Megumi Mutoh vs. Katori Kimura - Reunion of Angels

Megumi managed to successfully catch Katori off-guard, bringing her down onto the mat thanks to her ducking low and yanking her opponent's legs from under her. Now that she managed to bring Katori down, Megumi then applied a kneebar on one of her legs, applying pressure around her knee area. Wrapping her own leg around Katori's leg, Megumi would try to keep trapping her in the hold as long as possible.

"H-how's this? Feel like tapping out now?" Megumi asked. It was just a simple maneuver, a hold that could easily be executed, but one could not deny its effectiveness. Though she hoped that Katori would endure it because she wanted to enjoy the fight more with her fellow Wrestle Angel. Meanwhile, Chigusa was still at the corner, cheering for her best friend.

Katori was thrown off her momentum after Megumi used a feint to catch her off guard and had her legs yanked from under her to bring the angel down. In which her fellow angel took advantage of and immediately went for the submission and put Katori in a painful Kneebar hold! The combination of the sudden drop and quick application of the submission hold was enough to stun the Mighty Successor, as she laid flat on her back as Megumi worked her leg over while moaning in pain.

This stun wouldn't last long though as Katori quickly got her bearings together after hearing her opponent's words as she clenched her teeth to silence her moans and attempt to sit up! "N-no way... in HELL am I tapping out...!!" Katori let out in response as she shows her determination and spirit before attempting something drastic.

With everything she has, Katori will attempt to roll herself and Megumi over so she's on her front while letting out a mighty roar. Once she is able to do that, Katori will use her arms and free leg to try to drag herself towards the ropes, getting closer as she'll then reach out to grab them and force the Rope Break!

Megumi was definitely impressed by the fighting spirit Katori was displaying as she refused to give up, defying her even though she was being trapped in the hold. The Combat Genius tried her best to maintain the hold, though Katori was having none of it as she rolled herself over, bringing Megumi with her. "Whoa!" But she refused to let go, and she kept holding onto her even as Katori began to drag herself towards the ropes.

Katori was getting closer and closer to the ropes, and eventually, Megumi was forced to let her go as she reached the ropes. Sighing, she would roll herself away from her opponent before getting back up onto her feet so that they could continue with their clash.

"Haa... not bad..." Megumi said, complimenting her fellow Angel.

Despite being put in such disadvantaged position, Katori's spirit didn't waver as she fought through the pain and resisted with all she had in her effort to break free from the Kneebar submission hold. This effort would pay off as the Mighty Successor manages to reach the ropes to break the hold, with Megumi releasing her immediately. Katori took deep breaths when her leg was freed, still gripping on the ropes for a few seconds before using them to help herself up.

Once back up to her feet, Katori turns her head at her colleague who compliments the young angel. "Heh... I aim to please... haaa.." Katori says as she smirks with confidence and pride. She'll fully turn around to face her opponent and push off from the ropes, getting back in her stance showing she's ready to continue, her smirk dropping as her expression turns hard and serious.

Releasing Katori from the kneebar, Megumi would get ready as soon as she saw that her opponent was getting back up onto her feet. Seeing how serious her opponent seemed to be, she knew that it was her turn to treat this match seriously as well. Dropping into a stance, Megumi would carefully watch Katori as she would cautiously close in, hands extended forward.

Then, she would rush forward, seemingly trying to lock up with her opponent. She planned to latch herself against Katori in a lock up, only to slip behind her back. From there, she would try to wrap her arms around her waist from behind, locking her in a rear waist lock in which her hands would clasp together in her effort to restrain her opponent by having her arms around her midsection.

Megumi would plant her feet on the mat, preparing herself for her next big move. Still, she knew that Katori might be able to do something even if she ended up being trapped in the rear waist lock, so she would wait and see what her fellow Angel would do next so that she could decide her next action.

Katori looked dead serious at her opponent as she got into her stance after getting back up to her feet, as despite how long it's been since she and Megumi last wrestled, the latter hasn't lost any of her touch at all and is still as formidable as can be. If Katori doesn't watch her step, she could lose this match.

