Victory by KO only

Throwing her fist forward with the will and power of a woman possessed, the young debuting Marissa Wiltsure was the definition of eager. With several training sessions on the LAW premises as it were under her belt, and more than enough outrageously extreme targets set, the buxom young beauty was ready and willing and then some. Marissa being Marissa had not opted to debut by some measly standard means either, the idea of being plain somewhat opposed initially with that extreme appearance; her spiky hair practically reaching the ceiling, as each intense and sharp ab shone in the light thanks to that revealing almost wrap-like top. The spiky haired middleweight had opted to debut in the 2018 edition of the Last Woman Standing Tournament, with not mere intention to simply 'do well.' Mere excellent participation was for losers! She wasn't here to simply put up a good fight!
She was here to be the fight!
Having already appeared before the masses long before she was signaled to, Marissa had already begun to unload. Lefts and rights, hooks and jabs, sweeps and spikes, all aimed at that invisible opponent before her, much to the unnerving chagrin of the nearby official. If Marissa was unloading this much on the wind, what was she going to have in store for the woman she'd soon be tying up with, that very much possessed flesh and bone?
Only time would tell, as her eyes turned to the ramp; the lights flickering, as her opponent, and first obstacle towards her path to victory made it's appearance!
--------
With Melody's friendship with Navi straining further and further after We Are LAW in January, she really needed something to let out her frustrations. Just in time with that, the 2018 installment of Last Woman Standing tournament was announced. Unless a particular cat decided to take her chances at the tournament again this year, this was a perfect opportunity for her to stop worrying about Navi, and focus on herself once more for a change...
And even better, Kat wasn't in the tourney. In fact...she was the only returning face this year. Seemed like people had their fill of knocking each other's brain's out last year:
"What does that say about me?", Melody would think, as she was getting changed, half-joking...and half-worried...
Still, she decided that, right now, before the beginning of the match, was the worst time to question her match preferences...she had to knock her opponent out tonight.
And a peculiar part about that was that Melody's opponent was a LAW Debutee, despite signing her contract a while ago. Were she to win the tourney, it would be quite a debut for Marissa...
Keyword being "were".
As she watched the spiky haired woman entering, while she felt bad to ruin the girl's debut, she had to win tonight to get back into the swing of things in LAW, as well as to get a title shot at Tina later down the line...or at the World Title tourney in the next few months.
With a crew member giving her a minute before her entrance, the greenette marched towards the Gorilla position...
A few moments later, she burst out onto the entrance ramp, much to a good pop from the fans! Seems like they haven't fully forgotten about her.
Cheerfully, she would make her way down the ring, clapping hands with people in the front row, of the venue, before rolling into the ring, giving one last bow to the crowd before her song faded away.
She would take off her jacket and shirt, leaving her in her regular ring attire, quite similar to Marissa's...except her's was more green.
Afterwards, Melody would step towards the middle of the ring, with her hand outstretched: "Hello. I know from experience these matches tend to get out of hand quickly...but no hard feelings after the match, ok?", she would ask, with a small, honest smile on her face.
--------
Clicking near enough every bone she could in either hand, to say Marissa was eager to go would have been the definition of understatement. She wasn't second guessing herself in the slightest; be it the kindest foe in the world before her, or a bitch ripe for the slaughter, Marissa would be going in all the same. Head first, full power, with intent to break something. Such was only fair she figured, given the rules and stipulations the two had willingly set upon themselves by entering the tournament!
Watching with keen, skewed eyes as Melody made her entrance, Marissa imagined a reality in which she'd start the match herself early; by demonstrating to the world and her foe both just how eager she was to win this thing, with an astounding and careless suicide dive or similar. But bound by the concept of fair play, and by no means aiming to start off her wrestling career with such a cheap showing, Marissa instead let out that raw, flowing energy by pacing herself left to right; soon changing that motion into a hopping from one foot to the other, as Melody entered to join her.
When that hand was offered, Marissa rejected it not out of rudeness, but somewhat out of a feeling of awkwardness. How would she feel about shaking the hand of the girl she was scheduled to kick the crap out of? And one whom was set to do the same. Instead she'd look to it, before looking at Melody; instead opting for something of a nod of mutual respect as she put a halt to her motion.
"No hard feelings." Words spoken simply and flatly, albeit words meant none the less by the spiky haired beauty.
--------
Instead of shaking her hand, Marissa would flatly reply to Melody: "No hard feelings". Melody understood the girl meant no disrespect, else she would've jumped the bell by now, likely simply having same logic as Navi, about showing respect when she was about to try and beat her to a bloody pulp. It was always a bit awkward with hardcore matches where she faced a foe she had no ill will towards. She simply had to win, no matter the reward...
