The art of slamming

Karin pressed her feet into the ground and shoved herself backwards. She was only dragging herself slowly onto the belly of lauren as she reached out to the side and grabbed the leg of the veteran wrestler. Slowly Karin would lift the leg up into the air and would try to pin her opponent right there.
“Count it!” would Karin say as loudly as she could, hopping she had enough air left in her lungs that peggy would hear her.

Lauren howled in pain, unable to stifle her cry. It was nearly as if she were outright crying she were in so much pain. Her free leg limply flopped to the mat, her thigh quaking with each impact. She had nowhere near enough in her to kick out and this was more a futile sign of anguish than anything.

Peggy climbed through the ropes and got in position, slapping the mat once.

"ONE!"

Peggy took her sweet time, raising her arm back up clearly trying to buy time for Lauren!

"TWO!"

Peggy watched and raised her arm up again this time stopping as she held it high, urging Lauren to keep trying and kick out! All Lauren did was flop about, still no closer to kicking out than before. An exasperated, angry Peggy brought her hand down a third time slapping the mat.

"THREE!"

With that Karin had soundly defeated both members of Irish old school in the gym, leaving both Peggy and Lauren with not only crushed pride but deflated confidence. How did Karin just run through them like that? Peggy moved over and grabbed Karin by the hair, shoving her off of Lauren before trying to help the defeated blonde to her feet.

Karin would look up to see how peggy was coming over and reached down. The small girl smirked for a moment thinking peggy would come to help her up. The Japanese girl would reach upwards, trying to go for the hand of Peggy. But instead peggy would grab her hair and yank her off Lauren. The small girl would fall to her side and rubbed her head for a moment. “ouch… did you have to be so rough?” would Karin as slowly sit up. She would grind her teeth while sitting up. “again a great match Lauren!” would Karin try to complement the big woman with a smile on her face.

Lauren groaned and hobbled, barely able to stand even with the help help of Peggy. "Yeah.... you beat both of us with ease so it was great. For you. No matter what we do we lose over and over. We try our best and do worse! We lose gauntlet marches, handicap matches you name it!" Lauren shouted, the combined frustrations of Peggy and Lsuren both boiling over manifesting in Lauren's rant.

Karin would be taken back for a moment as she would be shouted at by Lauren. The small girl didn't knew why Lauren was exploding all the sudden at her. But she would try her best to get up to her feet not wanting to be talked down to. She looked Lauren right into the eyes. "And you think this is my fault?" Would she reply in a calm manner. "You think I am the cause of your downward stream of loses?"

"Fuck you!" Karin looked at the woman with an angry look. "I used to look up to you! Not because you were the best in the ring, or the most talented wrestler. No I looked up to you because you were strong enough to get up after every slam you took, after every defeat and fight again and again." Karin would start to shake her head. "But Seems Like I looked up to the wrong person... I know how much it is to be down. I was on the very bottom too!"

Now it was Lauren's turn to be quiet and listen. Both her and Peggy looked at each other, but this time there was much less anger there. After a second it was Lauren again who began to speak.

"No, it isn't your fault but you are a beautiful, fit, young wrestler with a bright future ahead. You aren't old and flabby. You don't have the audience laugh at you for how you look. The bosses tell us we need to win because we aren't as marketable, low key fat shaming us. We struggle and try but can't seem to win, that I know you understand because you were saddled with the losers belt even though you aren't a loser. But having everything going against us only to lose over and over even when we both are fighting one person takes a toll." Lauren said, hoping that she finally got through to Karin. She knew Karin understood the losing part but a lovely young lady like her was always going to have a fanfare that Lauren and Peggy could only dream of.

“hey you two at least didn´t get hired because you were cute. You guys are names that are well known not only in law. You are irish oldschool. You aren´t some old couple of wrestlers who overstep their pride. You two slam harder than Jessica and Kyoko together! You two have more personality in the ring then Lillian. Both of you are wonderful people, at least most of the time.” Karin jumped down and would land on her feet.
“you know what is wrong with you two? You two forgot how it is to be on the bottom. You two were on top when your young, but you forgot how to get there. What it takes… And now when it actually takes the work you two want to chicken out?” Karin would stare Peggy into the eyes. “that’s it your just want to chicken out and not put in the work it needs. YOU two CAN become champs again, you can get back to the top!” She would turn around to Lauren. “you just have to want it, you just have to want to put in the work!” Karin would start ot slowly back away from lauren. “I did look up to you two… I really did!” would she say ready to walk off, somehow almost feeling like her heart got broken.

Peggy's jaw dropped as Karin spoke. "Are ya kidding me? Do you have any idea how much time we spend here? Ya say we don't work without actually knowing what you are talkin' about!" She shouted back, clearly angry and pacing back and forth, with Lauren holding her back with her hands on Peggy's shoulders. Karin dragged herself up from the bottom but for her to doubt what Peggy and her partner had done to try to do the same just made Peggy's blood boil.

Lauren shook her head and did feel the same way Peggy did but she also knew what Karin meant. "Look.... you think too highly of us that is it. We were never champions anywhere. We have always been at the bottom and we have done everything we can do win, we are in this gym more than anyone even if we are flubbery, shaky and look out of shape. No titles, no accolades, the only thing that really keeps us going is the small fan following that seem to like us no matter how much we lose. The bosses can't stand us since we just aren't marketable to the masses like you are. Unless we start winning soon we don't have any sort of future here or anywhere else in a ring." Lauren added as Karin had turned to leave.

Karin would simply shake her head and didn´t even look back. She was done with the two. She was fully understanding that they were done.
“I got that, trust me!” She would look over her shoulder. “if you ever need someone to work out with or train with feel free to call me! BUT DON`T you dare start to bitch at me again! It´s not my fault, its not anyone else fault. It´s not your fault that the management is made up out of people with only money on their mind and heads up their asses! Don´t get angry at me for that.” Karin would say starting to walk away from the two needing to cool herself off now.
