She’s been in this business for years, but she’s shown time and time again that she still has what it takes to contend with anyone. While her first run might have been a relatively short one, she made an impact that few are going to forget soon - and now, in LAW, she’s prepared to make lightning strike twice.
That’s right, I’m talking about the one and only Cyber Widow! A veteran of CWA, she’s well known to wrestling historians for her feuds with titans of the ring like Mike Hagger and our own Alaina Sanders. But when you talk about the career of Ms. Theresia Niedermeyer, the first thing that comes to mind (after you’ve already covered her being the first woman to win the CWA Heavyweight Championship, of course) has to be the time she ended the career of Yoko Harmageddon - the mentor of the legendary Rainbow Mika - by breaking her neck with her infamous Frankensteiner.
For decades, that was the match that marked the Widow’s last time in the ring. Now that she’s back in action, she’s made things perfectly clear that she’s not afraid to keep using her trademark finisher. The controversy abounds as to whether or not it’s safe; some of even my coworkers would call it disrespectful toward Yoko. But our favorite sport has come a long way since the 80s, which leaves us with the question - can Widow’s Frankensteiner still measure up to the standards of today?
To answer that question, I tracked down Cyber Widow at a LAW training facility, where I had the pleasure of discussing her finisher with her face to face.
“I’ve been perfecting the Frankensteiner ever since I started wrestling,” she said. “I’ll admit just one thing - when I started out, I didn’t win a lot of matches with it. That was before I learned how to use it to the best of my advantage - and once I did? Well, all you punks found out about that!”
There’s a secret to Widow’s Frankensteiner that makes it as deadly as it is - “Most wrestlers just latch onto their opponent’s head and throw them down,” she described. “Me? I’m 6’6, and 209 pounds of pure muscle and some killer thighs. First of all, I go after the neck, not the head, and already that’s going to make it hurt worse. Then, though, I lift my whole body up, using my height to build the momentum. And when I flip off the ground, whatever poor sap’s unlucky enough to be in the ring with me’s going straight down on their unprotected head and neck!”
Well, that definitely sounds painful, all right! But we know the Widow’s one to brag, and actions speak louder than words. In the name of bringing the truth to you LAW fans, I bravely stepped forward with a proposition - to take a Frankensteiner from Cyber Widow herself, just to see if it’s all it’s cracked up to be! The veteran just laughed, and from there I left it to our crack team of photographers to capture the moment…
[Accompanying the article are a few photos showing Haruka standing in a sparring ring alongside Cyber Widow, the veteran easily dwarfing her. She stood firmly as Widow ran in closer and threw her legs around her neck, and then hurled the buxom young reporter firmly into the canvas, causing it to shake as S-chan’s body came bucking off the mat from the neck down!]
...Well, I should be glad our crack team of photographers were there, because after that happened, everything around me went white, and I sure didn’t feel like getting up any time soon! I was rushed to the nearest hospital, where I was able to finish this article from my bed. Don’t worry, S-chan’s going to be back on the scene with LAW Magazine soon enough - even if I’ll be wearing a neck brace for the next few weeks. Either way, I think we can say it with confidence that Cyber Widow and her Frankensteiner are everything their reputation says they are - times may change, but some things will always stay the same!
