Canvas Cult with Karl Schneider and Eiji Matsumoto

Pretty much as expected. Interviews with characters, wrestlers, staff or otherwise. You can do these as one singular post, or a back-and-forth thread akin to a match, with one of you playing the interviewer and the other interviewee.

“Hello and welcome dear fans to the first issue of LAW Magazine‘s new podcast and talk show, "Canvas Cult." My name is Karl Schneider, the Grim Reaper, and we start this brand new show today with a topic that‘s very personal to me,
But first, here with me today, a true legend of the business, helping me out with his expertise,
You know him all,
The sultan of insults,
The foul-mouthed voice of LAW Magazine,
And my new boss,
Matsumoto Eiji.
Eiji-san, thanks for being with us and talking about this very special feud. How are you doing?“

"It's a pleasure to be with you, Herr Schneider. You're not just a star journalist in this business, you've actually been in the ring yourself - back when people still gave a damn - and you know the ins and outs of wrestling better than even I could attest to. I was fortunate enough to have seen you wrestle in your heyday, and I'm even more fortunate to be here with you now."

“Oh, thank you, it was only seven years but it seems ages ago. And I really should ask for a raise then, hehe.
Well alright, let‘s dive right in!
“So, what are your thoughts about our two protagonists? Did you had set your sights on them before I sent you a very blurry video in December at... Was it 2 AM?, of two young women arm-wrestling at a
local pub?“

"Ah...y'know, you still haven't apologized for waking me up for that! But I digress. Y'know, Chelsea Forster has been a part of LAW for some time now, and if you ask me, she's got the makings of a star in her. She's got the aggression to carry her through in any match, and her take-no-prisoners attitude has helped her get the eyes of the fans on her - even if she's not one to make many friends among LAW's faithful, she's definitely been memorable in anything she does, and she has to have something going for her if she's been featured on We Are LAW. Even if she lost that match, just making it that far at all tells you LAW's top brass has big hopes for her to give her top billing.
As for Finella...it's hard to believe she's a relative newcomer to LAW, because in what little time she's been around, she's definitely made an impact. She and her sister can't be further apart, and yet they both show great promise in what they do. If I do say so myself, they're both champions in the making, and the company and the fans have taken note. Now, I don't know how much of it is because the girl can't seem to keep her damn clothes on, but even I have to admit there's something worth cheering there."

“Ah, Eiji, you know, a good journalist never sleeps. Yes indeed, I am on board with you. I am aquainted with both girls and seeing how they use their potential to climb to the top is magnificent. But you mentioned her sister, Harmonia Edelstein.
How did you find the ex-model‘s rise to the top so far?“

"Honestly? Harmonia's surprised me. I mean, when they first signed her to the League, it seemed like the same old damn story we've heard how many times - a wrestling promotion hires some famous model or idol so that they can get eyes on their matches because whatever bunch of losers they want to con into watching don't give a rat's ass about what good wrestling is as long as they can see tits. Shithead Dave's done it, Berserk's done it, LAW's done it more than once. But it's been a pleasant surprise to know that she's wanting to shed that image and get by on her own merits, and she's put an impressive amount of work into improving her skills and handling things like a real wrestler. Y'know what? I'm willing to keep an eye on her."

“Well, no doubt about that. But as you know, sex sells! I can say, I live with the Edelsteins and both Harmonia and Finella are not slacking on their training, especially Harmonia is dedicated, she used this year at LAW to become stronger and I think it paid off well, don't you think?
But coming back to our topic, Chelsea Forster was more known for her unseemly behaviour, insisting on not learning Japanese, using cheating tactics and being overall irritating to the crowd. Every Bunny match I saw had them booed and insulted. What do you think about that?“

“Yeah, yeah, that's what they all say, but you know what else sells? I don't know, wrestlers who can actually wrestle! You get good people, they put on good matches, people go to your shows! It's simple! Ah...I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I? Anyway, Chelsea. See, I think she's got decent enough talent. She was a star on the British independents, and she's got something going for her if she can pull off the sorts of high-flying moves we've seen her do, but...what with the booing, I'd say it's her contempt for the fans. Sure, she's boorish and rude, but so's Finella, and the crowd eats her up - as you can see in any of the times they've butted heads. And let's talk about her sister, too - when she's been in singles matches, people cheer for her. Sure, she's got all the drivel she posts on her social media people seem to like, with that whole kawaii cosplayer waifu stuff - I feel stupider just saying that, by the way - but I feel like there's something else beyond that. What do you say, Karl?"

