The Ballad of the Magician & Phantom: Anastasia Bockworth vs. Ayumi Sato

Unread post by godjacob »

Match Type: 2/3 Falls
Victory Conditions: Pinfall, Submission, Knockout, Count Out, Disqualification

To say that Ayumi had been in a not so great mood would have been an understatement. Despite high hopes and even higher production entrances, she had found herself off to a rather disappointing start to her LAW career. 3 matches came, and 3 loses had come just as quick which obviously left the magician a bit peeved. Obviously it was merely her being a victim of circumstance, from opponents being actual beasts in disguise, to cheap shots or her feeling under the weather. Not at all that she may have just come up short in those matches, that couldn't have been it.

Ayumi was not one to keep quiet when she felt slighted, and blasted the LAW website over the bias in her matches and demanded those losses removed from record. Or do overs. The LAW board naturally asked Ayumi to stop spamming their site as she caused a crash single handily and offered her a match to try and get a "clean slate" in a metaphorical sense. And in a literal sense, Ayumi decided to request a 2/3 Falls Match because if she could get those 2 falls she could get 2 wins and work to help even her record.

In spite of the natural logistics over this, and said attempts to explain it to Ayumi flying over the magician's head, the match was set up as Ayumi seemed to be booked against someone who referred to herself as "The Phantom."

Well this was great! If Ayumi could defeat a ghost then nobody in LAW could ever talk smack about her ever again, and once she got her cue she got her gear set and made her way to the Gorilla position.
Spoiler
As the theme music of the airheaded magician began to play, the crowd turned ever curious. In spite of her losing record, Ayumi was known to have some rather eye catching entrances and it seemed this one was of no exception.

A stage hand wheeled out what appeared to be a large mirror that was put on display on the entrance stage. The stage hand seemed to demonstrate the mirror out by rotating it 360 to show that seemingly nothing and nobody was behind it before a white sheet was draped over it an the stage hand scattered. Soon enough, a purple smoke raised from around the stage and in a moment the sheet seemed to remove itself as the mirror spun 360 once more and out came Ayumi who flexed a pose raising her wand as she smirked that toothy smirk of hers.

And stumbled, as the cape she wore got caught on the mirror as it flipped around, but she caught herself before she fell on her face. Unphased she strutted to the ring with confidence as she would climb up the steel steps and entered through the bottom rope as she ripped her tophat and struck a pose in the center of the ring before she moved to her corner; setting her cape, hat and wand aside as she waited for her opponent to make her expected arrival.

Anastasia watched from back stage as her next opponent made her truly elaborate entrance to the ring, half-impressed and half-annoyed by the garish display that the Amazing Ayumi had put on. The little stumble at the end, however, gave her a small cause for hope in the match to come. Anastasia's LAW career was off to a dismal start, with three catastrophic losses in her return to defending the ring.

She desperately needed to get back on track, and it seemed she would have her chance against this bumbling heel. Ayumi, too, was on a losing streak, which in turn had spawned a whole host of unacceptable behaviours from the petulant magician. This was clearly someone who needed to learn the error of her ways. And given Ayumi's form, if there was ever an opportunity for the Phantomess to regain some much needed pride, it was now. She hitched her striped briefs higher up her waist and adjusted the purple cowl of her mask in readiness. It was time to make her mark.

The haunting notes of Nightwish: Nemo sounded from the speakers, and Anastasia knew it was time. Purple smoke plumed around the entrance in preparation for her arrival. She stepped out onto the entrance ramp, steeling herself, trying to remain confident. Her defense of the ring started now.

Striding imperiously through the curtains of purple smoke, The Phantomess made her way down towards ring, ignoring the fans, strutting towards her opponent with her head held high. She clambered up the side of the ring and stepped through the ropes before facing Ayumi, hands on hips, staring her down confidently.

"Quite an entrance, my dear," she began imperiously, trying to project as much confidence as she could. "But all the tricks and trappings in the world will not prevent you from facing the justice of the Phantomess!"

Ayumi watched as she heard the catchy music and saw some smoke which while not as stylish as her own entrance, obviously, but the mixture of the pyro smog and the theme helped to create its own atmosphere though Ayumi would not make it known to her opponent with an equally troubled record. She would merely wait for this new arrival to come while she thought over her strategy for this three-fall showdown.

The figure would soon reveal herself to both the crowed and Ayumi herself, and Ayumi instantly was puzzled. This was the Phantom? Purple was like the least ghost-like color possible, had she been swindled again!? Regardless of this her focus on the lack of ghost-attributes was put on hold as the women climbed into the ring as the pair was face to face.

