Kirie Tsukada vs. Roana Abrantes [D]

As it so happened, Kirie had evidently overestimated how ready her opponent would be to strike back. With how confidently Roana had been goading her into coming closer, she was sure that she would have something up her sleeve - but instead, the pink-haired girl would find her entirely unprepared, even as her fist came closing in on her face. While she managed to dodge, she slipped up in doing so, landing on her ass - and that only caused her to burst out laughing.

All in all, Kirie was quite confused. She had to tilt her head toward Roana, looking on baffled, and coming from Kirie, the fact that she was caught off-guard by an opponent's eccentricities was quite an accomplishment. "Ehh? What's so funny?" Nevertheless, Kirie couldn't lose sight of her goal. With Roana down, she now had a golden opportunity to take back some control for herself. Circling behind her opponent, Kirie would kneel behind her before throwing her arm under Roana's chin and squeezing around her head to apply pressure in a reverse chinlock!

Roana could tell that Kiara had the sense of humor of a gnat, but, she did at least know how to take advantage of a presented opportunity and soon Roana found herself in a chinlock. Though, Kiara didn't look like the strongest girl in the world, but the lock did its job in slowing down La Matadora for the time being. How long that would last, was anyone's guess, as Roana began clawing at Kiara's arms, trying to break free...

Kirie might not have been the largest or strongest girl on the LAW roster, but she did know her way around submission holds. When it came to manipulating joints, controlling her opponent's movements, or applying pressure to the airways to sap strength and stamina, Kirie had the skills to turn a good few matches to her favor, and it had paid off well for her in the past. When she really got into it, the promise of being able to hurt and humble her opponents gave her an almost sadistic excitement, and now, as she had her arm around Roana's chin and was clamping down hard, she was feeling that set in. A smirk came over her face as she felt her struggle. After Roana's speed had given Kirie so much trouble up to this point, it was all the more satisfying to see her go down.

"There! Maybe NOW you'll sit still for once-!" Kirie hissed under her breath. She tried to squeeze harder, flexing the muscles in her arms to come down with even greater pressure - but that was where she felt something else, as Roana's fingers wrapped around her arms, her nails digging into the pink-haired girl's flesh. Kirie let out a yelp, the sudden jolt of pain getting her to ease up. But she didn't let go - in fact, she had bigger things in mind! Adjusting her position, Kirie would let go of Roana's chin with one arm, while her other would fall into place around her neck. It was this arm that squeezed down as Kirie hauled back on her neck as she used her free hand to compress her head from behind, going to put La Matadora into a dragon sleeper!

Roana hated to admit it, but, Kirie knew what she was doing, as this kind of move was perfect for grounding a high-speed fighter like herself. Still, she didn't plan on giving up, not on her first match here. Still, Kirie wasn't finished yet, as she soon found herself bent over backwards in a rear naked choke hold! Roana, not one to shy away from...unconventional ways of escaping holds, decided to grab Kirie's butt, hoping the shock would make her let go...

When it came to speed, there was no question that Roana had the edge. As long as she had the freedom to move around, she was capable of quite literally running circles around Kirie, and the pink-haired girl was hopeless to catch up to her. By contrast, a submission specialist like Kirie needed her opponents to be open and vulnerable, so that she had the chance to get her hands on them and subject them to her punishing holds. Her primary objective in this match was going to be to keep Roana in place so that she could put the pressure on her, but once that happened, her command of holds could easily cripple a speedster like Roana, locking her in place and crippling her joints. Now that she had that opportunity, she wasn't about to relinquish it any time soon.

Clenching her teeth to try and maintain focus, Kirie leaned back further, her arm locked in place around her opponent's throat as she stretched her back to try and target her spine as well. It looked as though things were working, and Kirie was just waiting for the moment Roana would crack. Certainly, it didn't seem like she had anything to defend herself with. That was, until...

"KYAAH!" With her attention focused on the hold, Kirie wasn't paying attention to where Roana's hands were going, until she suddenly felt a squeeze against her cheek. The jolt she felt shook her attention away from the match, and her face went red as she jumped up and dropped her grip on Roana. Stepping away from La Matadora, Kirie glared at her, adjusting her trunks before leaning closer with her hands on her hips.

"Watch it, you pervert! I'm not up for grabs, you know!" In the process, Kirie was so wrapped up in chewing out her foe that she had relinquished her hold on her, and she wasn't looking to change that.

"Kirie, look out-" Hiro called from the corner. He tried to warn his client that Roana could attack at any moment, but that didn't seem to be on Kirie's mind right now...

Letting go of the submission was the last thing Kirie should've done. Not ten seconds after the hold was released. Roana kipped up and ran toward the ropes, she bounced off the ropes and charged her opponent, going airborne with a flying forearm. If this was successful in knocking her down, she would follow with a standing moonsault. Some of her peers seemed to be afraid of going to the air in their matches, for Roana, she was most comfortable in the air...

Hiro had tried to get Kirie's attention, and the pink-haired girl realized in mid-rant that, given her opponent's speed, she should have been keeping her focus on Roana. Unfortunately, by the time that thought reached her, it was already too late. She looked up to see Roana flying toward her with her forearm outstretched, and she only had time to let out a yelp of surprise before the Spanish woman came crashing into her! Bowled off her feet, Kirie fell to her back - something that only left her open for Roana to pull off a standing moonsault, hopping up and swinging her legs around to plant them directly into Kirie's unprotected stomach! Coughing, she bucked up from the mat, but she soon settled back down, stunned.

"Ole'!" cried Roana as her moonsault hit Kirie flat on the canvas. Though admittedly she could've just kept going with the quick strikes, she decided to do something she rarely ever does: Slow down. She decided to sit on Kirie's back and wrench her head back in a Camel clutch. Though not a submission expert at all, it seemed to Roana the simplest and most effective move at the time. Roana didn't make things complicated when they didn't have to be.

Having Roana take off like a missile and come crashing into Kirie's stomach at full speed was going to hurt in any situation, and Kirie was laid flat, groaning under her breath. Perhaps it was the lull in the action that made Roana feel she could get away with slowing down from her usual breakneck pace; after all, Kirie wasn't likely to get up and fight back any time soon. But whatever the case might have been, Kirie was soon rolled onto her stomach, and soon Roana had climbed onto her back, grabbing her by the chin to pull back on her head in a camel clutch!

She let out a scream, her face contorting with pain. Hiro had to wince hearing such cries coming from her, but he bit his lip, waiting to see how she would pull herself out of this one. Panting under her breath, Kirie reached for Roana's wrists, attempting to pry them off her chin. At the same time, she would slowly try to crawl toward the ropes, hoping she could get there in time to free herself - though she'd have to fight against the pressure bearing down on her from above in the process!

Kirie, at least it seemed to Roana, didn't seem like the one to lay down and take punishment like some kind of masochist, and sure enough not ten seconds into the hold she began crawling toward the ropes. Part of her felt like she should keep her away from the ropes, but the other more prevailing part didn't want to end this match so quickly, so, against all logical strategy, she dicieded to allow her opponent to get to the ropes. Sure enough, Kirie made it, and Roana released the hold rolled off of Kirie to a standing position. Roana did want to win, but, she also wanted to have a little fun, too...