“Having you say Kawaii Cosplayer Waifu Stuff just was the most wonderful thing I heard in months...“

“Oh, for the love of...“

“I think a lot of it depends on certain factors. First and foremost, jingoism exists, especially in the lower classes in every country. So if you have Japanese Guys vs European or American Guys in the middle of Tokyo, yeah well, it is obvious who will get the sympathies. But! And there is a big but, Chelsea‘s debut, torturing Shaina of the Carnival Girls and being an absolute ass to the audience didn‘t help with that fact.
May I speak openly here? Maybe it is a bit biased as both girls are friends of mine, but I think the Carnival Girls in and on itself, are rather boring. Of course they are capable wrestlers, are loyal and work good together, I give them that, but for me, a strong aspect of this wonderful game we call wrestling is: Entertainment.
And they didn‘t really entertain me as much as a Chelsea Forster does, even if her methods are questionable. But coming from a Tweener leaning Heel Persona myself, I think I get Chelsea more.
And actually, speaking of Molly, you took my next question away, so I will formulate it as an answer:
Molly, you can't stress that enough, is the fan favourite of the team, her charisma, charm and good looks weigh out Chelseas erratic behaviour enough, in her singles matches she got cheered while in her Tag Matches she got booed, the influence of Chelsea I presume. But even if she is the favourite she seems to be the weak spot of the team at the same time, often in need to get rescued by Chelsea or getting pinned for the, let‘s face it, numerous defeats of the Bunnies in the past. Her singles record at LAW isn‘t something to write home about either, but seeing her matches it was mostly likely due to inexperience, something both have shed by now.
So all in all, I would say they had the talent, Chelsea needed to learn to focus and Molly needed more experience, but NOW, I think both have matured enough to become something great.
We will talk about that with Molly herself in a few minutes, so to stay with the topic:
The feud with the Carnival Girls was more or less a personal vendetta of Chelsea and the Carnival Girls where Molly was getting dragged in, you can admire the loyalty of her to her sister, but do you think the victory of Shaina was ok?
The Bunnies dominanted the team of three and all the match she was just standing there, looking afraid, only to lash out in the last minutes because of, it seemed, a psychological breakdown?“

“Well, I'll give the promoters one thing. They know exactly what they're doing in booking Chelsea. They know the fans can't stand her, and they're going to pay even more for the promise of watching her get beat up. It's promoting 101 - hell, I'd argue it's easier to sell tickets to fans who hate someone than it is to sell them to fans who like someone and want to see them win. Now, I'm gonna be clear here: if you ask me, wrestling should be about wrestling, and not about putting on a show or trying to get attention. You wanna be on Broadway, you just go be on goddamn Broadway. But one way or another, Chelsea does know how to wrestle either way you slice it - and the folks in charge saw their chance to put asses in seats, and if you ask me it's working."

“Well there is of course some truth in that statement, seeing someone you can't stand beaten up is much more tempting then seeing your hero excel, but that of course isn‘t Chelsea‘s goal at all. She is who she is and that rubbed many fans and people on the wrong shoulder, for sure. She went the "If I can't be loved, I will be feared" route, but did that help her in the slightest? She is talented, energetic and smart but her record is, if I might say that, also lousy. She lost more then she had won and the things she had won, like her first match against Shaina, were because Molly helped her out. As I said I adore the loyalty and love between those two but to excel it had to come to this point, I mean the point where they had to "separate" - which they of course haven‘t officially done, and I am sure we can count on the Bunnies appearing in this particular form some time again - but for now it is the Mad Tea Party and the Superstars we should set our sights on.“

“With Molly, I'd say you're onto something. Arguably...she falls into the same trap as so many other wrestlers I've talked about. She gets over just fine with all the geeks who just want to see her dance around and smile, or the losers who hope they might have some chance of dating her, but her personality's really all she has going for her. She's still green, and a tag team's only as strong as its weakest link - and if she's not going to improve, she's just going to hold her partners back. We're going to have to see how Chelsea does when she's on her own, but I'm also looking forward to seeing how the Superstars handle each other now that they're a team. I know Molly's been training, but I suppose only time will tell if that makes much of a difference for her, and for Harmonia for that matter.
Now, as for the Carnival Girls. Y'know, I gotta wonder why they haven't had a rematch. Sure, sure, the match at We Are LAW was supposed to be the big blowoff to end it all, and they'd have to top what they've already achieved if they want to do a rematch justice, and that's no easy task. But...if I was Chelsea, I'd call foul. She was in charge of things up until that point, but then Shaina comes along and she can't keep up? She was caught totally off guard, and you can't blame her for lagging behind. Especially when she'd focused on what she thought would be the bigger obstacles and getting them out of the way first, she just didn't have the energy left at the end to deal with an opponent who should've been easy pickings - up until she turned out not to be. You can't blame her for underestimating her, especially given Shaina's track record up to that point. Well, we haven't seen the Carnival Girls around in a while, so I don't know if we'll get an answer to that unless they decide to come back around to LAW."

“Harsh words, my friend, but not unfounded, it is true, Molly is still a bit green behind her ears, but may I say that she got better with every match I saw her in? The problem with her is her showmanship, you just can't get a big move through and then suddenly hop around, waving to the crowd and giving the opponent time to get up. But Molly is also smart, as her sister and she is very, very talented in highflyer moves. The only thing she lacks in is durability and I am sure this is the point where Harmonia‘s and her training will start, with making Molly tougher and in return I am sure that Molly will show Harmonia some highflying skills and work on her speed, a trait the Superstar exceedingly lacked in her previous matches as "The Model". I must say, I am really excited. Both are determined, have an unique style, and what matters the most, they care for each other - not just caring; they love each other, and if they use this to a better potential then the Bunnies did, then I am sure those two will become a big thing in the Tag Division. And yes, I think a match, at least Chelsea vs Shaina, is long overdue, and let me tell you Eiji-san, Chelsea, I mean Chelsea now, isn‘t comparable to the Chelsea two years ago. You will see what I mean when watching her match at We are LAW 5. I saw them fight more then once, Finella and her, and I must say it is unbelievable how tough these two got. Chelsea trained excessively to beat Finella and vice versa and when this feud is over they will come out stronger and more dangerous to their opponents then ever. Whether they like it or not, their hate got the best out of them.“

