Tokyo Brawl Fine Tuning

HOI.

So, with it being conceived just over a year ago now, I think it's finally time for the Tokyo Brawl. As of right now, I'm considering 23rd November as a starting date, as it gives plenty of time for xalex's love event to get going, and space before any Christmas stuff.

SO! I wanted to make this thread before hand to do a little fine tuning and set out the details. I'm looking to keep it simple enough to follow, but complex enough so that it's not just a bland event. So far, here are the details so far along with things I'm considering. If you have any feedback on anything (from even the name or starting date) please comment!
Reminder of the rules
-Once your girl has been pinned, they are given a rest of ten minutes where they cannot be pinned or submitted. This doesn't have to be written, it can just be used as reasoning for the girl being a little fresher in an encounter straight after.
-The result of a fight must be seen by a non-participant. This means no private fights; the winner must be clearly seen.
-Once a fighter has gained a point from another, those two must then encounter another before fighting again. So if girl A and B fought, regardless of winner, they cannot fight again until either one has fought girl C. This would be to stop the winner of a fight 'stalking' the girl she has just beaten, waiting for the ten minutes to fight.
-No dangerous locations. Middle of busy roads, hospitals, etcetc.
Details so far-
  • This event will be run by me and ADarlingDucky, with input from Winner3 and Vcom.
  • Ideally, this event will have a close tie in with the LAWLESS belt in some form.
  • Given the premise, it's going to last a while. (6-9 months?). In-event, it's going to last 24 hours.
  • 1 character per user, but it's open to anyone. If hardcore fights aren't your thing, you could easily just slot in a casual wrestler or maybe even a hentai variety, and have them compete in the event in their own unique fun way.
  • You may join the event any time in 'the 24 hour day'/6-9 months. Obviously the sooner you start the better chance your wrestler will have, given they can get into fights sooner. If at any point you'd like to leave the event, please simply inform one of us, so we can come up with a canon reason for your character leaving if you like. (i.e simply hiding/resting out the event out of sight).
  • The winner of the event will be the character with the most fight wins. BUT, I'm hoping for an emphasis on creativity especially in terms of the LAWLESS belt. E.G. Having your character play a handful of creative fights will favour you better than simply doing ten standard brawls in the street.
Things to consider-
  • How to really decide which fights are most creative, if at all officially. (Mod choice, open poll, other)
  • The biggest issue with events in my own opinion (and I'm sure noob would agree), is stagnation. And given this is an event that would require more than just the one thread done, I'm worried that people would just lose interest throughout or whatever, or simply stop posting.
  • A active thread limit? Keeping the sense that time is passing, rather than say me starting three fights the moment the event started to give me a headstart. Obviously I want to take into account that some days/weeks/longer people simply can't post, so maybe a small limit but not an absolute 1 active thread at a time limit.
Anywho, feedback would be great, as would any ideas I haven't touched upon. I'm hoping this still looks attractive to everyone to sign up >.<

We can definitely work out the details collaboratively. I'm sure everyone that expressed interest before would still be down for this idea.

I'm glad we have a good idea of what's nailed down and what needs to be figured out. Since the ppv event is in January, we can abstain from kicking off other events for a while aside from the Tokyo Brawl and We Are LAW so that people can focus on them and stuff for other events that they may be wrapping up.

I like the idea of incorporating polls or a third party into the fights. Though I understand that the other two points of concern, stagnation and active thread limits, are currently more pressing. I'd vouch for a small number of active threads, maybe 2 or 3 per user so encourage folks focusing on their fights and keeping them progressing at a steady rate.

Stagnation should be a concern in any event. I can understand how it's a bigger worry than usual in this one. I want to advocate for fun, small ways to keep people interested and invested. The first thing that comes to mind is a scoreboard that features each girl in the event to show how everyone's doing relative to each other. Though I could see that idea discouraging people after the event has gone on for long enough, because it might make it feel like they can't catch up before it's over. But I do feel like it's a decent, positive start. I'm sure we can hash out even better ideas though. And I'm sure the event will still be fun for everyone involved :)