While it was more Anastasia trying to project confidence, Ayumi seemed to sell it as she felt a shiver from her pose & words before she stood tall to try and match it.

"Justice? Hum, as if. I am the one victim of injustice here lady and before this is done I am gonna kick that purple rear of yours where the sun shines!" Ayumi said, passionate even if she botched the wording of her quote as it seemed she wasn't fighting some ghost but a superhero. Nobody told her she'd be taking on a superhero!? This was so unfair, but in spite of that she seemed ready for it as confidence oozed from her being and she seemed ready for the match to come.

...even if that confidence was more stage presence than legitimate.

Anastasia listened to Ayumi's words, hearing the arrogant haughtiness in the woman's words. There was something slightly foolish about this magician, something somewhat kooky that made the Phantomess uncertain. Still, they were in the ring now and she had a task to perform - to defeat a heel and at the same time go some way to restoring her currently dismal reputation.

"Threats are meaningless!" she snapped curtly. "If one has not the means to carry them out!"

And with that the bell rang. Anastasia circled Ayumi for a moment, sizing her opponent up, before striding forward and attempting a collar-and-elbow tie up with the supposed magician!

Ayumi scoffed at the words of this masked fool, Ayumi would show her the threat behind her words. Yes, today wold be her day and someone else would have to look up at the ceiling lights for a change. She was certain she would make that happen!

Ayumi would see Anastasia as she seemed to set up for what seemed to be a collar and elbow tie up, a basic enough beginning and one that Ayumi seemed eager to meet as she advanced with her arms raised. Only to try a cheap shot as she aimed to try and kick the spandex wearing women right in the gut to try and get the early advantage.

The Phantomess advanced, convincing herself that she could defeat this bumbling heel, reaching out to grapple with Ayumi. At first it seemed like the other woman was ready to accept the grapple, moving towards her, and Anastasia smiled. In a fair and proper exchange she could surely best this petulant individual. However, it quickly became apparent that that was the last thing on Ayumi's mind...

"OOFFF!" Anastasia exclaimed in surprise as the magician booted her square in the gut, winding the purple-clad defender in an instant. She doubled over clutching her stomach, legs wide apart as she bent forwards, now in a dreadfully vulnerable position for Ayumi's follow-up!

Ayumi smirked as she was able to land the kick to double over this Phantom lady, so it seemed that self-titled ghosts were not immune to that. A useful tool to file away, well at least in her mind to say the least but irregardless she knew she had an opening to work wit and was eager to drive her early advantage.

Ayumi raised both her arms high as she aimed to try and slam onto her opponent's back while she was doubled over aiming to deliver a Double Ax Handle across it.

Tottering unsteadily, doubled over in front of Ayumi, Anastasia knew she was in a dreadfully vulnerable spot. That knowledge, however, didn't help her do anything about it. Still spluttering foolishly for breath, she never saw the magician's axe-handle strike coming.

"UNNGHH!" she exclaimed in surprise and pain as the blow struck her squarely in the back. The Phantomess went down hard, her legs buckling as she collapsed flat on her front, limbs splayed out and her head landing almost between Ayumi's legs! She wheezed desperately for breath, horribly aware that the match was already slipping out of her control!

Ayumi smirked, this match was going better than she could have ever expected! Granted she always had the confidence she could do this but her results to now had usually began with her starting off poorly and it just going further downhill.

Either way, she had to make the most of this advantage, as she quickly worked to step over Anastasia and stood over the downed opponent; grinning ear to ear and wiggling her rear.

"Guess this Phantom isn't so spooky, but don't worry. I know how to bring a chill up the spine~" Ayumi smirked, as she aimed to drop down with her bubbly butt as she aimed to try and splash right on Anastasia's back to press her full weight against it.

Things were not going according to plan so far for the Phantomess! She'd thought this match would be different, but it seemed even the apparently bumbling magician had the measure of the supposed defender of the ring, leaving her bent over and an easy target. She could not let this happen - her heroic reputation was in tatters already. She could not lose to Ayumi as well, surely?! Anastasia started to rise, when suddenly she felt a weight land atop her, flattening her back to the canvas!

"AUGHH! she squealed as Ayumi's butt thumped onto her back, driving the Phantomess down. Her arms and legs splayed out in all directs as Ayumi landed atop her, pinning the purple-clad beauty in place with effortless ease!