"Listen, now, at the end of the day, whether or not the fans cheer you, it shouldn't mean shit as to whether you're good at your job or not. Let's take Theresia Neidermeyer, for example. Believe me, I was in the arena for her match against Yoko Harmageddono - yes, THAT match - and the fans damn near started a riot; you'd think they would've killed her if they got their hands on her. They hated her. And you know what else? She had every reason to carry the titles she did, because she was a damn good wrestler! No matter what they shouted at her, she'd still prove at the end of the day that she could beat anyone who stood in her way, and that's what makes you a champion. I mean, it's wrestling, not some personality contest! But if Chelsea's still not winning her matches, that says more about her talent in the ring than how well she can win the fans over, and she's going to need to hone her skills before she changes her attitude. But, like you say, only time will tell, and she'll still have time to prove herself.
It's the same thing you say with Molly - she's got potential in her, that's for sure, but she's going to need to tighten some bolts before she can hit that potential. No matter how good she is in the ring, what holds her back is her eagerness to please her fans when she should be going in for the kill. What I will say is, if she and Harmonia are going to train with each other, hopefully they'll be able to cover for each others' weaknesses and teach each other where they can shine. The Bunnies were two high-flyers, so they both had the same strengths and weaknesses, more or less. Chelsea could do all the things Molly could, and vice versa. You put Molly with Harmonia, though, and they've got very different styles - styles that can play off each other, and make up for any areas they might be lacking in. I don't know, I feel like there's the makings of good things for those two, but I'm gonna believe they're going places when I see it."

“I get where you are coming from Eiji-san, and I find it highly unfair when I want to disagree with you that you throw in a legend like Thereisa Niedermeyer because you make my arguments fall flat. Thereisa relishes in her heelishness, not shy of beating up young, unexperienced rookies as seen with the match she had against Nico Cardona where she almost broke both legs of the Young Lioness. But let me ask you, is THIS wrestling to you then? Trying to snap necks and break arms and legs is hardly something to root for, as much as I adore Frau Niedermeyer‘s in-ring skills and showmanship. I give you this, we should put the focus more on wrestling again but we are still entertainment. Heck, since the seventies, when you where young they started this entertainment thing. Where would we be if Jerry Lawler down in Memphis wasn‘t such a big movie buff? Granted, gimmicks always existed but I think the real entertainment started in the 70s and 80s. Sadly I can only talk about from what I have read and heard...but we are drifting off again, I think I have to invite you again Eiji as there are many things you, as veteran, could answer. Anyway, back on track with us.“
“Chelsea, again I am biased, is a formidable wrestler who has a lot of heart and had'nt really "persued" the heel persona, in fact, I don't think she saw herself as heel that much. I think what she is trying now will lead to big success for her and the fans. She definetly has the skills and looks to turn the crowd on her side and we will witness this on PPV.“

"Hey, now, no need to call foul on me for telling the truth! I'm not saying that Theresia's whole neck-breaking business was good, but where she succeeds where a lot of the wrestlers who followed in her footsteps fall flat is that underneath all the brutality, she has a damn good technical basis. She might cause some injuries, but she's still a good wrestler - just one who can go too far at times. Hell, you see how well she could move when she could keep up with Asai Rei! That's one thing she has over someone like Skylar Jones, who just knows how to hit people really hard! Hell, if you ask me, that Cardona girl could use a wake-up call if she thinks she can just goof around and flash her tits! This is real wrestling, and the sooner she gets that through her head, the sooner she can do something about it!"

I didn‘t call foul on you, I just pointed out some things! Frau Niedermeyer has undeniable talent but saying that the intentional breaking of necks and legs is "going too far sometimes" is like to say, ‘ah, Ted Bundy was nice enough young man, yeah killed a few girls, but who doesn‘t?‘ For me wrestling loses its entertainment factor when such things happen, and as you mentioned Skylar Jones, yes, there is another one who deserves some "reality". That "match" against Yuki Kazikura was nothing more than a disaster and this is hardly entertainment, that was just a sick and twisted antithese of all that wrestling stands for. I am not the biggest fan of hardore matches myself. Whats the fucking point? We are wrestlers, not fucking inmates of a looney bin that is being sent against each other, of course I see the value of a street fight but going out to the ring with a knife and slicing up your opponent? Get out of here. How Skylar Jones is still around is a miracle to me and I really would like to talk with her about this whole ordeal, because the reporter side in me has some morbid interest to look in the psyche of Miss Jones. She reminds me of Hardcore Stan, you know, the guy who shot himself a sleazy motel a few years ago. He was the same. No one wanted to fight this fucking maniac anymore. When I go out, and seriously have to fear about my wellbeing and life...this is where I draw the line and this is why I am really split about Frau Niedermeyer, talented as she is!
You can be an asshole, you can be a maniac, you can be the fucking worst of humanity but stick to wrestling! You know, Cecilia Lombard comes to mind. She may be cold and sadistic, BUT she breaks her opponents with her body and don't outright goes to snap their necks or break their legs. She definetly calculates it in but what she does is actual wrestling and now that she and Skylar formed...what was it...Alley Cats...no...ah, here, ‘Street Dogs‘, I am interested to see what both can do for each other or how they work off each other. Time will tell, I think.“

