Breaking the Ice: Finlay Zeffer vs Weiss Schnee

Unread post by Bare »

No Disqualification Match: Winer to be declared by pinfall, submission or knockout, no means can disqualify either participant

Finlay grunted as he stretched his arm behind his back, preparing for his next match. This time he was set to go against a woman by the name of Weiss Schnee. Without many matches to her name yet it was hard to put together a solid idea of what she was like but she was definitely a smaller opponent with more speed focused style, at least based on what he was able to gather. Not only that but she would likely be.. on guard going off how her last male opponent treated her. A scumbag by the name of Zane something or other. Finlay didn't care for him, but Weiss had taught him a serious lesson in their match, now she would likely be extra on guard against him.

Regardless however Finlay wouldn't let it stop him. He wasn't the type of guy that Zane was and he wouldn't allow his own lust to take over his chances of winning. So without waiting he would stand up and head to the entrance ramp, getting a nod from the ring crew to head out as his entrance theme played through the speakers of the arena.
Spoiler
Getting a positive reception of cheers and whoops from the fans Finlay would look out stoically, but nod in appreciation towards them before walking down the ramp, hopping up onto the ring apron before jumping over the ropes in a single leap and into the ring itself. Turning and running to jump onto the corner he would pose and look out among the crowd, simultaneously giving a good view of his ring gear before hopping down and turning towards the entrance ramp, looking up in ready determination for his opponent once she would come down.

Weiss was finishing the stretches she does before her entrance. Sighing as she lowered herself into a split and focused on holding the position. Her next match today was against Finlay Zeffer. Weiss apparently being the only one who does her homework. Without going in-depth into Finlay’s history, Weiss was able to gather that Finlay was someone with a balanced build. Yet was also someone that was not exactly insistent on showing his strength. Rather that he’d rather lean on his agility. Remind Weiss of some irritating redhead she knows. Though with enough matches against her, Weiss was more or less familiar on how to combat Finlay’s type.

Weiss’s last match was less than ideal. Reaching levels of embarrassment she would rather never repeat again. Yet at the same time it was those embarrassing moments, that somehow led to Weiss’s victory. Seeing as how her previous opponent would just capitalize in non-optimal ways. But that was enough of strategizing. Weiss was informed that it was her time to enter the ring. Fixing herself up, Weiss would stand up and adjust her attire one final time before heading to the entrance ramp. Weiss wasn’t like her previous friends, she didn’t exactly have the energy that they did.
Spoiler

Once her entrance music began to play, Weiss left backstage to make her presence known. Weiss would get a positive reaction out of the audience. There didn’t seem to be one person that booed her. Which to Weiss was a rarity, but something she could get used to in all honesty. Ironically just like Finlay, Weiss stoically walked down the ramp. Letting her fans cheer be all the words she needed. Once reaching the ring, Weiss took the steps up and waited for the officials to spread the ropes for her. Taking a step in once they did so, Weiss gave a slight show to the audience. Giving them kind but telling smile and wave. Now shifting her gaze to Finlay, Weiss gave him a semi disappointed look. Hmph, hopefully this time my opponent will remember where they are Weiss said obviously poking fun at Zane and his antics. Lets just get this over with, I can’t say my expectations are very high right now Weiss said as she flipped her hair, now waiting for the bell to ring.

Finlay would roll his neck in preparation as he heard Weiss's music play and got himself ready. Naturally she got a good reception and seeing her in person he could believe a lot of what had been said about her being pretty icey and cold. Then again he wasn't one to talk at all with his own stoic disposition so that wouldn't bother him much. If anything he just hoped this meant they could get through this match seriously without any.. distractions. As she entered the ring however he could practically feel the distaste she had. One that likely had been left by that Zane idiot. Rolling his eyes at her words he decided he wouldn't allow her to get off with it without any response back. "Quite frankly I could care less about what you're expectations are or what you think of male wrestlers after that last dumbass you fought, all I care about is winning. So yes. Let's get this over with." He said bluntly that would have matched Weiss's if not for lacking undertones of disappointment and distaste.

Weiss didn’t have any strong feelings towards Finlay. It was just another match for Weiss. Sure Finlay looked intense but Weiss had already written him off. Seeing as how her previous opponent was nothing special. Was it fair that Finlay was catching strays left by Zane? No but Weiss was always one to hold a grudge. Making it well known that she had no expectations for Finlay. The blonde man would shoot back proclaiming his only care being winning. Weiss raised an eyebrow to this, seeing Finlay already giving off a different energy compared to her last opponent. Well you certainly talk like you mean business. For your sake you better mean it Weiss shot back at Finlay. Not content with giving him the final word. Afterwards the bell would ring, and with that Weiss would drop the cold pretense. Now shifting to a careful grappling stance, she opted to wait and see what Finlay had in store for a beginning. Seeing as how her last match, Weiss acting first backfired on her.