Watching Megumi cautiously, the young Successor inches herself forward, waiting to see what she'll do next and look for an opening. She wouldn't have to wait long though, as Megumi would dash forward at Katori with her arms raised, seemingly to lock up with her fellow angel. This would turn out to be a ruse, however, as the red clad girl slips behind Katori and wraps her arms around her waist while clamping her hands together and pressing against Katori.

The girl wasn't thrown off from the maneuver though, as after Megumi clamped onto Katori, the latter would bring a hand down to grab one of her opponent's wrists to pull, while using the other arm to throw elbow strike back behind her at Megumi repeatedly. Using this to try and weaken Megumi's grip on her and break free before she was able to pull off whatever she had in mind for the Mighty Successor.

Slipping to Katori's back, Megumi immediately wrapped her arms around her waist to put her opponent into a rear waist lock. She planned to do something big for the hold as she would shift the hold a bit, but before she could carry out any of her plan, Megumi took a few elbow strikes from Katori repeatedly while her arms were being pried by one of Katori's hands. Gritting her teeth, Megumi had no other choice but to relinquish the hold and release her opponent from the rear waist lock.

But releasing her opponent didn't mean she would let her free. The moment Megumi released Katori from the rear waist lock, she would hold out her arm and attempt to knock her down with a clothesline right at the back of her head, looking to send her face first into the mat. While she was still reeling from those elbow strikes from Katori, she was certain that her clothesline would be sufficient to introduce her opponent's face to the canvas, where she would be able to think of a follow up after this.

Katori threw blow after blow behind her at Megumi whom was latched onto her from behind, all in an attempt to get her to release her to avoid whatever she was planning for the Mighty Successor. After a few more elbows and further prying of her grip, it appeared to work as Katori felt her waist lighten up, she smirked in satisfaction, but little did the Angel know that it wasn't over just yet.

Before she could do anything else right now to either counter or move from Megumi, Katori was hit from behind by a hard Clothesline by her colleague which instantly knocked her off her feet and face first into the mat! "Gaah! Ughh...!" Katori let out as she was sprawled on the mat stunned while clutching her face in pain, her back exposed to her opponent.

Right after releasing Katori from the rear waist lock, Megumi immediately hit her with a clothesline to the back of her head, sending her face first into the mat. Seeing that her opponent was clutching her face in pain, Megumi would try to take advantage of this as she would move down, getting herself right on Katori's back as she would try to trap Katori's nearest arm between her legs while her hands would move towards her head. She would then clasp her hands together as she would yank at Katori's head, putting her into a crossface.

While Megumi might be well-known for her vicious strikes and breathtaking aerial maneuvers, she was also good with submission holds, and while a crossface might be something that another Angel like Toshimi Minami was well-known for, Megumi certainly knew how to use it. After all, it was all instinctual for her, being a Combat Genius. If she managed to lock Katori into the crossface, she would begin applying pressure into it, looking to weaken her and gaining an upper hand over her.

Just when the Mighty Successor thought she managed to make Megumi break her grip from behind, her opponent quickly followed up by flattening Katori face first hard into the mat with a Clothesline from behind, effectively stunning the poor Angel and leaving her open for a possible follow up. Which happened to be the case when Megumi laid herself across Katori's back, wrapping an arm between her legs and pulling back on her chin, putting the Successor in a Crossface submission hold!

As Megumi applied pressure and pain to Katori's back and neck, she grunted and cried out in pain for a bit before clenching her teeth tightly to silence her cries. While the Crossface was an effective submission hold, it did have a slight oversight to it, which the Mighty Successor will exploit to break free.

Using her legs, as well as her free arm for leverage, Katori will attempt to force herself to crawl over to the ropes near her, doing her best to ignore the burning pain in her back and neck as she did. Once she got close, she'll reach her arm out to grab the bottom rope and force Megumi to release her from the submission hold.