"Yeah...listen, we can agree to disagree when it comes to Theresia, but you're not going to find me arguing with you when it comes to Skylar. See, I don't give a shit about the Twitters, and the sooner the Heartbreakers get out of the ring and off my TV the better, but I think one of them said it best. I'm gonna read the tweet right now. From Misako Enjoji, tweeting at Sky underscore Jones: 'Has anyone told you that you're like a pizza cutter? All edge, and no point.' That's the thing with Skylar - doesn't it sum it up perfectly? She knows she's no good at wrestling, so she makes up for it by going out of her way to be as offensive as possible so that people won't notice it! It'd be ingenious, if it didn't mean anyone who got in the goddamn ring with her risks getting outright murdered! She's a disgrace to the sport, and even if she wasn't an absolute maniac, she'd still make an embarrassment of herself with the stupid shit she posts online! No one cares about you, so stop trying to make them!“

Agree to disagree my friend and again we seem to disagree a little because I think somewhere deep down in Fräulein Jones there is a good soul and good wrestler. I don't know what it is but I can't bring myself to just judge her like this. Of course what happened with Yuki Kazikura was terrible and there should have been consequences for Skylar but take the knife away, beat some sense in that thick head and maybe there can be some potential. I could be totally wrong tough and this girl just has to go in jail for attempted murder but lets see what the title shot holds for her. Imagine, Skylar Jones Middleweight Champ... Are your neckhairs already standing up?

"NOT FUNNY! Goddammit, Schneider, don't make me think about that shit!

“Hahaha, oh, funny, you mention the Heartbreakers. Funny little group. I ask myself when they‘ll crumble. No really, the ones with the talent are Misako and Kyoko and Sachiko... Well she isn‘t completely out of talent but if you ask me, both Kyoko and Misako would fair better without her. Yes they had a good winning streak but rarely can it be traced back to their "leader.“ My hot guess is that Misako will take over when she realizes that she doesn‘t need her anymore. What becomes of Sachiko then? I dunno, her ongoing feud with Veronika Noir, also an Austrian Eagle, is nothing short of entertaining. Can't wait for their next match, and there will be one, believe me.
But seeing how the Heartbreakers got defeated in like minutes by one person, a debutee no less, I am really asking myself what is going through the heads of this girls...“

The thing with the Heartbreakers is honestly the same issue with Skylar, when you think about it - they're both more interested in making sure they get their name out there by doing goofy shit than in being good wrestlers. And you're right in saying that Sachiko's on thin ice when it comes to being a leader - with her hot temper and her hard-headedness, I don't think it'll be long before she starts running into issues if she wants to keep the Heartbreakers as a strong faction, especially with her running off on her little...I don't know what you would call whatever she has with Veronika, but it's something alright! If you ask me, though, the worst thing about her is sticking to the name Koizumi. I know that Akira's not amused with her running around with it, flaunting the family name in all of her antics. With her being such a big merch seller - probably from all the thirsty old men who want to sniff her panties but don't think they can get away with asking her for it, because I know she'd let them - I can only hope that the name Koizumi won't some day be remembered for this shithead, and not for the game-changer in the golden age of joshi wrestling her aunt was..."

"Ahahaha, lighten up old boy, we aren‘t the target audience anymore anyway. Well, Sachiko, as strange as this sounds, has to find her style. She is just a brute, going into matches without a plan, and the tie against Veronika and the brutal beatdown by Janet Wiilams showed that. Of course she is a Sukeban, giving no shits about rules or big plans and I kind of like that. Her big, hardcore badass facade crumbled often in the Halloween Match. Man, that thing. I was at ringside for an article and let me tell you, that was something. Sachiko had never had these problems against a fellow wrestler except Janet afterwards but that match...started something. Veronika shamed her, the notorouius gangleader, did to her what Sachiko did to others before and THIS is what really pisses her off. Sachiko and Veronika are even and what Sachiko has in strength advantage, Veronika has in technique. It‘s one of the top downloads on the LAW website and still makes a ton of money. I am sure we haven‘t seen the last of them by far. Is it a good rivalry, is it something more? Its hard to say, both girls managed to not stay away from each other the whole match. Lets see what they offer in 2022!
Akira Koizumi yeah, met her you know, when I trained under my sensei here in japan. An unbelievable talent. But lusty old men and horny teenagers bring in the big money and Sachiko sure knows how to capitalize from it. Maybe she‘s a airhead in other departments, but she has some sense of business.“

"Not in the target audience, bah...well, forgive me for wishing wrestling promoters still cared about people who wanted to see wrestling, and not...whatever you'd call the shit that passes for LAW main events these days! Sure, some times you got yourselves a classic wrestling match between two serious athletes who are really trying to win a competition...and then some other times you get this kinda goofy shit! If you ask me, Karl, the fact that Veronika and Sachiko's Halloween match took off the way it did is a sorry state of affairs. I mean, maybe my brain just blocked it out, but I'm having trouble thinking of a single actual wrestling move in that shitshow! If people want to watch two half-naked girls roll around in whipped cream and shove their tits in each others' faces, fine - but I'm pretty sure you don't need to go to a wrestling show to do that! It's embarrassing to any die-hard fans, and it just leaves us wondering why we spent our goddamn money on tickets when that time could've been taken up by the stuff we actually paid to see! Ah...yeah, we might as well go to our next segment, shouldn't we?"

