easily get Ryuko down again. Now that she was at the level of her legs, she was well within reach to sweep Ryuko's footing out from under her - and she lunged forward, looking to tackle Ryuko and throw her arms around her legs to perform a takedown!
