Wrestling Information

Strategy: Coming from a career in Soccer, Tai took the best elements from the game and incorporated them into his wrestling style. This means kicking. Lots and lots of kicking. His strategy is to use his speed and endurance to wear an opponent down, peppering them with hard kicks repeatedly, then combine that with grappling moves targeting the opponents head to further harm and daze them until their too weak to avoid being pinned or KOed by a hard kick to the noggin!

Type: Striker/Ground N Pound, minor Grappler
Preferred Matches: Standard, Hardcore, Hentai, Ironman, Multi-Fall, Tag/Trios matches

Endurance: 4/5 - Tai was the star player of his soccer team, his skill exceeding his own teammates by a fair amount. Between this, and Tai’s ego making it hard for him to sit on the bench unless he had too, he grew used to being on the field almost the entire length of 90 minute games, and his body is fit and lean. If your trying to tire Tai out, you won’t have much success. Wrestle him for an hour, he’ll still have energy to spare. You’ll have to beat him down to get him to not get back up
Strength: 3/5 - To no shock, Tai’s biggest strength feature is his legs. He can kick a soccer ball with enough force to send it moving at 80 miles per hour, slightly above professional averages, and as a result, his kicks should be taken seriously by anyone unlucky enough to feel them. The rest of him however, is not as strong. He only possesses moderate strength, so while he can slam a fellow wrestler, the bigger and heavier they are than him, the more unlikely it will be that he can lift them, and even if he can, an old tendon injury in his legs can cause his to wobble if he’s lifting something too heavy for him.
Speed: 3/5 – Tai used to be one of the fastest players you’d ever find on the soccer field in his prime. But alas, a tendon injury that ended his career of high level play still affects him from time to time, limiting his speed from its previous blitzkrieg pace to a speed that, while still fast, is still nowhere near his prime.
Defense: 3/5 – Tai’s defensive skills are a solid medium. His lack of advanced holds and moves means he lacks the known counters to such moves. His body can take a beating though, and even when it can’t, his sheer stubbornness and refusal to quit means it’ll last even longer than it probably should in a match.
Technique: 2/5: Overall, not the best grappler or technician in the ring. His over-reliance on kicks and fast grapples limits him overall, as he has little experience with things like submission holds or high flying moves, limiting his overall move-set and causing him to over-specialize.

Wrestling Stats

-Strikes: 5/5 – Has it not been mentioned that he will kick the shit out of people? He also has a tough head after years of hitting it against a ball and can head butt with the best hooligans

-Submissions: 3/5 – With his strong legs, he can apply a figure 4 leg lock that will damn near cripple anyone he fights. Outside of leg-based submissions though, he doesn’t do many submission holds.

-Power Moves: 2/5 – Not the strongest fighter around, so is limited in power moves. He can pull them off, but he lacks enough upper body strength to make them as effective as they could be, forcing him to spam them if he wants them to finish anyone.

-Aerial Moves: 1/5 – Tai doesn’t really go to the top rope at all except for a flying clothesline or a missile dropkick. Outside of those, or his Kamiya Cutter, he tends to stay more to ground level.

-Counters: 3/5 – Is pretty standard at these, though the more complicated the move or hold, the less likely he is to know how to counter it or to counter it well.

-Hentai: 3/5 – Tai was, and remains, an absolute playboy, happily willing to fuck any guy or girl he deems attractive enough to warrant his attentions, that being said, while he considers himself a player, he's also a VERY selfish lover, focusing on using his dick over any foreplay and focusing on penetration intercourse above everything else.

Favored moves: Kicks, More Kicks, Kawada Kicks, Enzuguri, dropkick, missle dropkick, snap suplexes, arm drags, dragon whip, Boston Crab, Brainbuster, Michinoku Driver, Headbutt

Signature Moves:

Kamiya Cutter: Tai races to the ropes, stepping up the middle and onto the top ropes, before springing back towards his opponent, catching them around the head on the way down, and bringing them crashing face first to the mat with an Ace Crusher!

Finishing moves:

Penalty Kick – With his opponent sitting up on the mat, Tai runs towards the ropes, rebounds off of them, charges full speed towards his opponent and puts his soccer skills to use, throwing his leg out to kick the opponent as hard as he can right in the chest! Can be spammed as often as he needs it.

GOAL! – The simplest, but most effective, finishing move in Tai’s arsenal, meant for opponents who utterly refuse to just STAY DOWN. With the opponent on all fours, Tai moves to the corner, hypes himself up, and charges full speed at them, swinging his leg to punt kick them right in the side of the head for a KO shot!

Characteristics

Visual Appearance: See Pics

Personality:
Headstrong, foolhardy, competitive, and stubborn as a mule, when Tai Kamiya Jr. sets his mind to something, there is little anybody can say or do to change his mind, unless they have a DAMN good argument. Tai is rather single minded and focus-driven, setting his sights on one goal at a time and refusing to give up on it until he succeeds, or is unable to achieve it anymore, which has backfired on him before.

