Personality: Charlie is a pretty chill guy in all aspects. A nerd about the marine life, the supernatural and comic books, Charlie fashioned his persona around some old timey wrestlers such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, etc AND some monsters that he was particularly found of, such as megalodons and liches. Fun to be around, fun in the ring, Bone-Shark enjoys doing what he does and is in most accounts a jovial face in the industry, and can act both stoic and engaging depending on who he's facing.
However- that myth about sharks going on a frenzy when they smell blood? Yeah, thats not so much a myth with him. While blood doesnt really make him go insane, Charlie's "blood" is a grudge. He can hold grudges for long times and always has to get even with someone he thinks slighted him and when he's like this.. all bets are off- so a heel cheap shots him? an ambush isnt off the table, for example. Other than that, he's a bit of a naive young "hero", just with a wild side.
History:
Charlie wasn't really anything special. He used to be a popular kid at school, linebacker in his football team, born to a spanish dad and american mom. Though he resonated more with his fathers side, specially since his mom left when he was twelve. Used to be kind of a jerk due to uncontrolled anger after that, and lashed out at those that he thought “opposed” him. Charlie got into a lot of fights, and didn’t always win all of them. This continued till he was twenty two, and his reputation was growing as a menace around the campuses and the town that they lived in. He was also getting into alcohol and other.. darker things, but never fully.
His father suggested that he take up a combat sport- and initially Charles rebelled because why would he ever listen to his dad? However, later on he figured.. it couldn’t hurt. And it didn’t. Charlie was a low life in the realm of wrestling. He wasn’t a breakout star, he wasn’t a prodigy. Essentially, Charles Rivera was..
Nothing special.
However, that didn’t bother him. He wasn’t one to pursue fame and bragging rights as much. Wrestling helped him mellow out, and he took it casually enough to not destroy himself by competing. And.. slowly but surely, he did make a name for himself, enjoyed it and got better. Charlie was approached by LAW at the age of 27. However, he had gotten engaged to a woman and was deeply in love with her. He wanted to dedicate some time to making a family, and declined the offer.
However, there was a bit of an issue. You see, his partner was unfaithful. Charlie caught her one day before he turned 30, just before he was going to propose to her. She was in bed with another person, and in his anger.. he got violent agai. Relapsed to his old habits and kicked both of them out of the house. Many times the woman sent men to retrieve her property, and many times he beat them up in a drunken stupor. Until finally he was sentenced to prison. For two years he rotted in the cell. Got some tattoos, got into fights. It felt good.. but also wrong to be fighting to seriously hurt people again.
He missed it. Missed wrestling. When he got out, he’d start to work on himself again, managing his habits and anger, and making himself the best version of himself. Word got around he was returning.. But LAW got to him first. Taking a risk with a felon, they finally picked up Charlie and made him theirs.
