There is no shortage of smother-based wrestlers in L.A.W, and even those who don't necessarily specialize in them, may indulge time to time. So with the wide-spread usage of such a move, and even a match type specifically encouraging the use of them, it's definitely no niche thing, so a Smother Championship is in order...! Cough cough, Mr. DeFranco... Cough, cough... Hey, speaking of Mr. DeFranco, is anyone surprised to hear he actually wrestles himself? That's crazy, I wonder how good he is... Anyway, this article is to highlight 10 potential wrestlers who could take this hypothetical belt, and along with it, the glory of being the greatest smother-er in all of L.A.W!
It's well worth mentioning, I made my first article on the cutest butts in L.A.W, but having the cutest butt in L.A.W, doesn't mean you are the best at using it! Not to mention, butts are far from the only way to smother out your opponent, you can use your boobs, feet, arm-pits, even your belly...! So the smothering world is your oyster, you just have to... Eat it...?
I'm not acquainted with every single wrestler in L.A.W, so this list may be subject to some scrutiny! Not to mention, breaking this down to just 5 was already a difficult enough task, this list could easily stretch well past being a top 50. But, enough of all this fluff, it's time to get into the top 10 potential Smother Champions!
10. Newbio Nuo
We'll tip of the list with none other than, Miss Nuo! She is a relatively new face in L.A.W, but that doesn't mean she lacks what it takes to be a champion! She seems to play a little on the safe side, but not matter, she's knocked out 3 people with her smothers, 3! And she even beat me, which contrary to popular belief, isn't easy to do...!
9. Shibuya Yuko
I know what you might be saying, "Who is Shibuya Yuko?" Well, that makes sense, because she hasn't had a match yet! Then how is she on the list for potential champions? Well, just look at her! That's a smothering machine! If you ever wondered what a smothering machine looks like, just look at the picture above, that's what it looks like...! She does have a few matches penciled in, so only time will tell if my judgement on her being a smother monster are correct.
8. Eileen Sommers
Miss Eileen Sommers made my list of cutest butts as well, but she has the skill to pay the bills as well! She could easily take down everyone in this room without breaking a sweat! (Reference, I'm writing this alone in my bedroom.) One of her signature moves is just a simple facesit, which to me at least, shows she doesn't need to get fancy to win, though, everyone loves to get a little frisky with their moves now and again, or for me, as often as possible, I mean, that's half the fun! This is all not to say Eileen isn't able to make waves with style, she absolutely can, no potential champion couldn't...!
7. Harmonia Edelstein
The Austrian Beauty, also know as, Harmonia Edelstien, is without a doubt, a top contender for the Smother Belt! I mean, her finisher is call the Stinkface of Death, need I say more? Probably, so I will! It's always a great idea, not just in wrestling, but in any sport, to be multi-faceted, and in the world of smothers, it definitely could do you more good than harm! And looking at the picture above, you and I both know Miss Edelstein has much more than that Stinkface of Death up her sleeve!
6. Laura "Silver" Abreu
One could argue against putting Silver so high on this list, saying she lacks technical skill, and that she could lose to any of the women I prevoiusly listed, but that's just wrestling for you, anyone can beat anyone, and Silver, while maybe not a great wreslter in the traditinal sense, is a great smother specialist, which really, is what the Smother Championship is all about! (Duh!) And Silver is no doubt, at least in the conversation for being a contender for this belt.
5. Yuna Matou
I think you could easily make a good argument for Miss Yuna being not just one of the top contenders, but the number one favorite! And I'd be hard pressed to disagree with you! She's ever really had an official smother match, but she is booked in for one against Black Swan! One huge advantage Yuna has, is her size, which isn't something you can just look over when talking about smothers. A heavyweight will have a much easier time trapping someone underneath them than a lightweight, but of course, it's not so black and white, there are plenty of lightweights perfectly capable of taking the Smother Championship for their own, even taking down someone like Miss Yuna if she were to get in their way, umm, sorry to say that on your spot, Miss Yuna...
4. Wicke Sykes
Who else other than the 2020 Swimsuit Smother Smackdown winner to be on this list? She has more than proved her ability to take down her opponents with smothers alone, but she also has great personality, which could make her a favorite on anyone's list, everyone wants a champion they can root for, and she has what it takes to give everyone just that! It's hard to find more to say about her, winning last years Smother Smackdown kind of tells the whole story!
3. The Booty Princesses
"Wait? Aren't these two different people?" Yes, yes they are! The Smother Championship would more than likely be a belt for 1 on 1 matches, so why put these two together? A few reasons really! One being, they are at their strongest when they are together, it scary, they almost seize to be humans, the way they move, the way the can read each others minds, it's scary! But the other reason is, I don't think one is better than the other, so they fit best sharing a spot anyway, so this could be viewed as both of them together, the both of them separately, or just one or the other! But the point remains, these two are a deadly duo, and they get bonus point for the creativity of their signature moves...!
2. Ducky Williams
This could be a surprise to some, or an expected result to many, for a multitude of reasons, but allow me to explain! Ducky is to many, one of the biggest faces in L.A.W, if not the face of L.A.W itself! Like Michael Jordan was to the NBA, or like your face to my butt! Mwahaha! But popularity alone doesn't make a champion, but one doesn't really get popular in this league without having some reason for it, and Ducky's is her smothers! But something that I think makes her so deadly, and so high on this list, is that she isn't just a great smother specialist, but also a really great all around wrestler! There is one weakness though, that being that I think she really likes being smothered...!

Hey, that's me...! For my first list, I excluded myself, but that rule doesn't apply here, I'm the number one contender, baby! Come at me, I'll smother you out with everything I got...! Okay, so, I talked a lot about certain things it takes to make a champion, and the varying reasons why some of the great women on this list had exactly what it took! But, honestly, it's anyone's game! And I'm anyone. So while maybe I'm relatively limited in terms of what I can smother with, that doesn't take away the creativity of it all, if anything, it encourages it! I may not be traditionally trained in all of this, but I think the number one recipe for making a champion, is a good heart, and having fun!
