Fortunately for Blaise, he doesn't have very long to contemplate the life choices that lead him to this place. He only has enough time to think, primarily, ow my face, and hope he doesn't wind up with an anaphylaxis-sized swollen jaw from that kick. That would be most unbecoming. Most unbecoming indeed.

He was braced for Aaliyah to immediately dive over him for the cover. A part of him was curious to see how she'd go for it; what her 'pin style' might be, whether or not it's tailored for him. But when she doesn't, he starts to collect himself and prop up on his elbows. Only that is when her toned body comes crashing down over him, her torso landing squarely across his pectorals.

"Ungh!"

He's borne back down against the mat, now beneath the spry female crossways!

God, it felt good to cut loose. Aaliyah hadn't gotten down like this in a good while, too long, and she loved the sensation of the wind between her locks, the impact of her shoes on the canvas, and the wild cheers of the crowd. It was the best feeling she could ask for, the untameable adrenaline from wrestling, and she was just getting started.

She came crashing down on Blaise’s body and nailed him, flattening him, dead-center of the ring. She doubted a win was in the cards this early on, but she was in a position for it, no harm in trying.

Aaliyah grabbed his leg, pulled it up, leaned on his chest and went for the pinfall, with the referee sliding over to start it up in short order.

”1…!”

Blaise lie breathlessly beneath the girl in a daze, arms splayed out to either side, one knee shifting. He manages a quiet groan of protest, loud only enough for Aaliyah to hear amidst the crowd's praise. He's certainly not out yet, but he can't fault her for lingering. He even expects her to stay over him long enough for a pin. He would've done the exact same thing. Pinning's the whole point of the game, after all! And when you're feeling it, you're feeling it.

She hooks his shifting leg, confirming for him that she is, in fact, going for the cover. As she presses down against his chest, his hands lift, setting one to her shoulder, the other to her waist. The referee drops beside the pair, hand raised at the ready to strike the mat. He could probably throw her off right now, but - admittedly, what's the harm? He does kinda like this girl. And this feels more in line when wrestling was focused on being fun. A couple counts to let her live in the moment is good! It lets him have a chance to try to catch his breath after that splash.

"One...!"

He figures she probably knows he's about to throw her off. It's why his hands are resting on her, at the ready. But maybe she'll get it. Maybe they'll be on the same wavelength there.

"Two!"

And finally, Blaise erupts with force. His hips buck to kick his leg free of her grip, while his hands push simultaneously against her shoulder and waist to shove her off to the side!

"Two-count! No fall!," announces the referee, holding up the deuces.

Ooo, two-count. Way better than she’d expected, honestly. Must have nailed that last one way better than even she’d expected.

That thought gave her a quick hit of satisfaction as she was flung away, enough that she didn’t hesitate to return to the offensive a moment later. Before he could rise, she shot her legs out, wrapped them around his head, and pulled him into a side headscissor, using her body to anchor him while she put the pressure on his throat.

”Nuh-uh, going nowhere, handsome.” She winked and folded her arms, looking snug and smug. ”You look better on your back.”

Blaise would certainly not say anything to rain on her parade! Not that he's thinking about that right now. No, what occupies his mind is how he's going to regain the upper-hand and take the reigns of this match. But to his surprise, she isn't grabbing for him to get the match going again - he was ready to start elbowing her midsection there. He had that planned out. But she had to go and be weird about it again, using her legs.

"Erk-!"

It's about as eloquent as Blaise is going to get while she has thighs hooking his neck. His hands immediately seize upon her legs, reactively attempting to pull them looser. All the while, his mind teems with clever little quips he would totally have in response to her remark, if he could just articulate right now, trust me, bro. But as he struggles with her, he twists on the mat, attempting to adjust more onto his side to begin tucking a knee in close. Blaise always had a tech-savvy mind; he just never really utilized it. But now, as the Phoenix, that barrier has been broken down. He's coming up with a more defensive countermeasure. He just needs a moment to set it up, while shooting awkward eye contact across Aaliyah's figure.

Little unorthodox? Yeah. But hey - it worked, didn’t it?

Aaliyah wasn’t one of those types that got into the whole kinky thing, staunchly trying to avoid it in her career so far. But she could have a little fun every now and then, and though there was no way to tell with her baggy pants, she did have a pair of legs to be proud of. She mostly used them to help her jump around and kick, but they had other purposes, as Blaise would no doubt corroborate.

You know…if he could speak. ”Having a little trouble thinking?” She canted her head to the side with a quirked eyebrow, as he continued to fruitlessly struggle about. ”Here, lemme help you with that.”

