The Harpy faces the Barbarian: Oscar Orelash VS. Ulla De Milo (D)

Unread post by MappleMan7 »

Standard match- victory declared via pinfall, submission, DQ or KO
Oscar hummed a tune to himself as he laced up his boots and prepped his torch. Tonight was another match here at LAW for the young lion. He felt like he was really getting the hang of things around the organization. Training hard, putting his all into every match, and doing his best to be the type of person to inspire those in the crowd. Thanks to what he learned from Tina Kelly, her friends, and many others he was making progress on that road. When given the signal to enter, Oscar would nod and sip his lantern fuel from his canteen before passing it off to a staff member and lighting up his torch.

Ladies and Gentlemen- representing the young lions of LAW, hailing from Canada and coming in at six foot five and two hundred and twenty-five pounds... give it up for 'The Barbarian Prince' Oscar Orelash!!

Right on cue, Oscar would walk onto the ramp and give the people a trick he never got tired of- pointing the torch and his head into the air and spraying the later oil from his lips towards the flames on the torch. The end product is a BIG fireball shooting into the air! Oscar would let out a well-projected and hearty laugh as the crowd roared at the display with Oscar passing the torch off to a stagehand and thanking them. He'd walk down the ramp as his music played along, reaching out to give as many high-fives to as many fans as possible before climbing into the ring and waiting in his corner. He had no idea who he was going to face, but it didn't really matter- he was going to give the best show he could!

Once Oscar’s entrance was wrapped up and fans restlessly waited for his opponent to come out. LAW fans caught wind about the promotional crossover deal that was struck with Leviathan yet they didn’t know exactly who was going to debut against the Barbarian. Some rumored names were thrown out, but none of them could be sincerely confirmed. As fans sat on the edge of their seats, they eagerly awaited to see the reveal of Oscar’s opponent. The stadium lights dimmed, fans quieted themselves, and all eyes were on the stage…
Spoiler
Ladies and Gentlemen- representing Leviathan, hailing from Brazil and coming in at five foot seven and weighing one hundred and fifty pounds… dance and cheer for ‘The Harpy’ Ulla de Melo!!!

Within the first few seconds of the entrance theme, LAW fans exploded into cheers, they knew EXACTLY who this opponent was even before the announcer gave out her name. Coming out to the center stage, Ulla de Melo made her grand debut in the new division in classic Ulla fashion. Moving and shaking her hips as if they were programmed to match the beat of her entrance theme, Ulla was dancing and smiling like it was nobody’s business! Hell, some fans in the audience were joining in on the dance party. Ulla was beloved in Leviathan and was ever much the definition of a crowd favorite within that league. Known for always trying to include the crowd in her matches in some way, Ulla would be bringing that same energy now to LAW! Although she didn’t keep the party on stage for long and went down the ramp to meet her endearing fans. High fiving, hugging, and of course, dancing with as many fans as she could, Ulla turned this whole stadium of spectators into a dance party, and everyone was invited!

Eventually, Ulla finished up her entrance theatrics in the ring. As her entrance music expired, with the crowd, they felt it wasn’t over! They began to chant the beat of Ulla’s theme song well after her entrance. This even made Ulla break from her dancing to thank the crowd for their hospitality by blowing kisses toward them and bowing to them. Ulla was more than flattered by this new league’s welcome, it made her feel like she was at home in Brazil. Ulla positioned herself in the corner of the ring and began to do her pre-match stretches. Although some may argue that Ulla got plenty of a warmup while dancing to the ring, that’s beside the point. The Brazilian-born wrestler was determined to put on a show and just show this new league how she puts on a show!

...Ok, so maybe it DID matter who he was facing tonight. Oscar blinked his eyes in surprise as he heard the entrance music play... that ever so familiar entrance music. Hearing the description of his opponent caused Oscar to stand upright in his corner of the ring. Then he heard the name flood into his ears... Ulla De Milo.

"Wh-what? WHAT!? ARE YOU SERIOUS!?"

Oscar sounded between a mix of surprise and excitement, his eyes practically bugged out of his head in shock and his jaw sort of hung open as he spotted Leviathan inc.'s rising star dance her way down the walkway like she always did, greeting fans and getting them to join in on the dance party she kicked off. Oscar stayed as still as a statue though despite the insanely catchy beat. Not because he was a party pooper or anything- but rather because of how utterly star-shocked he was and how lost in his memories he was getting.