“Now back to the topic at hand, Eiji-san, the now infamous Capture the Flag Match, what are your thoughts on it? It is quite interesting how one match has divided and shaped the lives of these formidable four young ladies in one night.“

Now, when it comes to Capture the Flag...y'know, I can't say I know what the bookers were thinking, spinning a match off the football games and not even holding it in England or Austria, but either way it seemed like the fans got into it all the same, so it hit the crossover appeal. But honestly? Everyone did a good job in there. They all gave it their all, and we saw the seeds that would grow into the rivalries and relationships we're seeing today. If you ask me, though, Molly was the weakest link there. For one - listen, I'm not gonna say it wasn't eye-rolling, but at least when Finella started taking Chelsea's clothes off it was supposed to be for humiliation. But then Molly chose to strip down when she was in the ring with Harmonia at the end, and...what was that about? You can't tell me she'd have any reason to do that but to show off, and showing off never won anyone a match. And speaking of winning a match, the Bunnies could've won if she hadn't frozen up at the end and let the Austrians take the flag, when she had time to stop them. It goes back to what I'm saying - if she just wanted to look cute, she should've gone into the idol business, or modeling, or this Instawhatever influencer thing the kids do these days. If she's going to let that keep her from winning a wrestling match, then what's the point of her wrestling? I tell you what, Karl, people these days forget what it means to be in the ring, and to try to win a contest!"

“All nationalistic pride aside, England should have won this. The Bunnies, even if their winning streak was not that fancy, faced off against Harmonia Edelstein, a relatively newcomer, and her sister, who only had experience in underground wrestling, having a hardhitting but sloppy, risque style if any style at all. That got better too since then, but we talk about Finella in a minute. What happened with Moni and Molly there was something...unexpected but it speaks for Molly that she managed to break out of the bearhug of Harmonia Edelstein, one of her favourites, and having seen Molly succumb to this kind of move often, giving her small, petite frame, this time she had bitten through, and I believe if she and Harmonia hadn‘t started to develop feelings for each other, this match would have seen the Bunnies win even if Chelsea was pretty beaten up and humiliated by Finella. In fact, I haven‘t seen a rivalry develop that fast. Some people, me included, deduced that it isn‘t their differences that make them hate each other but their similarities. Think there is truth in that?
And talking about the Superstars, oh I am pretty sure that Harmonia and Molly will definetly take from each other and will become a strong force in the LAW Tag Division.“

"Yeah, we're getting carried away again. You're right that Molly showed some strength and endurance in that match that you don't often see out of a lightweight like her, but I'd say the fact that it was her attachment to Harmonia that kept her from winning the match isn't any point in her favor. Regardless of whether or not she likes her opponents, she should still at least be trying to win, and if she can't put personal feelings aside you can't really say she's doing her best. But with Finella and Chelsea...yeah, it was hard to believe it was their first time meeting each other back there with how quickly they went to trying to kill each other. Even when they weren't tagged in they were brawling all through ringside. I can see what you mean about the similiarities - they're both brash, aggressive, and outspoken, even if they're paired up with their more personable sisters, and neither of them are the type to let water off a duck's back. It's possible that they see in each other the things they don't want to admit about themselves, and they're taking it out on each other because they're afraid to do a little introspection to come to terms with those things. What do you say, Karl?“

“I know both girls and can say that you are exactly right. Chelsea and Finella are on each side of the colour spectrum but they are so wide outside that they touch each other again - if you get what I am trying to tell here, it was a hit and miss. If Chelsea would have been a little more amicable and Finella less brash, they could have become best of friends, believe me. But miracles still happen. But for now they have to settle this score. There was much too much bad blood flowing and believe me, you and LAW don't know half the story...let‘s just say England and Austria had a more then unsound meeting at the Eagles Nest when no one was at home. Still, it made me excited. Because there is much at stake for both girls. Chelsea wants to break free from her chains that hold her down and Finella wants to leave a mark as true badass here at LAW. Speaking about, Finella Edelstein really made a name for herself, not in every kind of match that you would support, but tell me what do you think about the so-called "Hellraiser" that managed to raise Hell in no time here at LAW?

“You know, if they'd have made a better first impression, I could actually see Chelsea and Finella making a solid tag team together. You know they have a lot in common with their style in the ring, not to mention their attitudes. They both have a knack for causing trouble and getting in fights, and they both don't take shit from anyone. If their first match wasn't one that already had the matter of national pride going into it - which Chelsea feels pretty strongly about, you'll note - things might have gone differently. As it stands, though, Finella's got the start of a promising tag team run with Chris Yukine, who I think is showing some potential of her own. I mean, once she got out of getting roped into rolling around in the mud, she was able to show us her grappling skills, and I've been impressed so far - what about you, Karl?"

