"...Oh shit..."
Backstage, the 18 year old rookie, Rai Kamiya, was reading the match sheet for that nights LAW matches, eager to see if he was on the card. He hadn't been in the league very long, and had a...very one sided record so far, having failed to win a single match, something that...was starting to bug the boy a bit. He knew he would have issues with the league, given that he had no wrestling training or experience before joining, thanks to his deadbeat fathers connections. That had gotten him into the Young Lions program, where he was still in-training, while his need for cash, (both for himself and to help pay his mothers bills), had pushed him into telling the league he'd accept any match they wanted to book him in. He knew, of course, this would mean he would have struggles winning...but his losses were starting to pile up faster than he had expected, and it was starting to bug him, as he'd hoped he'd have picked up this hentai-wrestling shtick faster than he had.
This would have made him nervous about his upcoming match as it was, given his track record, but as he saw on the paper posted backstage...it wasn't just a hentai match...but a 2/3 falls hentai match.
He'd never even one a single match yet...and now he'd have to do it TWICE to win this one.
...Crapbaskets.
Still...he had agreed, and he needed the cash, so there he was backstage, putting on his tight blue speedo, gloves, and elbow and knee pads, running a hand through his dyed and gelled hair, colored two different shades of blue, looking himself over in the mirror before hearing his music start playing over the PA system. He sighed deeply and looked at his reflection.
"...You can do this." He said to himself, pressing his fist against the glass to give himself a fist bump before heading out from the locker room to the entrance ramp. Moments later, he was out on the ramp, bare feet stepping into the cold steel as he looked out at the audience, offering them a friendly wave and smile as he made his way down to the ring. The crowd...was not as friendly. They didn't boo him, and a few even offered supportive cheers his way, but many were indifferent, seeing him as just a jobber coming out to get squashed, and some made a point of throwing taunting and teasing comments his way, which he tried to ignore.
Sliding under the ropes to get into the ring, Rai bounced on the balls of his heels before moving to his corner, doing some final stretches as he waited to see just who his opponent was, hoping it was someone at least close to his size, so that he had a real chance!
