Hiro and Senjo Takijima vs. S+M - A Matter of Pride

Morrigan struck out with fists that had laid out far bigger, buffer men than Hiro, throwing her full power behind the strike. There wasn’t much finesse to it, no actual technique, just a raw, powerful, sledgehammer of a shot, the kind that could leave him seeing stars if it landed - or so she thought, anyway.

”Fuck!” Morrigan spat out as her punch landed in one of the worst places possible, striking right on his boney forehead. Had he planned that out? Seemed like a weird chance to take, and required some crazy timing, but she couldn't write off the possibility.

From the sidelines, Sabine was having similar thoughts as she watched the brawl commence with rapt attention. She honed in on Hiro’s fighting style in particular - there was something familiar about it, something she couldn't quite put a pin on. She’d seen it somewhere before, but…

She was distracted by Morrigan’s cry - Hiro had landed a shot, and a substantial one at that, cracking her clean in the liver. It knocked her back a step, and a follow-up forced another, putting her on a rare retreat. ”Lucky shots-” Never one to be pushed back too far, Morrigan reeled back and threw a wild haymaker - powerful, destructive, but easy to telegraph, not an ounce of subtlety.

Although Hiroyuki lacked personal flair in boxing due to not using it, he still had his headbutts, clinches, elbows, knees, and kicks to rely on. Finally, Hiroyuki was working out the pages of Morrigan's book. All that was left was to pen a satisfying conclusion that left him and his second mate as the victor. So far, her groundwork consisted of that perfect sprawl. Hopefully he could keep his neck from her thighs or the "DayQuil/NyQuil" combination of the bicep and forearm if she had any talents hidden in some bag of tricks. On the contrary, that shriek made his heart jump a bit. He took no pleasure from causing pain, that he knew of, and was pleased with himself each time he walked out of thaf ring with clean hands. Before he could even say anything, Morrigan had regained balance in order to re-engage.

"Jesus, Hiro...are you going to break her heart next?", Senji muttered after his content smirk dropped, relatively compared to the roar of the crowd. So far, the younger brother wasn't exactly dripping with excitement. Being in the fight appealed to him. Being on the receiving end riled him up even more, independent of winning or losing.

"What do you take me for, Sen~?!", He spit back a rebuttal, his voice increasing in pitch as Morrigan came upon him. Given that, Hiro outstretched his right leg and tilted it inward, pivoting his heel to the right. His gaze cleared from the double vision as she approached, his mind not as rattled this time unlike when she had struck his spine. Hiroyuki attempted to step back to buy time, but the blow was too hard and too fast, and her long strides could close distance easily. So, as he took the hit, heated pain exploded along his jaw. Getting hit so hard was not apart of the plan, but his leg would be trying to hook along the back of Morrigan's right knee to cause her to stumble forward into his "bastardized" takedown/trip. He thought he could use that momentum she was pushing at him against her, although time would tell if he had made an error in technique.


However, if Morrigan forcefully settled on top of Hiro, he would get to work on a hasty Guillotine choke with his left arm looped around the underside of Morri's arm so that he could perform the arm-in variation, his fingers intertwining for that gable grip. Even if he was successful, Hiroyuki could not wrap his legs around her trunk due to the whiffed landing. The sibling relied on the power of the unaltered squeeze instead, waiting...and waiting....

It clicked with Sabine, striking her like a bolt of lightning on a clear day. She had been trying to pinpoint where she had seen that style before, and she was brought back to a certain junior lightweight champion, famed for his efficient fighting style and implacable reach. While she wasn’t a boxing fan per se, she had caught a few of his matches and been impressed by the way he managed to keep his opponents at bay with pestering flicker jabs, controlling the ring like a lion tamer with a whip.

If that was the sort of fight Morrigan was in for, even close to it, then this would be a losing proposition. She was a brawler, rough and strong, not the best when it came to someone light on their feet. When it came to straight up fighting, a man like Hiro could whittle away on her, sap even her stamina and leave her like a husk.

Sabine had a glimmer of hope when one of her wild punches managed to strike paydirt, catching Hiro on the jaw and bringing her to the mat, but that hope evaporated when she realized he wasn’t going alone - he was falling and dragging her down with him, securing her with a tight guillotine choke. It would put him in a prime position to be pinned, but Morrigan didn’t have the wherewithal to realize that - instead, she went into a struggling fit, writhing around on the mat. With her spare hand, she started to throw stiff, short punches into his ribs, trying to batter his bones until he had enough incentive to let her go. A brutish strategy, but not the most effective.