“Chelsea and Finella as a Tag Team, oh please don't start, those are the missed opportunities that make MY heart break. I mean, imagine it. Those two could be a force in the lightweight and tag division. But I think their rivalry is just as entertaining, thankfully. Chris Yukine?
(Bearbeitet)
A lovely young woman, met her when she helped Harmonia with her big promo. She is a highflyer ace and nothing short of a master technician. Her only disadvantage is her delicate build that makes her vulnerable for hardhitting attacks.
But after this grueling matches against Veronika who, wisely, now feuds with Sachiko a more fitting rival for her than Chris, the young rocker has gotten out victorious. She showed heart, spirit and toughness and I think Moonrock, as with the Superstars, consisting of a strong grappler and a highflying ace, can go far as both styles can perfectly borrow from each other...“

"As for Moonrock, they do have a good potential for success, but I'll tell you if they get there when I see it! The key to it all is if they're going to be content with being a rock band of wrestlers who occasionally wrestle, or if they're going to be a tag team that does music on the side. Because y'know what? If they focus all their effort on their music, why the hell do they need to wrestle for!? They're just gonna end up in the same position as the seven thousand idols that thought they'd get into the wrestling business and got snatched up by LAW! And does anyone want to be the next Sakura Hagiwara?!"

“Oh both Chris Yukine and Finella Edelstein are fighters by soul and musicians by heart I would say. From what I could gather, Yukine-san spent her days studying music and then trained, day in day out. Her matches and her determination speak for themselves as do Finella‘s. I think we have an explosive debut on the horizon.
Anyway, before I introduce my next guests I have a little highlight reel prepared under the title ‘Of Angels and Demons‘, named after my first article for this feud.
Well, the music and the images spoke for themself I think. What do you say to the great artwork our talented artist Shineh did for this match? All of this is culminating in a no holds barred Street Fight on We are LAW 5! Are you as excited as I am, Eiji-san?“

*a highlight reel is playing, showing the highlights of the official meetings of Chelsea and Finella in the ring accompanied by a song*
Spoiler
"I'm sure these two ladies will go every mile and then some when it comes to settling the score. With how the two of them are, and how much they hate each other, I don't expect them to shy away from any length when it comes to putting down their rivalry, and they're sure to take good advantage of the stipulations. The lingerie is...an interesting touch, I'll give Finella that. But if I know these two, they won't let it get to them, and it won't make it any less brutal when they get their hands on each other."

“As a member in Chelsea‘s team let me say, Chelsea was never more invested in her training than now. You will see, the Chelsea Forster that will appear on We are LAW 5 is far away from the cheating, brawling indie punk she cultivated. The March Hare and the Hellraisers‘ clash will be nothing less then a spectacle and I can't wait to see them both in action at the peak of their power.
We only can guess what will happen but why don't we ask their sisters, Ladies and Gentleman, for the first time together, please welcome the brand-new Team and good friends of mine,
"The Superstars"!

Moni, Molly, first of all I am excited to have you here. I don't think I have to introduce Eiji Matsumoto to you.

"Dankeschön for having us Karl. It is really exciting to do our first interview as Superstars. Hello Eiji-san, it's an honor."

"So, Moni, Molly, are you excited for the PPV?"

"Oh I am looking forward since my opponent has been announced. I am intrested to see what Lexy Alan brings to the table. I will give 100%."

"Hi hi! It's a pleasure to meet you, and an even better plesure to be on the show. Hey, Mum! Hope you're listening!"

"So Molly, you will be at Harmonias side and support her with 200% I presume?"

"Oh, for sure! Moni and I aren't just partners, we're lovers too, and we're not going to put that aside for the big show. I'm going to make sure she hits her mark, and that no one forgets she's a true Superstar! I've been a manager before, so I know a thing or two about building up hype - and I don't think Moni's going to need it, but if I need to step in, I'm ready to!"

"Always a delight to have you around Molly, for sure...ahem, now...
How about your sister, with the invention of "Mad Tea Party", do you think there happened to be a little crack in the British Bunnies team?“

"Ah, well...Chelsea's been a little more distant lately, with all her planning for the blowoff match and all. I like to think that it's just because she has too much on her mind, and she's busy training, but...I do worry, a little. I know Finella won't talk to me any more, and...well, it's never easy to lose contact with a friend like that. But I feel like it'll pass. We're sisters, after all. We've known each other since I was born, and if we've been through all of our differences growing up and still managed to come back together in the end, I don't think this will be any different!“

"And Harmonia, you and Finella only had one match together under the name ‘Austrian Empire‘...“

"Oh, don‘t remind me of that, what a tacky name, it was destined to fail at the beginning...“

“So you regret it?“

Do I regret doing such a petty ‘country vs country‘ match and having such a stupid name? Yes. Do I regret fighting alongside my sister and meeting Molly? No. In fact, it was one of the worst and one of the best evening of my life. Ain't it, darling?“

"Of course. It's crazy to think about how important that one night was to our whole relationship, wasn't it? If we hadn't been booked against each other, I might never have met you...and we'd both be way worse off, wouldn't we? Yeah, the match really pushed me to my limits, and I was worried for Moni when I saw her hit her head the way she did...but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world."