He can also be quite a bully at times, back in his soccer days, he would bully and berate anybody on his team who he felt wasn’t pulling their own weight on the team…which, inevitably, ended up being everybody.

That being said, he is not incapable of being friendly, when in a good mood and away from a competitive environment, and when he is in moments of good cheer, such as celebrating a victory with a teammate, he will often be the life of the party, generous and fun loving.

His ultimate failure in his goals regarding the World Cup, and his injury that ended his soccer career for good also served to humble him quite a bit. His negative traits above still remain…but he’s actually mellowed out quite a bit in comparison.

If you’re a competitor against him or catch him after a loss though…you won’t see him in a good mood.

Past/History: (note: Hate writing backstories nobody will care about, so I do “Highlights” instead)

*Like all the Kamiya's, Tai's father is Tai Kamiya Sr, a pro wrestling jobber who traveled around the world losing matches and getting his butt kicked. What Tai Sr. lacked in skill however, he made up for in charm and good looks, and he charmed many a female wrestling fan, seducing them for one night stands and then moving on to the next territory for his next match, rinse and repeat. As a result, he left many pregnant women behind, had many children, all of whom he chose to abandon to continue his playboy lifestyle.

*It took 20 years, but Tai Sr. eventually realized he had been kind of an asshole and deadbeat father, and so, through his exes, he sent all his children letters, explaining why he was never in their lives, why they were better off for it, and leaving a contact number to friends he had made in high places in the wrestling world, who, if any of his children were interested, would get them trained and hired as pro wrestlers, if any wanted it as a career choice. Out of all his kids...only 6 replied.

*Grew up in South America, and like many children from that country, knew how to perfectly balance a soccer ball on his head by the age of 5.

*Was an only child, as his stepfather couldn’t have children and his mother only wanted one.

*Developed a passion for Soccer at a young age, and kept up with it throughout elementary, jr. high, and High School, showing a natural aptitude and skill at the sport, proving to be an absolute prodigy at the sport not seen in some time.

*His skills in the sport far exceeded his schoolwork or any other passions or hobbies in his life, and eventually, it all paid off, as while he was STILL in high school, without spending any time in the minor leagues, Tai was offered a shot at a national team, a team he quickly became the star of, exceeding even his own teammates with his skills, and eventually, near single handedly, bringing his team to the World Cup, where he set the record for being the youngest player to ever compete in the Cup.

*Two separate occasions he brought his team to the World Cup, determined to succeed and make all the years of effort, sweat, tears, and sacrifice worth it…but caused his own downfall. Tai’s skills were great…except his teamwork skills. He often used his teammates as assists for his own glory, as opposed to working as a truly unified team. This meant that during Cup matches, he essentially set himself up to take on entire opposing teams practically by himself. Naturally, no one man can fight an army, and this led to his team being eliminated in an early round.

*The next Cup, Tai, having only half-learned his lesson from before, played better with his team, but still craved his own slice of glory and sought it when he could, delivering high level play that made many “Play of the night” highlight reels on sports shows, pushing himself harder and harder with each game, often exhausting himself in the process, despite his teammates warnings to go easy on himself. Ultimately, this led to a serious tendon injury that not only cost his team any chance of winning the cup, but guaranteed he never would, as while his leg would heal, he would never be able to achieve that same high level of play again without re-injuring himself and potentially crippling himself.

*Initially depressed upon the loss of his dream career, as he didn’t fancy any of the other options he had, like coaching, the arrival of his father’s letter, explaining his career and making his offer to Tai to join pro wrestling, Tai immediately made the call to accept the offer, seeing it as a new chance to excel, a new challenge worthy of his skills, and a chance to redeem himself for his past failures.

Fun Facts:
- Had never watched a day of wrestling in his life before learning his father was in the business. Since joining Law, he’s been soaking up as much knowledge as he can to try and give himself an edge in the ring.

- Has absolutely ZERO desire to reconnect with his birth father and namesake, Tai Sr. He’ll take the name for wrestling, claim a wrestling title as his birthright, but otherwise wants nothing to do with the man.

- Same goes for his siblings other than the ones who joined him in LAW. Fuck em.

- Tai takes nutrition and health very seriously. His body is a temple, and so drinking, drugs, and unhealthy foods are NOT allowed entry. Only a healthy diet of meats and veggies.

-…The above being said, on rare occasions, such as when he’s extremely depressed, upset, or celebrating a major success…he will eat the FUCK out of a pepperoni pizza.

- His formerly injured tendon, while since recovered, is more susceptible to tendinitis, getting inflamed and weaker and if he’s over-exerting himself in a hard match or lifting a heavy opponent, his leg can go out on him sometimes, causing him to falter and fall, and usually requiring rest and physical therapy to heal.
