The genius vs the Strangler! Naoto vs Imai

Naoto stood in the gorilla position waiting for her entrance to begin. It was time for her second match in LAW and this one was against Imai Cosmo, a Jiu-Jutsu master hailed as the King of Stranglers. From what Naoto could tell after looking into the mans background he was a pretty similar fighter to her, in that they were both quite technical fighters. This would be a pretty interesting fight for the blue haired girl. She took a deep breath to mentally prepare herself for the upcoming fight and calm herself, almost like medita-"Hey Naoto, you ready to kick this guy's ass?" said an interrupting voice, belonging to a tall blonde haired man who had the aura of a thug. Naoto grunted in annoyance at the interruption "Kanji-Kun, I'm trying to concentrate."

At that moment Naoto's entrance music would kick in, forcing her to make her appearance now. She strolled out onto the top of the ramp alongside Kanji and struck a pose alongside him. Tonight Naoto received a far less warm welcome than during her debut, probably because she came out alongside a delinquent rather than an idol. It didn't bother Naoto too much though, her thoughts instead drifted to her soon-to-be opponent Imai Cosmo. His ground game was extraordinary, probably better than Naoto's, and he wasn't too shabby on his feet either. Naoto would have to be on her best performance to beat him.

As Naoto reached the ring Kanji would lift up the rope to let her in, then he would walk around the outside of the ring and come to a stop by the corner that Naoto would rest against while waiting for Imai Cosmo to make his entrance. This wasn't a tag-team or handicap deal, Kanji was just there to cheer his friend on. Naoto kept a close eye on the top of the ramp, wanting to get a good look at Cosmo as soon as he arrived.

Imai bounced up and down as he waited for his signal for his entrance to the ring along with some light stretching, taking a breath as he thought on things. After the previous Kengan tournament the King of Stranglers had decided to expand his horizons a bit, to learn more to improve himself, motivated by having lost in the third round of that tournament. At the suggestion of fellow Kengan fighter, "Hell's Angel" Jun Sekibayashi, he decided to try his luck in a new kind of arena, the arena of professional wrestling and this promotion, LAW, had accepted his application, he heard of excited whispers from some of the management over drawing a name from a famous underground fighting organization but he wasn't too bothered by it. He grinned as he thought back to his upcoming opponent, one Naoto Shirogane, from what he heard she was a technical kind of wrestler, something he found common ground with and he could already feel excited. "You ready Cos? Remember this place has different rules than the Kengan matches." came the voice of his backer, Nishihonji Akira, with Imai giving a grin back. "No worries bro, Seki gave me a rundown of the basic rules. I'm ready to show what I can do in a new kind of venue." he replied as he slammed his fist into his palm, Akira giving a nod as soon enough the signal came up and, after a final handshake with his manager, he headed to the ramp.

A large portion of the crowd erupted into cheers, clearly fans of Imai from the Kengan Association who had migrated to attend his debut match in the world of wrestling. He grinned as he pumped a fist up as his blue eyes looked to the ring and his opponent. As he arrived at the ring he stepped under the top rope as he looked to Naoto, smiling a bit as he stepped forward. "Hey there, pleased to meet you, Shirogane. Looking forward to a great match." He greeted as he extended a hand to the blue haired woman, he felt it only appropriate to show respect since, while they seemed about the same age, she was his senior in terms of wrestling. Plus this kind of greeting wasn't something he got to do often if at all back in his matches with the Kengan Association and he couldn't help himself.

Naoto watched Imai closely as he made his entrance to much fanfare. It seemed like he was quite popular, much more so than Naoto was. As Imai entered the ring Naoto would look him up and down, he had quite a fit body. When Imai stepped forward Naoto took a step back instinctively, but it seemed like he was only extending a friendly greeting "I am too. Please, call me Naoto." she said, smiling politely as she shook his hand in return "No hard feelings no matter who wins, alright?" she suggested with a smile. Upon seeing this exchange from ringside Kanji grumbled to himself a little bit, but Naoto didn't notice.

After a little bit the match would get off to a start. Naoto looked to start things off simply by slowly approaching Imai and looking to initiate a standard lock up.

Imai grinned as Naoto accepted his handshake, giving a nod at her words, "Of course, as far as I'm concerned what happens in a match stays in the match. After that it's water under the bridge. So let's both do our best so we won't leave here with any regrets Naoto." he replied as they shook hands before stepping back to wait for the bell to ring to start the match. Looking back to Naoto as the match began though he kept up a grin his expression was now more focused, he was ready to give an excellent match. As Naoto moved, motioning to initiate a lock up he gave a nod moving to meet her in the middle of the ring and when they were close enough he moved, interlocking his fingers with hers to begin the lock up and test his strength against his blue haired opponent.

As the match began Naoto and Imai approached each other and locked up. It seemed that Imai intended to test his strength against Naoto, but the blue haired tactician had no desire to engage in such a test. She had no delusions of being able to out-muscle Imai, and was not willing to engage in such a contest just for the sake of pride. So when they locked up instead of pushing back against him Naoto would instead wrench to the side, hoping to make him lose balance and give her a chance to wrap her arms around his neck, squeezing his head in a side headlock.

Imai blinked in surprise as Naoto wrenched to the side, though he should have figured his opponent wouldn't have wanted a test of strength. He had forgotten that this was a rare instance where he was the physically superior one between himself and his opponent. As Naoto aimed to try and upset his balance he would plant his feet as firmly as he could while making a move to try and move an arm around her waist. If this worked he would then aim to move one leg to try and sweep her feet out from under her to go for a hip toss, aiming to take things to the mat. If his attempts to counter failed he would grunt a bit in the headlock before aiming to wrap an arm around her and attempt a backdrop.

As Naoto tried to force Imai into a headlock her technician opponent managed to prevent himself from being taken off balance by maintaining a firm stance, he would then wrap an arm around her waist and attempt to sweep her feet. Naoto grunted as she was swept off her feet and was tossed down onto the mat, impacting the canvas back first "Ngh" Though her initial manoeuvre was countered Naoto wasn't going to meekly accept whatever Imai intended to do next. Instead she would buck her body off the mat and throw up a kick aimed at the blonde, hoping to take him off guard and prevent him from following up on his hip toss.

Imai grinned a bit as he managed to pull off the hip toss with little difficulty though he was aware that the other was certainly not going to just lie and take any further offense from him, not when this early on. This was confirmed when the blue haired woman aimed a kick up at him, something the blond moved back from, bouncing lightly on his feet as he soon raised his fists up. He eyed Naoto, waiting for her to recover as he considered what his next option would be, having been the smaller fighter for most of his time in the Kengan matches he knew that he couldn't afford to underestimate Naoto just because he had the size advantage here. Despite that he couldn't help the small grin that was forming, this was going to be a good debut match for him, he could feel it.
