Crimson Legacy vs. Bambi and Thumper - Odd Man Out

Got him.

Arthur didn’t know exactly what Alex would do when he moved away, but he figured the setup was good enough for her to work with. They’d been working together long enough that he had a good sense for what she could and couldn't take, how long she would need to recover in any given situation, and he felt that one was timed out just right.

With Kyo being floored, Arthur looked on with folded arms and his best shit-eating grin, trying not to look as satisfied as he felt. Alex was already moving on, grabbing him by the hair and forcing him to stand as the referee poked her head under the ropes to chastise them, but he had to get a few words in.

”Eyes on the prize, boyo.” He leaned in. ”Didn’t your old man teach you to focus?”

Alex wouldn’t give him the chance to reply, even if he wanted - in the next moment, she spun about and sent him rolling into the ring, then hopped up on the apron and promptly followed after him.

Kyo was wheezing now. That forearm, he noted, had done just enough to knock the air out of his lungs. That, of course, was a bad thing: though a lot of people didn't realize it, being able to regulate one's breathing was one of many keys to fighting effectively, even outside of just potentially being knocked out by things like sleeper holds. He focused and regulated his breathing, but by that point Alex was already yanking him by the hair. He winced as he was yanked up to his feet...at which point the man said something absolutely snide...

...about his dad? Wait a damned minute, just who the hell was this guy?

He was still wondering that as Alex sent him rolling into the ring. Grimacing, he began to push himself to his hands and knees, slowly recovering his strength...and biding his time for whatever came next...

In you go.

Alex tossed Kyo back into the ring, just as the referee was starting to get dangerously high on the count, ending their little escapade on the outside of the ring. She threw a quick glance Arthur’s way, and saw him looking ridiculously pleased for a man whose sole accomplishment in the past five minutes was standing in the right place at the right time. Typical.

Back inside. She slipped under the ropes and came after Kyo, grabbing him by the arm while he tried to rise. She was about to continue her assault when she heard a quick whistle coming from her side and looked up to see Betty waving her way. ”Over here, let me get a little piece!”

”Coming right up.” She gripped Kyo by the wrist, pulled him through, and tried to Irish Whip him towards their corner, pushing against his back as she went for some added effort. The moment he hit the pads in their corner, Betty would be waiting to greet him, grabbing the ropes and swinging her leg up to try and hit him in the head with an enziguiri.

As Kyo began to push himself upright, two things became apparent to him. The first was that Alex was relentless, yanking him upright to punish him a little further. So far, Alex was proving to be an absolutely deadly fighter, keeping him very much on the defensive while hammering him brutally. The second thing that became apparent to him was that Betty was shouting in the background, urging Alex to tag her in.

Well, he thought, no time like the present.

As Alex moved to whip him towards the corner, he suddenly planted his feet, and swung back. If all went according to plan, he would counter Alex's swing, and send the tall blonde tumbling into the corner in Kyo's place. He wouldn't let up: from there he would burst into a running leap, trying to hit both Alex and Betty with a drop kick while they were close together!

Betty and Alex had done this sort of spot a thousand times, had the timing down by heart. Alex would whip their opponent to the ropes, Betty would nail them with an enziguiri from the outside, they’d tag out, then Alex would hold them in place with a headscissor from the top turnbuckle while Betty hit them a dropkick to the chest. Classic stuff.

It was so reflexive for them, in fact, that when Kyo reversed Alex’s Irish Whip, Betty leaped up and almost hit her own tag partner with the kick. She managed to abort at the last second, but it left her awkwardly hanging on the ropes, dangling for a crucial second.

And that was all Kyo needed. He rushed in, leaped up, and hit them both with his dropkick, sending Betty bouncing off the apron and to the floor while Alex rocked off the pads and fell to her knees, a nasty spill for both of them.

The crowd roars.

Up until this point, Kyo had been taking a hellacious beating from Alex, who, through a combination of sheer power and some underhanded help from Arthur, had been battering Kyo from pillar to post. And it had looked like Kyo was about to be in even worse shape as Alex steered him into an obvious double team attack from her and Betsy.

Instead, Kyo had demonstrated the ring smarts that he was known for, and nailed both of his opponents with a brutal double drop kick!

Dropping onto his back, Kyo took a few seconds to catch his breath. Just a few: he knew that blow wouldn't keep Alex down for long. Betsy, at least, was out of the picture for now, but he had to keep moving if he didn't want her surging back into the fight. More to the point, he couldn't ignore the beating he had just taken: he needed valuable time to recuperate.