The young lion thought back to when he first started to get into wrestling after his first show- back when he was still trying to learn the basic moves of the trade by watching videos and live matches both online and on T.V; and how almost all those shows he watched came from Leviathan inc. Two wrestlers from that organization stood out to him as his personal favorites- wrestlers that inspired him further to take the path he was currently on as a wrestler himself. Effie Rook was one and the other was none other than Ulla herself. It was something about how happy she was both with the crowds and just in general that drew him in as a fan. She just oozed confidence in her dances and her fights- something that he felt he lacked for the longest time before his training even began.

And now, here she was. Leviathan inc.'s star Harpy, a wrestler that inspired his whole career, standing just a few feet away from him at the other end of the ring doing some warmup stretches. Oscar couldn't help but be confused though... from the matches he saw Ulla in, he couldn't recall her ever fighting a heavyweight like him before. Heck- not even a male opponent before! Why him? Why was it booked so that Oscar, a young lion still in training, be set to face someone as skilled as Ulla? There were just too many questions the young man had and he was far too excited to dwell on them. This was made visible as Oscar was trembling from the excitement in his corner. The only thing Oscar was certain of is that this match could very well be one of the BIGGEST things to happen to him here- if he could manage to win the fight.

Knowing darn well he couldn't just stand there forever, Oscar took a very deep breath and slapped his cheeks a bit with his palms to try and calm down. After all, Ulla was still just a regular person dressed in a carnival costume. Wanting to make a good impression, Oscar would walk on over to Ulla and extend his hand for a handshake. The nerves might be noticeable in his voice as he spoke.

"U-um... hi. I'm Oscar but uh- you probably already heard that from my entrance"

He let out a bit of a nervous laugh and clear his throat, trying again

"Sorry. I gotta be honest here- I'm a REALLY big fan and I... wasn't expecting to face someone so well renowned tonight. It's a big honor"

Oscar would smile sincerely at Ulla as he did his best to introduce himself.

As the crowd was calming down from Ulla’s rave-like entrance, Ulla took this time to limber up and stretch, she noticed her opponent was approaching her. From what Ulla can observe in her foe, he was a massive man standing at…approximately six foot four- six foot five maybe? The wrestler had very red hair, although Ulla assumed it wasn’t natural, but still admired the color of it. On his face, Ulla noticed he had some sort of tribal war paint streaks on his face, probably to match his barbarian persona. From his head down, Ulla could see that her foe was fit and muscular- she knew she certainly has her work cut out for her.

Noticing as her opponent came closer, he appeared to look a little nervous and was trying to offer her a handshake. Not getting a threatening vibe from him, Ulla smiled and cupped his hand within both of hers. She eagerly shook it and greeted him back.

“Halo Osker” Ulla said with a smile.

“Aw a fen? The awenor es all meine!” Ulla said humbly. She has wrestled various likes of opponents in her career, but it was the first time she has fought a Heavy Weight who actually looked up to HER. Oscar couldn’t see it but she was humbly blushing underneath her mask.

“Les do our bes!” Ulla said as she shook Oscar’s hand once more.

Oscar blinked a bit as he heard Ulla's broken English. It took him a second to piece together what she was saying to him before responding with a nod of his head and a determined look on his face.

"Absolutely. You'll get my one hundred and ten percent out there and nothing less"

Oscar would return the handshake before walking back to his ring corner.

"Let's give the audience a show they'll talk about for weeks, yeah?"

With one last deep breath, Oscar would keep his guard up and keep his arms at his side defensively. He was waiting for the bell to ring and was trying to be ready for whatever Ulla could throw at him, figuring the high-flying harpy would be the one to make a quick first move.

Seeing her opponent match the same determination to give it their all in this fight, made Ulla perk up even more with an even bigger smile and made her bounce a bit on her feet. With Oscar’s last comment, Ulla replied with a confident thumbs up and a little wink.

Seeing that both fighters were in the respected corners, the ref went on his rounds to check if both competitors were ready for this match! Pointing to Ulla’s side to see if she was ready, Ulla responded by waving her arms up and down to signal she was ready to throw down and to of course bump up the crowd!