Step One: She used his struggles against him, loosening up her hold just enough to let him spin about and turned away from her so he was facing towards her feet before she relocked the hold.

Step Two: She rolled over, putting them both face down on the mat.

Step Three: She planted her hands on the mat, lifted her hips, and proceeded to ram Blaise’s face into the mat, driving him hard with three consecutive thrusts, giving the crowd a fine show in the process.

It was fun to be naughty, sometimes.

That was assuredly not the plan the technically-savvy Blaise Cameron had in mind. The full intention wasn't to turn away from her - quite the opposite. But thanks to some creative squirming, they wind up in the favorable position for Aaliyah and her cheeky assault. Blaise's arms wrap around her leg, mind still working to assess the situation and find leverage. But before that can come about, his face is hammered into the mat repeatedly, much to the audience's amusement and Blaise's frustration. The impacts are disorienting, but not so much damaging.

And while she's enjoying the moment, Blaise's knees tuck beneath himself again. Arms gather around her legs, not to shoo them away, but keep them in place. And suddenly, he pushes off with his feet, lunging forward into her legs to curl her inwards. Those balancing arms are his targets, seizing for the wrists to sharply pull in towards him. And should he succeed, Aaliyah may find herself curled inwards, her shoulders against the mat with Blaise suddenly perched in the dominant position, bearing down on her legs in a matchbook pin position.

Granted, likely with his head still between her legs, bringing the two closer to face-to-face. But it'd be a pinning predicament all the same; break the pin and lose the hold, or keep the hold and suffer the first fall!

Aaliyah was always proud of what her hips could do, and was more than happy to show off just how useful they could be in a match. This move wasn’t just good for messing up Blaise’s equilibrium, but it appealed to the crowd, too, helped in getting them on her side, and she was a woman who thrived when the cheers were at their loudest. In a long-term match like this, a little fanfare could go a long way in lifting the spirits.

She didn’t plan on holding it too long, anyway. In fact, she was about to drop the move altogether when Blaise had a surge of movement, rising up before she could disengage. She was going forward, she was getting curled up, her shoulders were on the ground…

A pin. Damn. Clever girl.

”1…!”

Aaliyah kicked out before the second count, flopping forward as she freed herself from the hold. Instead of turning back to meet him, however, she pushed up to her feet and rushed forward, hitting the ropes with all the speed she could muster from her short sprint. She bounced off, hurtled back towards him, leaped up and shot her legs out, trying to hit him with a running dropkick before he could get all the way up.

A small moral victory, that pin! And as Blaise held Aaliyah's wrists, the feel of her hips and thighs against his neck were suddenly more welcomed. Funny how things can go from a problem to a benefit so quickly! But the moral victory wasn't just in the context of the battle against her; it was just as much for himself and the audience, a reassurance that he's still in this. He didn't go through so much extra hard work and sacrifice just to come back a floppy fish!

But also, yeah, it's pretty satisfying turning a cheeky moment into a reality check. He always used to be on the receiving end of those. And now, at long last, he's on the delivering end. He gets to be professional wrestling UPS!

The referee only gets to a one-count, but that's about as far as Blaise expected Aaliyah would be held down for. All things considered, the pin was very leg-focused. And her legs certainly seemed to be her strongest asset. And when she bucks free, Blaise is at the ready to get up, recollect himself, catch a breath, and-

Feet suddenly thump into his chest. He hits the mat hard, tilting briefly onto his shoulders before his body comes to rest flat on the mat in a daze, open to her with arms splayed to either side.

First pin went to Blaise. A little bit annoying. Just a little.

While she wasn’t as bad as Yo-Yo, they were the same blood, and every once in a while she gave into some of her worst traits. She didn’t dress like she did, act like she did, fight like she did because she didn’t want to be seen, after all, so some showmanship suited her. But it could bite her in the butt now and then, and this was one of those times.

No big deal, no big deal, it wasn’t as if she’d lost the round or anything. She was up quick, moved in fast, and nailed him with the dropkick, planting him flat on the mat. Control restored.

”Phew!” She was only on her back for a second before she threw her legs up and rose with a swift kip up. She looked down on him with a smirk, then reached over to grab him by the wrist. ”Nice try, slick.”

Aaliyah pulled Blaise up to his feet, tugging hard to make him rise, then pulled his arms through and sent him running off to the far corner with a strong Irish Whip. She came chasing after him a second after letting him go, staying in his shadow, so when he turned around and hit the pads, she’d have a surprise waiting for him - a flying knee aimed right at his face.
