Hello, LAW! It's that time again!
A while back, I put together a thread summarizing the LAW Young Lioness Program, and what's been established and collaboratively built around the concept by the community. Since I did that, I've noticed an increase in the number of new characters made for the program, and I think that's great! I'm glad people are seeing potential in the concept, and I'm always happy to contribute to fleshing out the lore of LAW. Since this site started, the community's done a great job of making the world of LAW grow, and it's been an incredible journey to embark on with you all.
With interest in the program at an all-time high, I believe it's about time that we can start doing something with it, and in the interest of striking while the iron's hot, I would like to propose a new event for LAW - the Young Lioness Cup.
The idea is to hold a round-robin tournament, with all the entrants being LAW's Young Lionesses. Inspired by NJPW's Young Lion Cup, each entrant will face off against each other entrant in a series of matches, with 2 points awarded to the winner and 0 to the loser; in the event of a tie, each competitor gets 1 point. At the end of the tourney, the entrant with the most points is awarded a trophy, commemorating their victory in the tournament.
Your character winning the tournament will not necessarily confer any special privileges, such as a title shot or main roster promotion. But the winner will likely receive a fair amount of attention, which could play into whatever storylines you wish to tell with the character in question. Aside from that, feel free to use the event as an opportunity to set up rivalries and develop characters - basically, anything you'd want out of a tournament arc!
My purpose for pitching this event is twofold. On one hand, I want to give an opportunity to make something meaningful of the Young Lioness Program, beyond just being a backstory element. If the event is a success, it could lead to future Young Lioness events and threads in the future. In addition, I want to prove that a round robin tournament can be done on LAW. I often see people discussing round robins as a concept that people are interested in, but that is believed to be difficult to pull off. However, I believe with the right size bracket and proper commitment from those involved, it could be done.
For this test run of the Young Lioness Cup, I am looking at limiting things to four entrants. This way, there would only be six matches total, something I believe could be done in a reasonable amount of time. Doing each match simultaneously is encouraged as well in order to cut back on the time it takes to finish them; this can be accomplished in DMs or by asking a mod to set up a private thread. Inspired by other tournaments Noob and myself have run in the past, I plan on using a random number generator to determine everyone's ranking, but users will be allowed to trade spots with each other with the permission of all involved.
If this works, I believe it could set a good precedent for LAW, both in finding a way to run round robin tournaments and also in highlighting the characters of the Young Lioness Program, as well as establishing how the concept can be used in play. If all goes well, we could very well see more round robins or Young Lioness events in the future, perhaps even with larger brackets or doing a finals match between the top two entrants (like NJPW does). Right now, though, I'm starting small to determine if this will work.
If you are interested, please let me know, here or in DMs. I'm looking for four characters to enter, all of whom should be Young Lionesses. If there's not enough interest, I can always throw in one of my own, but I'm looking for others first. In addition, please be willing to commit to getting three matches done in a timely fashion. I've tried to streamline the framework of things as much as possible, but ultimately it's up to you guys to ensure it works out. If all goes well, I'm hoping to get the first two matches on the undercard for We Are LAW, but if necessary I am prepared to start the tournament at another time.
Feel free to ask any questions or give any suggestions, too!

Re: Gauging Interest: The Young Lioness Cup
I'm interested, since I'm wanting to start off a storyline with my character, Joyce Hilda. I would just need some assistance with the RP, specially the commands, since this would be one of my first times, or even my very first time RPing here.

Re: Gauging Interest: The Young Lioness Cup
I'm pleased to announce that the pitch took off, and I now have eight people displaying interest in this idea. Based on this, I'm going to handle things a little differently.
Based on a suggestion from another user, instead of limiting it to four entrants, the tournament will be divided into two groups of four, with each entrant in a single bracket facing off against all other entrants. At the end, the wrestlers from each bracket with the most points will face each other to determine the final winner. While this will make for more matches, each individual user will still only be responsible for three matches, save for the two finalists, who will be responsible for four. Everyone involved has assured me they are committing to making sure their threads get done.
At this point, though, the brackets are full, so I'm officially closing the tournament. Keep an eye out for the start of things come We Are LAW; more details will be revealed later!