“That's true Darling. You are always right.“

“Uuuh, girls, girls, please, after the show! Hehe, ok, where, were we...
So, what can we expect from Chelsea and Finella? Molly, what do you think drives Chelsea? Harmonia, same question.“

"S-Sorry..! Oh, gosh, did I really say all that out loud? Ahem, well...trust me, I know Chelsea better than anyone, and I would know. She doesn't like to let on about it to anyone, so don't tell anyone I said this...but I think she does this because she thinks it's how she can be accepted. When she was younger, she always wanted to break into a music career, but that didn't go anywhere, and she turned to wrestling after that. I guess what made her take to it was that if she had to beat people up so they'd care about her, she'd do it. But...I think, deep down, she doesn't want to be so harsh, she just thinks she has to. She'd rather be booed than to have no one care about her at all. Even then, though, I've seen how she talks about my fans some times, and how she doesn't know why I always get cheered when she gets booed. She sounds jealous, if you ask me. So, I'd say she really does want to be cheered, she just doesn't know how to, and she goes for the next best thing."

"My sister...well, thats a good question. You see, as you and Eiji-san already said, Finella and Chelsea have much in common, but I think what separates them is that Finella doesn't necessarely looks for fame. She joined LAW to have fun, at least she told me that. What happened between her and Chelsea is just another adrenaline kick for her and she relishes in it. And sad to say what drives her must be the absolute hate and contempt for Chelsea..."

"Uuuh Molly this is live and you just shared this little secret with... Wow, since you two arrived we are in the millions. Eiji-san maybe next time you should come in a dress or something cause you did'nt earn us that much views!"

"A WHAT-!? Nngh...dammit, Schneider!"

"Mollymouse, you really should think before you speak. And yes, I have the slight feeling that both want to prove something. Well... Me and my sister don't have the best relationship right now but I hope that they know how far they can go with each other... "

"The millions?! Oh my god, Moni, did you hear that-!? Heh...and that would get us a lot of attention, I'd say! Uh, okay, what was I saying? Don't worry. She doesn't know Japanese, so she won't be able to understand this. But...maybe I should be more careful in the future, heh. I'll try. Sorry..."

“So, are you both afraid your sisters could seriously hurt each other? After what happened at the Eagles Nest I am not sure if it is a wise idea to let them at each other without a referee, what do you say, Molly?“

"I do think that's a valid concern. Moni and I were hoping that there wouldn't be any trouble at the Eagles' Nest, but...well, you saw how that turned out. That was something that happened between closed doors, though, with just the two of them. What I'm hoping happens is that if they know the cameras are on them, and that there's people watching, it'll keep them from taking things too far. That...or it'll encourage them more, but I don't want to think about that..."

"Well, as I work closely with Chelsea right now, all I can say is that she is focused and she does everything to prove to LAW and the world that she is worthy of their praise. I really got to know the person Chelsea Forster over the last weeks and as with Finella... both are good girls inside, they just have something inside them that won't let them go. I am sure it will be exciting and after that...who knows?"

"You're words in God‘s ear, Karl..."

“Okay, time for some Fan Questions, RoseGoldSimp98 what the... Okay, RoseGoldSimp98 wants to know, from you Eiji, when Finella fought Mikoto and Clair of Team Edgeworks, she got beaten up brutally by Clair and Chelsea afterwards. Some say Finella could have spared herself by accepting the victory Team Edgeworks gave her but instead she beat Mikoto up and exhausted herself, ready for a hard beating by the Canadian and the Englishwoman. What are your thoughts on this match, Finella‘s behaviour, and Chelsea‘s appearance?

"I'm sorry, who's asking us the question? Ahem, well...you know, I reviewed the tape of the Team Edgeworks match, and honestly...everyone in that match needed to get told off by someone in charge! Finella made a rookie mistake of taking things too personally and letting herself fall into a trap. If she had taken a step back and not gotten her panties in a twist over what she thought was her opponents mocking her, she might have been in a better position to keep herself from getting sucker-punched. But Mitoko barely even seemed to give a damn! Here's what I wanna know, why are you even bothering agreeing to the match anyway if you're just going to show all the emotion of a dead fish? If you got this far, to land a spot in a major wrestling promotion, then why the hell are you just phoning it in for! Wrestle! If that's not what you want to do, you're wasting your time! I have the same thoughts about that girl with the stupid hat who made her debut a while back, Hana Tanaka, I think it was? Half the match, she wasn't even bothering to do any moves, she just goofed off and lazed around! Then why even get in the ring, if you're not gonna put effort into it!? Then you're just wasting your time! Apparently, she's supposed to be this big reality TV star in Korea, which explains why she got hired to begin with - because it's definitely not because she can wrestle! Goddamn TV execs and their publicity stunts...the one good thing they did was keeping apartment wrestling off TV and saving us from looking like even more of a joke than today's wrestlers want to make it!
And then, with Clair and Chelsea...if they were going to be the most invested in beating Finella up out of everyone, why not book them for the match? Finella might be in better shape for when they show up, and she might put up more of a fight, plus we might actually get a match worth booking if everyone actually gives a shit about what they're doing! The only reason they didn't, if you ask me, is that those two decided to take the easy route, and beat up someone when they knew they could get away with it. And if that's how you want to make a statement leading up to your blowoff match...guess what, dumbass, now I care even less about you because you look like a coward who can't fight your own battles! I'm willing to give Chelsea the benefit of the doubt because I've seen what she can do, but when this is the most noteworthy thing Clair has to her name, I can't say I'm jumping to buy tickets for a card she's gonna be on! For all I know, she'll just fall asleep halfway through and let her girlfriend beat her opponent up for her this time! Fair's fair, right?"

