It managed to work. Using his move against him, Amy was able to roll Finlay up and get him into a pinning predicament. The ref got to "One" before the Kiwi quickly pushed himself upwards. Amy couldn't get a good grip on him, so she was unfortunately thrown off before the count to make it to "Two."
Upon being tossed off, Amy rolled away and got to her feet, facing him at its end. She waited for him to get to his feet. This was exciting. She could feel the tension and adrenaline pumping in her veins. She loved this feeling.
As soon as he made it to his feet, Amy would look to place a big kick right in his abdomen. It was time to take some control in this match!

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
Finlay grunted as he managed to throw Amy off, luckily before the ref made it to two, it was way too early in the match to be nearly beaten. Due to her weight and awkward placement of his body his lower body flopped forward. However he knew this was a majorly bad position to be in. Throwing his legs up he would kick up to his feet. However it was too little too late as he Amy’s foot connected with his abomen. Gasping in pain he would be sent sliding back into a kneeling position while holding his stomach and trying to reclaim his oxygen.

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
As she nailed him in the gut, Amy pressed on the attack. She wasn't going to wait for him to regain his strength.
As quick as she could, she made it over to him and pulled him to his feet again. In the same motion, she draped his arm around the back of her head, while wrapping her arm around his neck. From there, she would attempt to hit him with a snap suplex!
Should she succeed, she would bridge for a pin attempt.

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
Finlay groaned, his chest still dry heaving from the impact to his stomach leaving him stunned and vulnerable to whatever his opponet would do next. This would ultimately seriously work against him as the bombshell hefted him to his feet and forced him into a bent over position with an arm around his head making him grunt as he grabbed her hip out of instinct. As she lifted him up the only thing he could do was brace himself as Amy slammed him into the amt with a snap suplex making him yell in pain and arch his back before being forced back down as Amy bridged for a pin.
One!!! The ref yelled slamming his hand against the mat before raising it up again
Cursing to himself Finlay knew he had to do something to escape. Turning sharply he would hopefully get one shoulder up just before the ref could reach a second count and break the bridge.

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
Once again, Amy had her opponent down and pinned on the canvas. She got a "One" count before Finlay was able to break it, yet again. Still not good enough for a "Two," unfortunately.
Amy needed to keep going. If she gave him a moment of breath, she would be risking her momentum that she had built thus far.
Turning around to face him, Amy pulled the Kiwi into a sitting position. From there, she would wrap her arms around his head and lock him into a headlock/chokehold. She wasn't very good at holds as a whole, but she knew enough to be able to execute a move like this to some degree of effectiveness. If things worked out, she would turn this into a sleeperhold, and get him to pass out right here!

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
Finlay sighed in relief as he managed to get Amy off of him via the pin break. As he was getting up he grunted as the blonde was already upon him with her arm around his neck for rhe beginnings of a chokehold. Grunting Finlay knew he had to get out of this, thankfully they were in his territory now. Digging his chin into her arm to prevent her from filly securing the hold he would start slsmming elbows behind him into her side to soften her up.

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
As soon as Amy began to lock the chokehold in, she began running into some problems. He dug his chin into her arm, making it difficult for her to complete the move. Coupling that with her lack of technical skills, she found herself at much more of a disadvantage here than she would have liked. It was an unfortunate mistake on her end, and would ultimately cost her the momentum that she was trying so hard to preserve.
"Oof! Aaf! Aah!" Elbow strikes continued to ram into her side as her grasp on the hold weakened, allowing him not only some breathing room, but a chance to take control of this match as well.

Finlay smirked feeling the pressure against him gradually beginning to weaken more and more. Turning around so he was facing her Finlay would send a forearm smash into her face to try and stun her. If successful he would reach forward to try and wrap his arms around her head. “This is a submission hold.” He said going to close his arm around her neck for a guillotine choke hold.

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
Losing control of the hold, Amy couldn't stop Finlay from turning himself around and attacking her. Before she had a chance to defend herself, his forearm smashed into her face.
"Ugh!"
Now reeling and stunned, the blonde girl was left vulnerable to his next move, of which he would quickly take advantage of. She felt his arm wrap around her neck, and soon she was struggling to breathe.
Cough! Hack!
His taunt went relatively unanswered, as Amy was now busy with her hands on his arm, trying to get it pried off of her neck before she passed out!

Re: Amy Henderson vs Finlay Zeffer - The Match That Started It All
Finlay smirked as he took control of the tide of the match with the choke hold. Feeling her hands grabbing at his arm he knew he couldn’t keep the hold on or finish her with it. But he could use it to soften her up a bit.
Stepping towards the center of the ring Finlay would shoot his leg up to knee Amy in the gut. If that was successful he would reach his arm between her legs to grab Amy’s hand. Releasing his grip on her head he would grab her waist and lift her up. His aim being to lift Amy up for a pumphandle suplex.