Rolling back up to his feet, he wearily made his way over to Alex and grabbed her by the head, pulling her up to her feet. Breathing hard, he made sure Alex was doing the same by shooting a knee up into her midsection to double her over, slinding an arm around her head, grinding her face tightly against his abs in a frontal facelock. Slowly, he would step backwards, pulling her towards the center of the ring, before pressing one palm up against her midsection, and, with a grunt of exertion, lifting her upside down, tilting her as though preparing to power bomb her into the mat.

Makie, however, recognized what Kyo was planning, and was already climbing up the turnbuckle. Even as Kyo huffed from the effort of holding Alex off the mat, Makie would spring forwards, grabbing at Alex's legs; all three of them would then come crashing down to the mat as the Crimson Legacy tried to smash Alex down with an elevated facebuster!

Betty was, by most definitions, a skinny kid, with her butt being the only part of her that really seemed to retain fat. Most of the time, that was a positive. Made her an excellent dancer, great at the high-flying stuff, fast as hell. But there was a big downside: she had no padding. When she hit stuff, it went right to the bone.

So, when she fell off onto the apron and hit her tailbone on the way down, it sucked. She rolled off and flopped to the floor, landing on her chest to injury and insult to injury. It left her stinging all over, and she was just pushing herself up when Arthur strolled around the corner, moving fast but not-too-fast so she wouldn’t think he was actually worried about her. Heaven forbid.

”Having a spot of trouble, love.” Arthur extended his hand to help her up, which she gladly took, not wanting to waste any more energy than she had to.

”A spot.” She dusted herself off and turned towards the ring. ”How is Alex-”

Her question was answered before she could finish, as she looked into the ring just in time to see Alex brought down hard with a double-team move, her face rammed into the canvas with resounding force. It left her lying, arms spread and hair splayed, unmoving on the canvas for a few scary seconds before she started to stir. Not a good sign.

”Damnitdamnitdamnit.” Betty scrambled back up onto the apron and took her place in the corner, hopping on her toes as she looked for an opportunity to slip in and give her partner and ‘partner’ some relief.

The crowd let out a collective ooooo as the three wrestlers crashed to the mat, with Alex taking the brunt of the impact after being assisted along the way by the Akamatsu siblings. The combined impact seemed to take the wind out of Alex's sails pretty effectively, as the blonde was now lying facedown on the mat, utterly stunned after such a dominant showing against Kyo.

Speaking of whom...Kyo wasted no time in slapping Makie's hand, finalizing the tag. "Over to you," he breathed, before rolling out of the ring to catch some much needed recovery time. Makie didn't need to be told twice. She rolled Alex over onto her back, before sitting on the taller girl's chest (giving her a nice view of her rear in the process) before hooking one of the blonde's legs and leaning back for a taunting pinfall.

In an instant, the ref was next to them. "ONE..."

”Fuck.”

That one went off the rails quickly, didn't it? Alex felt like she’d had a good handle on Kyo, was getting the better of things more often than not, but that was the danger with someone on his level - all he needed was a moment, a second of opportunity, and he could run away with things in an instant. She would be impressed if she weren’t on the receiving, but all it did now was foster her simmering rage.

Having Makie sit on her chest didn’t help, though she found herself enjoying the view. She couldn't blame the woman for trying, but if she thought that was enough to put her down, well…

”2…!”

No sooner had the second count rang out then Alex sprang into action, pushing hard on Makie’s hips and making her slid down her body. At the same time, she sat up, wrapped her arms around the smaller woman’s neck, brought her legs around her waist, and tried to pull her into a rear naked choke, aiming to put her to sleep right in the middle of the ring.

If someone were to ask Makie, in that moment, if her actions were deliberate, she would have answered that of course they were. Unlike Kyo, she didn't consider herself a prude, nor was she shy about admitting if she found some of her opponents attractive (unlike Kyo, who had had to have three consecutive matches with Valerie just to admit that he liked her). But Betsy's open flirtation with her at the start of the match had encouraged her to respond in kind...so it was partially as a taunt, and partially as teasing that she was giving Alex a good view of her posterior.

Unfortunately, Alex didn't sit for the view for long.

"What the--" she gasped, before Alex surged up from under her, wrapping her arms around her throat. She gasped, and pawed at them, only to find her foe's latex clad legs locking around her waist. Before she knew it, she was being locked up in a tight sleeper/scissor hold combo, her air shut off even as her torso was crushed. She rasped, and then her training kicked in-- the training that told her not to panic in a situation like this. Clenching her teeth from the sheer, crushing pressure of the sleeper, she tried to rotate her legs left and right, hoping to roll the two of them so that she could snag the ropes-- not an easy task against a larger, heavier opponent..