“Hm, I think Chelsea would have to disagree with you on some parts of your opinion, Eiji-san, let‘s hope you two never meet in a dark alley.“

"Heh...probably! I'd watch out if I were you, Eiji-san. I'll try to tell Chelsea to stay out of your way, but you know how she can be..."

"Hmph, well..! It's like what I've always said - if all else fails, I can at least run pretty fast for my age!“

"As for Chelsea...she's always been a strong-willed person. She knew she wanted to do something with her life, even when she wasn't quite sure what, and I feel like with wrestling she was able to find something she'd been pushing for for some time. But even still, I don't know if her hate for Finella runs as deep as she lets on. And that goes for both of them. Just between you and me...I've been able to talk to Finella heart-to-heart, and she has parts of her that she doesn't want to show the world, either. I really do think Chelsea has more in common with her than she thinks. Honestly, if the whole country vs. country thing didn't get her all heated up, I have to wonder...maybe it's as simple as that."

“Speaking of, when LAW had a guest appearance in the southern hemisphere it seemed that Chelsea Forster, who was not booked to appear, indeed appeared at ringside when Finella Edelstein had beaten Lorelei, so Chelsea more or less followed Finella. Molly, this goes to you. Was Chelsea always that determined when trying to reach her goals?
If I may be blunt, as neither of those two are here right now, don't you think that, if things turned out a little different they could have become best of friends? Even if they don't admit it, they are very alike and seem to enjoy the same things."

“Ah, yeah, that match Finella wrestled in New Zealand, I think it was? You know, Karl, that was hot off the heels of when you sent me the clip of their arm wrestling match around Christmastime, and then they were out on the beach in the middle of summer a week or so later! Must've been quite an adjustment. You know how hard I can get on them for not taking things seriously, but seeing the travel routines some of these girls put themselves up to, I have to commend them for keeping up. I know it's not quite Ric Flair defending his championship 10 nights in a row, but...I mean, we can't all be Ric Flair, Karl!"

“Speak for yourself, Eiji-san, woooo!
Sorry, sorry, hey don't look at me like that I know that was a bad joke. Okay, I think it‘s time we wrap this up.
Moni, Molly, thank you for coming, what‘s in the future for you?“

Oh nothing but success I hope! I think we can finally reveal whom we are debuting against. Ladies and Gentleman, the one and only Superstars will face off against Irish Oldschool next week! Make sure to come and cheer for us. And Peggy, Lauren, luck of the Irish my ass, when we are through with you, you two lasses can go back to your Ireland searching for four-leaved clovers. The Superstars are the best European wrestling has to offer right now and we‘ll challenge each and every one to find out! See the Eagle and the three Lions together? Man, you better run!

"Well, that is quite the surprise! Considering you have lost to Peggy two months ago. Are you looking for retribution?"

"Oh please, Karl, this is far more then my pride. I am above those things now. Just one thing is for sure, our American and Irish friends are in for a ride. Molly and I spent day and night in the gym. Forget the unsure Model Harmonia Edelstein and forget the naive younger part of the British Bunnies. That‘s over. We are Superstars now and we will show LAW that we mean business! And we will fight until we reach the top and have something shiny around our waists, won‘t we, Molly?"

"High aspirations with the Superstars there. Maybe when you‘ve got the gold around the waist, it would be time for something shiny around your ring fingers?"

"Karl! You‘re making Molly blush, Dummkopf."

Sorry Molly, couldn‘t resist. Anyway. Our last impressions. I know these two girls by heart and they will do what they have to do at this PPV and it will get as brutal as it can be, but as we say in Austria: ‘We bash our heads in and afterwards we have a beer together.‘ I think when both have let off their steam their rivalry will become much more friendly. I have nothing but high hopes and look forward to LAW‘s biggest PPV yet.

"Whoah, careful there, Karl! You keep drumming up this English-Irish thing, we might have a war on our hands!"

"Hey, Moni's Austrian, and Lauren's American - I think it's going to be fine. Besides, I'm not here to represent England, even if I wear the Lions with pride. I'm here to stand by Harmonia, doing what I do best - and we're going to make a name for ourselves as LAW's next top tag team! Soon enough, we're going to prove what we can accomplish when we work together - and if everything we've been working on is any indication, we'll make a splash! I'm going to be in Moni's corner at We Are LAW, but I think the real excitement is still to come when we make our team debut!"

“Eiji, thanks for coming here and aiding me with your expertise. Next time you come in the promised dress, yes?“

"THIS WAS YOUR IDEA!"
