A Matter of Honour: Homura Kōgetsu vs Kyo Akamatsu

Post by Underdoggo »

Continued from here

Match Type: Standard prostyle
Victory conditions: Victory by 3-count pinfall, submission or K.O.

In the locker room, Kyo took a deep breath as he finished his stretches. He had been intense matches before, against opponents he knew would be hard to defeat; the Iron person bout against Valerie immediately came to mind. But this was the first time in a long time he was facing off against someone who actively had it out for him, and made no secret that she wanted to destroy him in the ring.

Homura Kōgetsu. He had managed to look her up in the LAW database after their first encounter. Apparently, she was a well-trained pro wrestler known for being skilled, versatile and adaptable. From what the database had to go on, she was a legacy wrestler herself, whose father had once been a pro wrestler as well. And apparently, she was known, in the ring, for having a calm, almost stoic demeanour. In all of these respects, she and Kyo were very much alike.

Where they differed was that, for whatever reason, Homura seemed to have it out for other legacy wrestlers: she had already had one brutal match against Belinda Northman. And now she seemed to be gunning for the Akamatsus-- and specifically Kyo-- next.

The injuries from that day in the dojo had more or less healed by this point. Homura hadn't been out to cripple Kyo, but to send him a message. And that message had very clearly been received: I intend to destroy you.

He took a deep breath, and steadied his thoughts. Homura had a vindictive, cruel streak to her that he had to be ready for. He had no doubt that she would be as heelish in the ring today as she had been in the dojo. He could not abide insults to his family, or to himself; he could abide heels less. He would be ready for Homura today, he told himself. He would win.

His phone, currently sitting on the shelf of his locker, buzzed at that point, showing a single message from Makie:
I'll be in the stands today.
Kick her ass bro. I want to bring some good news to Belinda.
Kyo smiled. Makie had been hurriedly trying to improve her skills for a chance at a rematch with Belinda Northman. Along the way, she and the Swede had ended up becoming friends. When Makie had found out Homura had attacked Kyo, she had flown into a rage, and had been on the verge of rushing off to attack Homura herself, eager to get back at the woman who had hurt her brother and her friend. It had taken a lot of effort on Kyo's part to get Makie to calm down; even so, it was comforting to know his sister would be cheering him on today.

At that point, he heard his theme song start to play. With a final, exhaled breath, he exited the locker room and strode into the arena.

Striding down the ramp, Kyo was met by a chorus of cheers from his fans. As usual, he didn little to acknowledge them, appearing focused more than anything on the ring. The fans noted that Kyo even seemed a little more serious than usual this time around, and they would have been right: as much as he was staying calm, inwardly, he still felt angry about the incident. Angry about being attacked. Angry about being insulted. Tonight, he thought, he would teach Homura Kōgetsu a much-needed lesson.

Sliding under the ropes, Kyo hopped into the ring, and, standing near the center, waited for his opponent to show up...

Fresh off her official victory against Belinda Northman, the bluenette was ready to continue her pursuit in becoming the most feared wrestler at LAW. More importantly, she planned on doing this by defeating and exposing the so-called legacy wrestlers of this organization. She had already shown that she was better than Belinda, now it was time to prove that she could do against Kyo as well. It didn't matter to her if her opponent was male or female, she was going to prove that she was better than them all.

No doubt she had already gotten into the head of her opponent even before their match, with their little interaction in the dojo. Not only did she show off her physical skills against him in the spar but also that she knew where to hurt him mentally if it ever came to that. At the end of their interaction, Kyo was enraged that she would ever bring his sister into this and that was exactly the type of reaction that she was hoping for. He was going to be bringing his best and she was ready for it.

Clad in her blue wrestling one piece and white boots, Homura's expression were as cold as ice. Her determination was unwavering and she only had one thing in mind. To dominate her foe in front of the entire world. Her theme cued and she made her way down the ramp, making her way towards the ring. The crowd showered boos on her given her last match against Belinda and the rumors of her dishonorable actions against Kyo. It didn't matter to her. To her, the sound of the crowd was nothing more than a mosquito annoyingly buzzing around her ear.

Once inside the ring, she placed her hands on her hips and glared at her opponent.

"Akamatsu-san. You are weak and I will prove that very fact after I leave you a broken man in this very ring" she said, her voice full of confidence as she would step up to the middle of the ring. She narrowed her eyes and continued glaring at Kyo, inviting him over to meet her face to face.

Kyo watched with a quiet anger as Homura made her way into the ring. After Homura had ambushed him in the dojo and formally challenged him, Kyo had gone back and watched Homura's match against Belinda Northman. It had been a hard fought battle-- something to be expected with a wrestler of Belinda's caliber-- but Homura had won. Partially thanks to cruel tactics, partially by overpowering her foe, but partially as well, Kyo had to admit, simply by being a skilled wrestler. He would have his work cut out for him tonight.

His fist reflexively clenched. But he would not lose. He would not lose. His family honor was on the line tonight, and he would defend it.

Before long, Homura was standing opposite him, her skintight leotard showing off her tall, powerful body in a way that her gi hadn't. Homura started things off, as expected, with insults. Kyo tried to maintain his usual aloofness, though he couldn't ignore the anger simmering inside of him.

He stepped closer to Homura so they were face to face. "Kogetsu Homura," he replied stiffly, "tonight I will show the audience what you really are: a coward who relies on cheap tactics to win, a pretender who cares nothing for the values or the dignity of this sport. After tonight you will regret insulting my family."

And with that, he would start to circle Homura, eager to get this match started; as the bell rsnf, he would raise his arms, motioning for a lockup, ready for any tricks from his foe.