Finlay was well aware of how other men could act in intergender matches with females, and by proxy was absolutely used to having to deal with that stigma being posted onto himself. However that wasn't something he would just take laying down. Simply put he wasn't like that, the things that mattered most to him were competing and winning above all else when it came to wrestling so that's what he would come to do. If Weiss wanted to underestimate hm as a result than so be it, he could deal with it. With the heiress shooting back at what he said the Kiwi was tempted to shoot back himself, but he was fairly confident she just wanted the last word, in which case so be it, he would let his actions speak louder for him. Once the bell ring he would circle the white haired girl for a moment, eyeing her up before stepping closer, aiming to lock up with her in a collar elbow tie up before attempting to push her back into the corner!

Weiss already had her feelings on intergender matches. Sure there were exceptions of some upstanding individuals. That said, Weiss hasn’t found said individuals. So of course she would go off based on her previous experiences. Still the fact remained that Weiss was going to win this match. Finlay didn’t have much else to say to Weiss. Without going on too much of a tangent, Weiss was content with being the last word. Now all that was left was to compete against Finlay Zeffer.

The bell ringing shortly after signaled the start of the match. Weiss and Finlay circled each other, both trying to gauge each other. Not quite sure where to find an opening. Finlay would break this deadlock and step forward. Weiss meeting the man in the middle in a collar elbow tie up. A valorant show to start things off, admittedly it showed Weiss’s hubris. It didn’t take a genius to figure out who was stronger. So as much as Weiss fought back. Finlay would win out when it came to power and pushed Weiss back into the corner. NGH Weiss grunted out as she was essentially smothered between the corner and Finlay.

Finlay only briefly knew of Weiss's past mixed match and knew it wasn't pleasant, unfortunately for her though he didn't particularly care. Whether she had good opinion of him or not didn't matter to him. Instead he would simply choose to focus on winning this match at all costs. Locking up with the girl Finlay was surprised she went for this contest of strength, and he would admit it was gutsy, but not well advised.

Easily overpowering the smaller woman Finlay would force the white haired girl against the corner, the ref coming to try and get Finlay off, but he was already stepping back... Just so that he could lower himself and quick as a whip throw himself forward towards Weiss's midsection with a shoulder thrust to the ribs! If the move hit it wouldn't be solitary. Instead Finlay would aim to hold onto the middle ropes behind Weiss, pulling back before throwing himself forward for another shoulder thrust, then another, and another, and another trying to get five consecutive shoulder thrusts into the girl's stomach!

Weiss would never admit it herself, but she was always someone who tends to bite off more than she can chew. Arrogance and Confidence are not the same but they are related, and often confused for each other. Weiss was always going to stand her ground. In a effort to seem courageous and even gutsy, Weiss would take the risk to meet Finlay in one of her weaker areas. That being strength.

Getting easily overpowered by Finlay, Weiss was forced into the corner to start the match. The referee would come by, looking to keep the match clean. Thankfully Finlay listened to the referee’s orders, yet it was not out of the kindness out of his heart. Lowering his position and basically tackling Weiss into the corner. OMPH Weiss grunts from the first shoulder thrust. With her body being pressed into the corner even further. That wasn’t all though, Finlay would plant his position. All this to ensure that he can follow up with multiple shoulder thrusts.

Weiss let out pained grunts for each shoulder thrust hitting their marks. Each time Weiss would get shoved more and more into the corner. After the fifth shoulder thrust, Weiss was left sitting on the middle turnbuckle with her legs resting on the ropes. Weiss herself holding on to the ropes to make sure she stays somewhat upright.

Taking advantage of Weiss's rather fool hardy decision to meet him in a contest of strength Finlay would manage to force the girl back into the corner, leaving her defenseless to a series of shoulder thrust into her midsection.

Standing up after wrapping up the onslaught Finlay took a moment to inspect his work and nodded to himself, knowing just how he could take advantage of the white haired girl's position suspended on the ropes. Turning and breaking into a run to the other side of the ring Finlay would stop at the corner opposite to Weiss before sprinting right back in her direction!

Beelining towards the lightweight Finlay would leap up as he approached her! Bringing his knees up just before he made contact with her Finlay would bring his arms up to grab at her shoulders as he did so. If successful he would let gravity do its job, pulling him back towards the mat with Weiss in two, aiming to hit her with a corner hung lung blower to her chest to keep the wind knocked out of her!

Weiss was a smart wrestler, rarely does she make mistakes when it comes to her moves and tactics. Yet Weiss is still a human with emotions and is prone to having them control her. A mistake that she would be suffering from promptly. Finlay delivers a series of shoulder thrusts, leaving Weiss suspended on the ropes.

With little delay, Finlay moved onto Weiss with incredible speed. In her current position Weiss could do very little. Literally and metaphorically a sitting duck. Finlay would tuck in his knees and have them on Weiss’s chest. Bringing himself back along with gravity. Finlay would land a textbook corner hung lung blower!

AGH! The move landed cleanly and painfully, Weiss would add. Weiss from her corner position exploded and plopped down at Finlay’s side. Struggling to catch her breath, Weiss would use this chance to roll out of the ring and use this as a moment to recover. Hopefully this break at the start of the match would be what she needs to get going.
