Clearly its because she stayed with Kyoko, notice how with her the only reason she died is because of two things she cant control, nature and her own actions

Also can we talk about how anticlimactic of an ending that would be? Kat probably shot major from the back since she just let her into her camp and then the other person dies of hypothermia so Kat was probably wondering around and suddenly it just was announced she won XD