The ref turned all away around to Oscar’s corner, asking if the Barbarian was ready for this match. If Oscar was ready, the ref would signal for the bell and start up this matchup!

Oscar took one last deep breath before looking to the ref and giving a solid nod of his head. He was ready and as such, the bell would ring. The barbarian prince would start things off by getting out of his corner and making his way to the center of the ring with three mental notes in mind: First was the height difference. Although Ulla was able to defeat the bookworm, Alice Maiden, in a previous match he remembered Alice managed to keep Ulla at bay constantly with the extra height and length of her arms for the most part. Drawing inspiration from that, Oscar would tuck his arms close to him with the intent of springing out blows if Ulla got close. Two: Ulla was most likely much faster than Oscar and therefore, would be very difficult to get his hands on her unless he caught her in a slip-up or countered in some way so playing defensive was on his mind. And of course, Three: If Ulla got to any of the ropes and started her beloved flying moves, it's going to be VERY difficult to stop her. Focusing on Ulla's back and legs would be ideal to try and slow her down.

With all this in his mind, Oscar would set himself in the middle of the ring and steel his nerves. A friendly, yet competitive smile sat on his face as he practically dared Levithan's resident Harpy to make a move.

With the match in full swing, Ulla would see her obviously larger opponent go to the middle of the ring and station himself there. Practically her opponent was sending her a message that the ball was now in Ulla’s court in making a move. Showing absolutely no fear in her opponent’s bigger and much more beefed frame, Ulla would also walk up to the middle of the ring. Standing a few feet away from Oscar, fans held their breath to see what the two would do! Ulla didn’t downright attack but stared up at her opponent with a smile before looking to the sides of her toward the fans in attendance. Ulla would slowly raise her hand to the ceiling of the stadium with fans waiting for what she was bout to do. Suddenly Ulla brought her foot up and stomped twice on the ground before bringing her hand down and slapping her thigh. If you’re a fan of Ulla, you would know that she was preparing to call upon the bands!

Ulla would repeat this as it echoed throughout the arena with slowly more and more people joining along with the beat! Fans began to stamp their feet and clap their hands in unison with Ulla. Soon nearly the whole arena of fans was doing this beat to a point that Ulla ended up stopping doing the beat herself and just stared up at Oscar. With determined eyes and a permanent smile, Ulla practically challenged The Barbarian right back. Now it was his move, was this a trap, was this a challenge of some sort? It was up to Oscar to decide what he wanted to do.

Oscar would turn his head to look at the audience as Ulla stirred up the beat of a very familiar song before looking back at Ulla, unable to stop from smiling back. Felt like her smile was a contagious one. He'd take one more deep breath to focus back on things and weigh his options before speaking one last time.

"May the best wrestler win, Ulla"

Suddenly, Oscar would shoot his hands out and make an attempt to grab onto Ulla's arm and torso. Should he be successful, he'd attempt to Irish whip her towards the ropes with enough force to bounce back. Definitely not the best plan against an aerial fighter like Ulla- but it looked like Oscar knew that all too well. Should it all go to plan, Ulla would see Oscar extend his arms in preparation to defend against a possible hip attack or something of the like. A trap had been set!

“YES! LES!” Ulla said with a grin while she got into her fighting pose just waiting for her bigger opponent to make a move at her.

When it came to movement draw, Oscar would be the one first to spring and capture Ulla’s arm and torso within his grasp! The barbarian would also be successful in Irish Whipping his smaller foe towards the ropes! Albeit, if Oscar noticed, it would seem Ulla didn’t attempt to move or escape away from his try at snatching her up. Whatever the case was, the Brazilian Harpy was flying towards the ropes at a scary rate. But to Oscar and the fan’s surprise, Ulla would put her arms out to grasp both the middle and top rope before flinging her body through the two. It looked as if she was going to a Tiger Feint Kick on an invisible opponent! In an impressive showing of athleticism, Ulla somehow managed to transfer all of that force and energy into now standing on the ropes. This earned Ulla a massive pop in cheers by fans as she began waving to them. Yet her back was towards Oscar- was this a trap or was this Ulla underestimating or mocking her opponent?!?

It would be up to the Barbarian to see what he wanted to do about this!
