Quarterfinals: Amy Henderson vs. Jessica Parker

As soon as Amy slammed her foe back down onto her back, she would once again rise to her feet. She had half a mind to go for a pin here, but better judgement said otherwise. She's tricky. She'll will take advantage of your early attempt to win. You need to put her away properly. You need to prove you are the better wrestler, and set her straight!

And Amy agreed. Sending a few well-placed stomps into the red-head's stomach, the girl in the red bikini felt that *now* was the chance she needed to put this match away. If ever there was going to be an opportunity to move on to the next round, it was now.

Once again pulling her opponent back up to her feet, Amy made Jessica face away from her. As quickly as she could, she would hook each of Jessica's arms behind her, locking her in a double chicken-wing. Then, she would proceed to lift the girl up into the air, holding her high.

Her back wasn't exactly too happy about all this heavy-lifting, but it cooperated all the same. It was time to end this. It was time to execute her finisher: the Triple-A!

This wasn't Jessica playing dead, she can barely move at all after the vertical suplex. Her first time entering a tournament (even if low stakes) was going to end in embarrassment from an early loss apparently. Any name who crosses her would certainly end up on the revenge list, although this could lead to Jessica lying in the dumps again. She had to actually train her body after defeat and admit that she wasn't perfect.

She groaned from the repeated stomps to her stomach as if there wasn't enough punishment delivered in this match. It wasn't even a true wipeout to feel like catharsis. Needing help to be picked up once more, the blonde was happy to comply.

Arms were restrained as if she was in handcuffs and body hoisted up in the air, almost like Amy was making an example out of her opponent if she was prideful as Jessica. The heel only had two legs to work with, but the chickenwing was too tight to be able to move from this position. "You forgot one thing officer..." she muttered in an emotionless voice before throwing her neck back for headbutt. If successful she would free herself from the double chickenwing, allowing her body to hang in a wheelbarrow position. Reaching back for the blonde's thighs, Jessica let out a roar and used her remaining strength to flip the other wrestler over. This lead to a victory roll with her holding onto Amy's legs for a pin. "1....2....."

This was it. Amy was ready to move on to the second round. Overall, this fight had not been exactly what she had hoped for, but perhaps there would be better matches to come. It wasn't like Amy was getting cocky, or counting her chickens before they hatched. She was not one to intentionally boast, though some times it may have looked that way (this situation was a pretty good example).

But with all of that said, it was time to end this. All that was left was to slam Jessica on her face and pin her, and it would be over.

So when her opponent's head swung backwards and smacked her in the face, she was more surprised than she was hurt. But that would be more than enough for the red-head to take advantage. Quickly swinging downwards, Jessica managed to throw Amy forwards, causing the two to roll towards the center of the ring. In less than a second, Amy's shoulders were on the mat as Jessica had her in a victory roll!

The blonde didn't know what was happening. Everything was just happening in a flash, soon the ref started counting, and Amy began thrashing. She needed to get out, but her back wouldn't respond. Two counts came, and Amy managed to kick out of the roll-up... just a split second too late.

"Three!!"

Everything was going to end here one way or another. Despite not being a hardcore match, this was one of the more stressful matches to go through as her opponent resembled a storm with how little she was impeded. If Jessica was going down, she would try to preserve the pride remaining.

She wasn't going to let herself be slammed effortless even after being tossed around back and forth like a tetherball. There was a little tug of war between the two but everything was decided by a simple headbutt.

As long as Amy didn't focus on restraining her, Jessica was fine proceeding with the next stage. A tumble around the ring later and a pinfall was formed. "(Cmon just stay down!)" she thought to herself sweating a bit, hoping the referee would count fast enough. Her heart almost gave when she saw Amy's legs move but then the 3 count would be heard.

"Your winner and moving on to the next round....JESSICA PARKER!"

Immediately after the bell rang, Jessica crawled to the edge and rested her back against the ropes. "Easy...as pie..." giving a half-smile while raising a single fist in the air. It was clear that she was somewhat strained and the spectators caught on quite fast. This followed by a series of thunderous boos. It was not just the heel winning this match, but somebody being able to reach greater heights by a stroke of luck infuriated everyone.

Jessica sighed and rolled herself out of the ring, not taking a gaze at Amy or the crowd but kept her guard up in case somebody was bitter enough to attack. She tried to walk off this match like nothing even though some were quick to notice her limping. If this was just the beginning of the tourney, will the rest give an even greater toll? She didn't suffer any major injuries, but the heel was pretty exhausted after that show the blonde gave. She wouldn't be against a rematch because at least now she was more prepared. Will these two meet again?

At first, Amy thought she was safe. It was close, and therefore hard to tell. But as soon as the bell rang, her heart sank. I didn't make it...

She sat up to her knees, still panting a bit from the match as she watched her victorious foe walk off. She didn't give chase, or scream profanities. In fact, all she really did was punch the canvas in frustration once, before taking a breath and calming herself down.

Amy wasn't one to hold grudges. Even with how dirty Jessica had played this match (which was not the worst Amy had dealt with), the blonde knew that in the end, this loss was her fault. If she had just approached this match differently, things would have been different. If she focused on that hold a bit more at the end, she would have won. But none of that would change the outcome now.

Amy sighed to herself and got back to her feet, preparing to leave the ring once her foe was out of sight. She was saddened, not only to not be advancing in this tournament, but also to be advancing her negative record here at LAW. Even the ever-positive Amy was starting to wonder if she, perhaps, didn't belong here.

But that would be a story for another time. For now, Amy had a lot of thinking to do, and a lot of self-reflecting. Maybe one day, she would meet Jessica again. And on that day, Amy vowed to come out the victor.

Jessica Parker wins by pinfall, and proceeds to the Semifinals.