She would nod back to her, and go back to her corner, awaiting the ring of the bell to start the first round match of the tourney...
DING DING DING
Melody wouldn't be closing the distance between her and Marissa quickly. Instead, she would slowly close the distance between the 2 of them, anticipating the spiky haired woman to strike first!
--------
Melody was right in her prediction: Marissa was a form whom charged in head first, unleashing blow after blow with every bit of strength she could muster, from the opening bell to the ending one. Her size somewhat unbefitting of her true strength, Melody would find herself very much experiencing the same sensation as being handled by a figure of heavyweight power!
Pacing forward but two steps the moment the bell rung, save for the shortest of periods after as to ensure that the audience and Melody both would not see the attack as cheap, Marissa threw her right up and far; trying to practically take Melody's head off from the get-go, with a monumental hook!
--------
With the opening bell still ringing, Marissa launched for Melody like a heat seeking missile with a balled fist, clear on her intention of drawing the first blood in the match!
Sadly for her, Melody was anticipating the spiky haired girl to lunge at her, and she would bring her left hand to her side to block her foe's incoming right hook!
"Ugh!", Melody grunted. Her arm softened the blow...but she still felt the sting of Marissa's punch on it, as well as feeling her brain shake in her head a little from the impact...
The greenette wouldn't wait even a millisecond to give Marissa a receipt for her attack, launching her right fist upward to try and uppercut Marissa!
--------
Melody may have blocked the strike, but Marissa was not the sort to be deterred from the simple act of her foe stifling her intention. Keeping close and holding her arms up, Melody's body language screamed to the Brit an attack of her own was coming.
Rather than try to beat it with one of her own, the spikey haired powerhouse reared back as that strike connected, squarely to the chin of the girl. The strike a tad mitigated by that motion but enough to snap Marissa's head back all the same, the roaring Brit forced herself through the pain to lunge that head forward.
And immediately snap at the girl with a clashing headbutt!
--------
With Melody's fist connecting, the greenette Brit would attempt to move closer to her fellow countrywoman, preparing to follow up her attack with a kick to her side!
...only for Melody realize too late that her punch connecting was, in fact, part of her foe's counter, as Marissa would roar at her as she swiftly brought her forehead straight into her nose!
"GUAAH!"
Melody's arms would go straight to her nose, as she herself staggered back, barely maintaining her footing. Although the headbutt was harsh, her nose didn't appear to be really injured...even if it did hurt like hell...
--------
A headbutt as ever was something of a double edged sword, regardless of how tough you were. The forehead wasn't exactly something one could train easily, save for simply bashing away at a gym bag until the vision in your eyes began to turn dizzy...
Nonetheless, Marissa only recoiled half as much as her foe before forcing her left leg back; catching her frame, so that she may seize the advantage. And much like the strike with her noggin' prior, Marissa opted for the simple approach.
By simply tucking her arms low to flip her foe fully in the air as she tried to lift her, before dumping her straight down in a textbook scoop-slam!
--------
Still dazed by Marissa's headbutt, the fellow Brit would recover slightly quicker from her own attack compared to Melody, as she would quickly approach the greenette to grab her between her legs and at her shoulder...
From there, the spiky haired woman would flip Melody in the air before painfully body slamming her onto the ground:
"AAAAAGH!", she screamed, arching her back after the attack...
--------
The slam was simple, but it paid the bills. Driving that modest frame into the canvas with due force, Marissa only took a second to pull herself back, rotating her shoulders as she did so.
"Can't stop won't stop..." Muttering to herself in somewhat overconfidence, the Brit then shot forward before rearing her feet up and out; looking to drive her small yet surprisingly packed frame's weight into Melody, via a senton!
--------
Marissa got herself back up to her feet fairly quickly as Melody more than struggled to do so, still laying flat on her back, as the spiky haired brawler dangerously loomed over her...muttering something quietly to herself...
...before jumping up into the air, and aiming her frame straight at Melody's frame!
Realizing what her foe was going for just in time, Melody would pull her knees to her stomach, looking to spike Marissa with them so that the Senton hurt her rival more!
--------
Her eyes to the sky, Marissa had little idea what the girl was doing beneath her. In her mind, she was but a placid doll ready for the squashing. At worst, Melody would move out of the way, only for Marissa to force herself through the rough fall of dropping on that canvas to go for her still.
She didn't at all expect near enough been stabbed in the back!
"GAHHHH!" Her head shooting around as she gagged, dropping off those knees near enough instantly, Marissa turned her frame inadvertently away from Melody as she writhed on her side. Hand soothing her back, what little solace she could take in the fact she landed on her foe still was near enough nothing, given she imagined Melody felt a slight discomfort at best!
