Interview: Chelsea Forster - The British Bunny Speaks

Pretty much as expected. Interviews with characters, wrestlers, staff or otherwise. You can do these as one singular post, or a back-and-forth thread akin to a match, with one of you playing the interviewer and the other interviewee.

Interview: Chelsea Forster - The British Bunny Speaks

Unread post by CaptainL »

Written by Takeda Ryoshi, with "translation" by Molly Forster

When it comes to LAW's lightweight division, one of the most infamously inscrutable names has to be that of Chelsea Forster. Making up one half of the tag team sensation that is the British Bunnies, she's also the half that LAW's fanbase at home here in Japan has the hardest time understanding, on account of the fact that she doesn't speak any Japanese - and she doesn't seem in a hurry to learn any time soon. We should be thankful that her sister Molly wears so many hats, as both her manager and her tag team partner, and her translator for whatever she has to say - because otherwise, we would be completely lost. We also wouldn't be able to conduct this interview - but, thanks to Molly, we have an exclusive look inside Chelsea's mind, brought to you by LAW Magazine! For all the fans wondering what she's been thinking this whole time, we bring you the answers you've been waiting for!

So, first things first. If this is something I'm allowed to ask, I think we're all wondering...Chelsea, why don't you speak Japanese?

"I just didn't think I would need it. In all due respects, I'm here to wrestle, not to talk. I can get across anything I need for my job in the ring. And for all the correspondence, I have Molly. I'm sure it's a wonderful language, but I don't have the time."

"I see. You know, a lot of people think that you've been disrespectful toward Japan. Do you have anything to say about that?"

"Oh, not at all! Believe me, I've loved it here! The people here are very nice, and everything's so clean. Please don't get the wrong idea."

"Surprising! I suppose that you just get worked up in the ring, huh? Do you think you'd ever move to Japan?"

"Thanks for asking, but that's not really something I'm interested in. Molly's talked about trying to stay for college, but I'm really only here as long as she's here. I'm probably going back to England after that."

"You two must be inseparable, huh?"

"Molly's why I came here. And I'm the reason she got into wrestling. She looked up to me and wanted to follow in my footsteps, and I was the one to train her."

"Heh...twins...anyway-"

"We're not actually twins, I'm older. Even if we can pull off Twin Magic."

"Ah, right, anyway...where was I? Okay, Chelsea, how did you get into wrestling?"

"It actually wasn't my first choice. I was looking for a music career at first, and I practiced with the guitar and writing a few songs, but I didn't have any luck getting signed to any deals. I went looking for other opportunities, and that's when I came across wrestling. Honestly, I took to it pretty quickly. Call it natural talent or what have you, but I felt it was an easy fit, and I wanted to pursue it further."

"Music, huh? Interesting. You ever think you'll get into it again?'

"I still have my old guitar somewhere back in Liverpool. But it's been a while since I practiced, and these days I feel at home a lot more in the ring."

"And your sister was a cosplayer?"

"Still is. But she saw what I was doing as a wrestler, and she wanted to follow suit, which is why I took up training her. She really learned quickly, and I'm proud to have her by my side."

"So, if she took up wrestling, do you ever think you'd do cosplay?"

"That's really not my thing, sorry."

"Aw...I bet you could pull it off, too. I've seen some of Molly's photoshoots...uh, what was I saying again? Anyway...what do you think of your career in LAW so far?"

"I've won some, and I've lost some, but overall, I think I'm in a good place and I'm headed in the right direction. I've certainly been proud of my successes. And when it doesn't go so well...I guess there's always room to improve?"

"Can I ask what a 'divvy' is? Is that how you say it?"

"It's just a Liverpool thing. It basically means an idiot or a fool. It's just your typical taunt."

"What would you say has been the highlight of your LAW career?"

"Oh, that would definitely be being at We Are LAW 2020! We were just on the undercard, but being on such a big show and getting to do our thing was exciting. Molly even got to go all out with the entrance. I wish more people appreciated the work that we put in, but at least I got some good moves in in the ring...well, up until someone had to throw a wrench in my plans...we could have won, too..."

"Do you think you'd ever go up against the Carnival Girls again?"

"It would be something, alright! I wouldn't mind one more chance at showing them we mean business...and honestly, we couldn't have expected Shaina to unload on us the way we did, so I'd like to think we'd be better prepared this time. But I think enough's been said, and that it's time to move on to new pursuits, and new opponents. There's no use in living in the past, and we've got better things to do."

"A wise choice. Alright, we're just about out of time, so I'd like to ask one last question. Do you two have any big plans for your time at LAW? Any remaining goals before you head home?"

"Plenty! Ideally one of us is going to end up with the Lightweight Championship before this is all through, and I know either of us could take on anyone to keep it around our waists! But as bad as it is to get caught on the wrong side of just one of us, we do even better as a team - and I, personally, think we can look forward to being Tag Team Champions in our future!"

Well, there you have it - a look at the true face of Chelsea Forster! I've heard a lot of not so nice things about her, but she seemed pleasant enough. Hopefully, now that we've broken the translation barrier, more people will get to appreciate what this fine young lady can bring too the table. Be sure to watch the British Bunnies; we might be seeing future Tag Team Champions in the making!
